Could someone please post some driving tips for the diesel Figo, especially in the initial run-in period, regarding gear shifting, tyre pressure etc?
What exactly does "torque" mean, practically?
Thanks

torque is the force causing acceleration, the more the torque, the more faster the acceleration occurs.

In real life, it is the force that pushes you towards the seat back when you put pedal to the metal (provided you are in the right revs)

How does one relate torque, to the gear shifting speed and the tacho numbers?
What are the maximum speeds as per the gears that are allowed in the run-in period of the diesel Figo?

You will get good torque between 1500-2400 rpm & max torwue is available at 2000 rpm.

Just look at the tacho, Dont let it cross above 2700 during run-in.

I would say that if you have enough patience then 1500 kms, otherwise 1000 kms is also fine.

Yup it makes sense not to wait for the 1st service as you want to let out the beast in your car for lets say a 1000 kms before the oil gets changed.

Apologies for not updating the thread as I was quite busy with work and family functions. The car has currently done 2750 kms.

The mileage we have been getting is:

1st tankful 13.9 kms per litre used normal diesel

2nd tankful 15.2 kms per litre used turbojet

3rd tankful 14.1 kms per litre used normal diesel

Our daily run is 50 kms out of which 17 kms is on the city roads and 33 kms on the highway. I up-shift around the 1800rpm mark and rarely go above 90 kms per hour. The Alto which we were using earlier used to give us 16 kms per litre on the same route.

Just had the car serviced a couple of days back and the service experience was pretty good and pleasant, the service adviser was quick to note down the details of the car and the car was promptly serviced and handed over the next day afternoon. The total bill for the 1st service is 1750 the bill break up is below:

Distilled water - 16
Wash fluid pouch - 52
Oil filter - 319
Engine oil (3.8 litres) - 735
Waxoyl motor care - 290
Consumables - 130
Service tax - 44
Vat - 163

Ford says the mileage will go up by at least 4 kms per litre which might be doubtful though I hope it will go up by 2 kms. Also had Garware tints put on the car and will post the pictures in a few days time along with the mileage got after the service.

Mods please change the title to Ford Figo first service update.

What is the Waxoyl part?

And why service tax when the labour is not chargeable?

Could I bother you for a scanned copy of the bill?

Any Difference felt? Was there extra Smoke coming from the exhaust as in other cars?

Waxoyl motor care - 290

What is that supposed to be?

Ford says the mileage will go up by at least 4 kms per litre which might be doubtful though I hope it will go up by 2 kms.

Now when?

How can they collect a service tax when the service is itself is free? VAT is fine for the spares.

I have not had the Waxoyl part in my bill and there is no service charge in my first service bill.

I think they owe you that!

Could you scan the bill and put up the image here, please?

congrats Joe on your purchase. Figo really looks cool in white along with the coral IP. This is my second best colour after the grey version. Amused with your dealer experience, on the same note I am having to deal with some pre-delivery issues with my Ford dealer at Mysore. Unable to get my hands on a figo every after a waiting period of 60+ days. If not for the quality product, the dealer experience here at ford sucks !
