Sumit, Thank you for your advice on the tyres. Replaced Yoko C-drives last Saturday at Tyre Professionals, Basavangudi. I wanted the CPC2 as 1st choice. They had it in stock, the manufacturing date was 2208 which is 22nd week of 2008. This was a 2 year old tyre and if I had not checked the date, it would have gone into my car and it was showing its age as well. Asked him to get fresh stocks and dealer said I will have to wait for couple of hours.

Yoko C-drives were also not readily available, but was promised delivery with 20 minutes from the yokohama stock yard. So went for the yoko. Initial feel is good. The weighted steering absolutely feels the same. Driving in bangalore traffic didnot show a big difference from GT3. Will update the highway driving experience after a couple of weeks.

Congratulations, C-Drives are excellent tyres as well.
How is the road noise? Less, same or more than GT3?
Grip levels would be definitely better.

Did not have time to get it installed, so I bought the central locking with me. I will go there in couple of days to get it installed. They were saying it would take around 4-5 hours to install it.

Here are a few pictures:

Sumit,

Congrats..U seem to be the first guy who's got the package. I am yet to get one in delhi, FIAT is seriously lousy at sending them to the dealers.

PS: Had a minor accident today, got the first official scratch on my Punto, hurts like hell !

Thanks.
I was passing through the FIAT dealership today and though I would check if the CL has come.
Luckily, the package just arrived today. And there were only 3 pieces.
I just bought one and took it home with me.

Really sorry to hear about the incident. It really does hurt a lot. Hope the scratch is not too nasty.

A short review of the Central Locking for Active model

I have got it installed today.

Its a basic keyless entry system. You get 2 remotes. There is not anti-theft system. But the car comes with immobilizer installed.

The doors do not lock automatically when you start/move the car.

The system gives 4 beeps if any of the doors is open and wont lock the car.

2 additional benefits:
Now all doors show warning on the dashboard if they are open.
Map light comes on when you open any of the doors. Earlier it used to be for front doors only.

All in all, it works perfectly as keyless entry, but there are no additional anti-theft features.

Price of Rs. 9985 is inclusive of all taxes and it also includes the installation, which took a whopping 7 hours.

Now wires were cut during installation. They have provided jacks and use the current electricals of the car.

Congrats.
Even the Emotion Pack has just got an immobilizer with rolling code as the only anti-theft measure.

So I guess there is no alarm in this CL system?

I think it is a good VFM if it can show door open warning on the MID for all doors and the map lamp feature for rear doors as well plus no worries on warranty part.

Yup, there is no alarm when someone tries to break in!!
There is no reverse alarm as well.
But, I am not too fond of reverse alarm anyways.
Infact, I told the guys who were installing the CL to disconnect the reverse alarm, that's when they told me that the feature is not there in the first place.

Remote does not have any AUTOCOP logos. There is a FIAT logo present at the back of the remote.

Sumit, quite a hobby you have going on there!!!

IMO you have the best set of alloys available for a hatchback, and i hope you don't switch those with the cheap looking aftermarket alloys like Plati & Lenso.

I once fitted Plati for our Octavia and two alloy wheels got bent. One was beyond repair. I immediately switched them back and i've stayed well clear of aftermarket alloys (especially Plati).

Now the only alloys that i would rather have are these

BTW Abarth has the same set of alloys!
