Hmm. Could be the gear cables.. but then shouldnt there be squeaking when I change the gear at all times; I mean when the car is stationary also ?
The sound is only heard when I shift up not even when I shift down

And the reason why I was thinking engine mounts could be the reason is because when I start the engine and stop the engine also I can hear the same squeak/squeal.

I am also thinking could it be the axle bearings since it is only happening when I shift up ?

The clutch spring squeaks sometimes as well. I've got it lubricated twice already.

Vid, It seems that it happens only during upshifts.

re: Review: 1st-gen Ford Figo (2010)

Checked out my friend's 1 month old Figo TDCi. The gearshift is mushy, esp the third gear. I know the Figo's gearbox isn't as slick as the Fiesta's but still this one was just not mechanical. It was rubbery. Another friend's > 1 yr old Figo which I drive regularly is much much better.

And when the AC is switched on it creates more than the usual noise, kind of an extra generator running. Again, not observed in the other Figo.

Has anyone else observed these issues?

I hope it's a one off case. Quality checks in the plant need to be more strict.

Yes kiku007 it may be one off case. Definitely gearbox is not slick, but the shifts are precise. AC on/off was felt by means of a small jerk of the compressor.Noise increase is there, but not like a generator.

So there are 4 slots each on rear tail lamp, viz.

1) Turn ind
2) Reverse lamp
3) empty slot
4) Brake lamp.

right? The third slot could be fitted with a lamp. Can anybody help with the ratings for this slot?

The 3rd slot can be used either for an extra brake or reverse lamp. I think reverse & brake lamp spec may have the same rating and would fit in.

The lamp cover is red, so ideally it can be used for an extra pair of brake lamps.

Someone(couple of pages before) mentioned that the new figo comes with rear fogs...Then would it not be just easy to go get the oem accessory than worry abt ratings etc by fitting it on your own.

Does anyone know if the new Figo has tilt steering? I personally have not seen any ads showing the new additions/changes.

With the new swift, diesel beat, indica facelift, liva diesel et al. I wish ford had come up with a better update.

re: Review: 1st-gen Ford Figo (2010)

Got my figo after the 30K service.
Costs
Fuel Filter Rs. 1039.06
Oil Filter Rs 333.38
Oil Rs 896.00
Total Rs 2269

That was cheap.

I had a small noise in the rear suspension and found a leaky strut.
Left steering pull identified as a problem in the front suspension and also discovered that there is a problem in the steering rack.

So replacing them under warranty next week.

Labour is where ford dealers make money, I was as well when I didn't see labour charges in the list.
How can they charge the service labour in the next visit? could you please elaborate?

I have some other things to be rectified which is mentioned in my post(quoted above) probably this is why Labor was not charged. Even I was surprised that there was no labor charges.

no the air filter was not changed. I had even asked the same but was told that was not required.

Will check guys when I go tomorrow.
