re: Review: 1st-gen Ford Figo (2010)

Also, can I retrofit the deluxe floor console of the titanium version onto my Zxi? This is the storage around the handbrake lever. Or will the entire console have to be replaced? And approximate cost?

re: Review: 1st-gen Ford Figo (2010)

Finally getting my Figo (Titanium , Petrol) tomorrow. Getting a 1-1-11 registration. Spoke to the Sales Manager and he says increasing the sidewalls only and keeping the rim size as is would not void the warranty. He also recommended spacers instead of a tyre upgrade.

AFAIK spacers will adversely affect the handling of any car. Could you reconfirm that Ford India recommends spacers?

@AjithNarasimhan Gr8 to get 20.5Kmpl at 3 digit speeds. I think it is purely on highway.
Had a long drive last week, including normal & bad roads - 17.9 with full A/c (kept at 9'0 clock position)
Done a full carpet flooring at sun combines, Coimbatore. They did professionally. will post the photos and other details in my ownership report.
Ford's service response is not improved. After my mail (given in the ownership report) no call or email from them.

RGK,
They still haven't resolved your cars problem? Fords lack of response is quite scary.

Any other bhpians Figo also having problems with the brakes? My figo still makes horrible sounds when I press the brake at low speeds.

I took my car to fix some of the smaller niggles.
They added some kind of wiring kit to my car to check and monitor the sensors.
Other figo owners check with your dealer if your car needs this update.
Details and part no. here.

After reading the above statement, I feel that the sound does not appear when you apply brake at high speeds. Is that the case?

Moreover, what kind of sound does it make when you apply the brake?

Yes you are right! It comes only when the brake is applied at low speeds.
It sounds like some metal grinding! Like GRRrrrr Grrrr

Gemi also posted this about his Figo

re: Review: 1st-gen Ford Figo (2010)

Got my Figo yesterday and have driven close to over 100 KMs over a day and a half and all of that within the city.
The car handles very well and am enjoying it.
Thanks folks, for all your inputs.

Yes you can get the floor console from the Titanium fitted on the ZXi. Ford does not keep the parts in stock so may not be easy to get from your dealer.

re: Review: 1st-gen Ford Figo (2010)

thanks for the reply vid, what I want to know is whether the whole dash (Plastic bits from the audio system downwards, around the gear lever) of my zxi should be replaced with the titanium's or if only the part around the handbrake lever can be procured separately?

re: Review: 1st-gen Ford Figo (2010)

Vid, Are you sure about it? When I was at ford one of the accessory guys told me and another ZXI figo owner that its impossible to fix this in our cars because the seat was different or something like that. Maybe this guy was just lazy to do so.
I too want to fix this on my car. If you are sure that this can be done then please do let me know. The interior of the car looks very bare without this.

I too was initially looking for the plastic panel surrounding the hand brake lever. In the Titanium, as far as I know, it's a single piece of plastic running from under the dash till the back of the hand brake. So if you wish to install it, the entire unit should be replaced. Getting that part from the dealer would be a challenge in itself.

re: Review: 1st-gen Ford Figo (2010)

The main reason i'm looking for the deluxe floor console is storage for rear passengers. It is pure utility. How about fusion or fiesta's console, can they be retro fitted?
