So much for running in the engine and not exceeding 2000 rpm etc.

Actually, i had inquired about the availability of Green Titanium, from Chennai Ford, Arumbakkam. They said, its available for delivery immediately. Any idea what will be the distance between their yard & show room. I will check the odos, tomorrow.

Ford or Dealer is playing it

Is it the good gold sales gimmick or is there really a price hike?

He told me that I need to pay the full amount as the vehicle is allotted to me. The vehicle is not yet in the yard for inspection! Should I go by his word?
As per the telecon with my SR, he is telling me that I cant get my vehicle on June 1st!

I booked the car on April 16th and wanted to take delivery on my lucky day - June 1st. He is offering me other options like I need to take either red dashboard or a red car!

Called up the sales rep and registered a complaint (No: 9508250). If Ford is trying to cash me in with a revised price, then I will make sure that they lose two customers.

All cars reaching the CF showroom will be drivin from the yard. So how are you gonna check with the ODO KMS?

Irrespective of cars or bikes. The drive from yard to showroom, drives to and from the RTO offices are by ppl who decide to rip the hell out of the car.

Kairali Ford is playing it again!

First it was the squeeze for mkerala! Now it is a diamond white for me!

It seems like Ford dealerships are like supremarket. You need to go to them and get a model that is displayed (or in their yard).

If you order an out of shelf one you are gone! They will take you for a ride and will make you travel atleast 1K-2K Kms extra on your old car before they give you your new ride!

Figo prices going up???

Hi Guys,
Just read on a website that Ford is planning to raise the prices of Figo as early as the 1st June. Wonder how much will the increase be...
Ford Figo to Become Expensive | CarTradeIndia.com

I really think they might just be planning to cut open a 'sone ka anda dene waali murgi'...after all, all the reviews of FIGO talk about its VFM factor more than anything else

Moment of truth.

To all my Figo colleagues,
I got my car repaired after the front end collision. Listed below is a price list of critical parts which were replaced. Thanks to the cars front end design where critical parts like radiator and a/c condensor are placed very close to the bumper. Unlike in other cars the a/c condensor is placed right behind the radiator and behind it is the fan motor assembly.

Hood/Bonnet - 4992/-
Painting -6066/-
Refitting -772/-
Total -11830/-

Front Bumper - 1603/-
Painting -5515/-
Refitting - 772/-
Total - 7890/-

Head lamp - 2103/-
Refitting - 275/-
Total - 2378/-

Radiator - 2504/-
Refitting - 552/-
Total - 3056/-

Radiator Fan motor - 2949/-
Refitting - 772/-
Total - 3721/-

A/c Condensor - 3355/-
Oil - 625/-
Refitting - 550/-
Total - 4530/-

A/c gas charging - 2206/-

Front Repair panel - 5836/-
Refitting - 2206/-
Total - 8042/-

There were many other small items also which I haven't mentioned like coolant etc. So judge yourselves whether its expensive or not. 5500 Rs to paint a bumper worth 1600 Rs. . As gemi rightly put it, the moment of truth has come. Look at the damage a Wagon R exhaust tail pipe did to my figo due to a non existent bumper. So the moral of the story is to avoid any kind of frontal shunts with this car. Safe driving.

Extract from internet article

"We are still fine tuning the price. It will, however, not be a major hike and well below two per cent," Wark said.

That gives a rough idea on price hike.

I didn't claim insurance. Paid cash. So they did not replace the bumper. Only repainting was done. Radiator fan assembly was also not replaced. So my total bill was exactly 35000/-. I think its the dealer who is to be blamed for these high prices.

Thats shocking data. Why do they have to paint the bumper when they are replacing the bumper ? Did you have airbags ? did they deploy ?

Indeed a moment of truth

Can you please post some images of your car after the accident?

I think "front bumper" here means denting job on the front bumper. If it indeed is a complete replacement, I don't think that would be <2k (I maybe wrong) and of course there shouldn't be any painting charges.

@extremetorque: He already did that here: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-d...ml#post1889103

The placement of the radiator is too close. I had mentioned about this a long time ago. Regarding the bonnet taking the impact, its similar in others cars too. The front bumpers now a days do not have that step at the top after which the grill and bonnet start. They fit in the same line vertically. So much for the term "bumper" ! (its a bummer).
Safety advocates advise that even small cars should have a big gap in the front to crumple effectively.
