great move by mahindra. atleast they are taking note of issues & rectifying it at the earliest. this is what i mean by customer care!

but why cant they simply recall the cars instead of waiting for the cars to come for service.

Engine Mal Function light came unexpectedly, the error code was P163C this is the same error code that I got in first trim with first gen mHawk in Ladhak, the cause is still unknown but Service Center checked all the vacuum lines and air intake, that is what is supposed to cause these fault code. 2 more vehicle with same fault code has been registered before and they all had more or less problem with vacuum line or turbo line ;-(

Pramod, are you sure the error code read by DTC was P163C?

I think so I am sure about the first 4 letters P163 not 100% about C but it does look like C..

What does this DTC code mean?

-Pramod

PS: Once they started testing, I saw EGR Valve Actuator DTC error too

DTC- Diagnostic tool connector, every error code corresponds to a set of root causes which must be diagnosed and rectified. In some cases the root cause may be unknown.

I believe the guy who was working tried to search this error code in a manual which started with 0057/59 for VLX/SLE/LX refresh but this code was not there, then he went back to CoTEK and looked into some recent manual for the DTC and came back and checked the vacuum line and air intake, he even checked the Turbo line for leakage, I believe this error code somehow is linked with leakage around Turbo.

This also gave me the opportunity to look at different sensor that are there, I see all the wires visible around the connector, at some places the tapes are still protecting them[this tape must be high temp tapes] but at other the wires are visible, I hope these wires are good enough to with stand the heat and temp variation in the engine bay, else they will cause a BIGGER problem later on!

PS: I learned how to adjust the headlight, there is a screw on each of headlight which can be rotated clock and anticlock wise to adjust the beam, once that is adjusted then you can use the internal switch with 4 position to readjust.

I searched internet for high temp tapes and they are called Kapton tapes, they are made to handle temperatures and are used in insulation, can anybody know from where I can get these tapes?
I need to get this tape and got to service center and get that applied at all the exposed joints, for the time being they applied the normal tapes and I am very worried at the temp handling of normal tapes in the engine compartment!

Today after a great drive, some offroading in company of another Scorpio but 4x2, we figured out there are places where 4x4 are required and 4x2 just can't make it atleast with most of normal driver.

We enjoyed the drive, but now about the problem, the engine light, this is the other light, which doesn't have the check written came up, though this happened when I was almost about to park at home, so stopped the engine and waited for 15 minute and restarted the light didn't came up again, but I had not seen this light before so went to service center and here comes the problem, this was with TCU, the error code was P0500 which means the drive shaft speed sensor value failure, this indicate either the wire harness problem, connector problem or connection problem. TCu connection was checked and reconnected again, checked no TCU error, but am not sure why this happened and will it happen again?

I will update with few video later of offroading.

thats a decent offroading, good to see videos, however noticed that you stopped the voice messaging system when it was telling something. Is it possible to stop him while he is talking ?

Been thru most of the thread Pramod. Thanks for so much information. I might have missed it but what middle row config do you have?

Edit: I see that you have a bench. Is it split and foldable?

Fantastic pics from your trip but sorry to hear about all the issues after the AT failure. Would you buy this car again?

I would definitely buy it NOW, as most of the issue I believe would have been registered and fixed in the new lot!

back to my issue list my Scorpio is leaking Diesel, its been 4 days, on Saturday Service center figured out that the tank diesel sensor gasket is leaking and they don't have any in stock, not even in junk, the design of the gasket has been changed in the refresh and its not same as before and now its leaking till now its 15 liters of diesel I have lost, the only fix was to put some sealant from outside and hope it doesn't leak till I get that gasket!
