Hi Pramod,

Really sad to hear this news and that too when you are about to reach the place to which you have started for. Hope Mahindra will take care of the issue and return your vehicle soon. I must also say that, you have clicked some wonderful pics. Do keep us posted with the developments.

@pramods:

Sorry to hear about the issue. Regarding propellor shaft removal. AT generally have a place you can use to shift the gears to neutral if the lever is stuck. Not sure if the local folks were not aware of this or the Mahindra AT doesn't have this feature.

Either way, serviceability was my biggest concern that made me go for the Manual 4x4.

Was there a low fluid warning light that came on that made you aware of this or did the transmission just lock up due to lack of fluid?

The engine MIL came up, I stopped the vehicle and open the hood to see oil everywhere and the pipe was out of socket, when the service guy came to tow after 8hrs and started the vehicle the vehicle started properly but putting the gear in D mode or R mode was not having any effect, the RPM was raising but the vehicle was standstill!

So sorry to hear about the breakdown. Good that M&M are taking care to repair and transport your vehicle to Nagpur, but then I suppose you're contributing to their R&D. Hope you get back a better and upgraded vehicle once they deliver it back to you - without the ATF fluid leak susceptibility.

Small mercies. Hardly something to be thankful for - this would be the LEAST expected!
This is bad publicity for M&M.
They'd better come up with something substantial to sweeten the bad memories!
Think of what this could lead to in the US, the new market they are planning to tap!

Pramod,

Sorry to know about the issues faced with the AT. I trust M&M has some answers valid to the issues.

Giving Logan as a loaner is welcome move.

Are they updating you on the timelines it will take for the vehicle to reach you?

I am a positive minded person and am sure that this is just a one off case, also on the transportation, its the same company who delivers new vehicles to showrooms, so there shouldnt be any doubt as to how they will transport the vehicle to your location.

Nice girl in the ad shoot

Hi Pramod. Good to see the progress no matter how slow it is. I also got skeptical after hearing your story. The ASC guys really goofed it up there. The silver lining is that in your next trip, those guys can be expected to be knowing more about ATs.

@akshay: thanks for the offer, as of now it's going to be done in Jammu, COTEK are the group of trained personal working in dealer service center, COTEK are supposed to be core people for Mahindra service, COTEK's from Chandigarh region are going to Jammu to diagnosis and fix the vehicle, I am hoping everything goes fine and I get the vehicle at the earliest.
