@Pramod: Sorry to hear about your accident but don't worry your vehicle hasn't suffered much damage and should be back to its previous glory in no time.

Now on the insurance part, the way it works is that the ASC will have to submit an estimate and only when the items are approved, will they start work. In your case, I have a feeling that the estimate would include 2 new doors, right front fender, side plastic cladding, painting and Removal and Refitment charges. Looking at the pictures of your vehicle, Insurance will have to give new front fender but may ask to repair the doors. So please impress upon the ASC that you DO want new doors and am sure they can get that done.

Since your car is less than 6 months old, there will not be any depreciation payable by you on metal parts (its 5% after 6 months) but you'll have to pay 50% on plastic. So your bill will be the excess amount as per your policy, cost of consumables, 50% depreciation of plastic and glass items and salvage.

Salvage: From the last one year or so Insurance companies don't take the salvage but deduct the same amount from the claim amount. So you'll have to dispose off the salvage to realise that amount. Since its the doors, I'm sure there would be a good demand in the second hand market.

I spent good time at service center looking at the repair, both doors and front panel has been replaced, the back panel has been repaired, today the door alignment were done, and both the hinges of the front door has to be changed because the front door was not getting aligned.

attached are the images of the repair work, and also the repair estimate, the repair estimate is Rs 84847, out of which Rs37557 is labour, I am nor sure what is approved and what not, I got the copy of the survey with lots of yes and no, will have to wait for the final inspection for the Actual cost that I have to pay, with the current bill there are few items that service guy said will be used from the previous door or the surveyor will approve later or might have thought of as "accessory".

If i calculate based on the right and wrong then it comes to some were 40K to be paid by me and 40K from Insurance

@Pramod
I feel more sorry for you now than what I did initially. Get hold of your insurance agent by his throat and squeeze out a better settlement. This is daylight robbery.

Guys, this is off topic but now there is an insurance product in the market where the premium is more but you are covered for everything for 100% value no deductions/depriciations apply. Metals, plastics, glass, rubber, labour all covered. Looking at Pramod's situation it makes sense for any one buying vehicles in the say 8L and above bracket. Do not fall for the NCB trap. Value of money saved now is much higher than value of money to be saved in the unseen future. This product is only for new purchases.

pramod 100% labour should be covered by insurance also 100% of metal parts chould be covered and 50% of plactics so if labour is 37 grand plus doors about 10 each at least 57 grand is payable by insurance like wise adding other things almost 85 % or so of the bill should be covered.
all the best buddy and i pray that no such thing happens to anyone.

Pramod, sorry about the accident man! Don't worry, your steed will come out nice & shining & restored to former glory.

Damage is pretty extensive - couldn't understand from your post if the Tavera hit you again when it started up? My apologies if you've already explained.

Pramod, really sorry to see the accident on your vehicle.

I can see one hub or wheelcap missing, did that also break during this accident ?

The damage is quite bad, however I feel the impact would have been worse, as Scorpio is known to take on minor stuff without any notice.

Most probably I will get the vehicle tomorrow without all the VLX sticker on the front panel ,door and without Powered by mHawk logo as that logo need to be adjusted after the sticker, anyway the color seems to be ok but the cladding fitting were lose, the approximate cost as of today was 65K, tomorrow they are going to close the Job card after initial inspection and then insurance inspection will happen.

I hope the color matches, once the vehicle is cleaned and serviced then a better judgment on the paint would be possible. The sticker is going to take one more week till then I am not going to keep the vehicle in service center.

@ pramod : No way it can be 40 - 40K.

Fight for it, it si your right & your hard earned money. They have to pay 100% metal & 100% labour. 50% plastic. You car is abolutely new. they need to cover everything.

are you getting the single hub cap of the rear wheel replaced? most A.S.S claim the hub cap is not available as a single piece.

Yes, the hub cap will be replaced "single piece" but currently not in stock will run that way at least for a week from tomorrow, they promised that sticker and hub cap has been ordered and "will be charged" but only be delivered next week!

-Pramod
PS: I will also inquire the sticker and hub cap in the other service center, but for that I still need my vehicle, service center don't sale any spare directly, you need to open a jobcard and then that spare if available will be assigned to that, last time in the older VLX with simple hubcap I got it from the other service center, will try again who know I may be lucky again!

pramod, sorry to hear about your scorpio's accident.Hopefull it would come out with same colour and finish as it was. Also do fight for 100% metal and labour with insurance company,as your vehicle and insurance is new and you have rights to claim them, only 50% would be paid by you for glass and plastics which i dont think would come out to 40K.

Thanks guys for your suggestion, I called service center to inquire about the vehicle, the news is the vehicle is ready for delivery and the final bill has been sent to insurance company, they are yet to hear from insurance, looks like I would have to wait one more day!!

received the vehicle yesterday, stickers and hub cap are yet available, I have seen scratches on the new glass and there is no other piece available, once that is available they are going to change that, I have not taken any images as of now, once the vehicle is complete that I believe would take another week to get the parts and get it fixed. All these sticker[VLX sticker and Automatic sticker] and hub cap has been charged and paid, but waiting to get it on vehicle.

The total bill came as 61K and 48K was paid by insurance and 13K paid by me, most of these are for the plastic part.
