This is hilarious. lol How can he refuse to sell you a car!? If you have decided on the S, you should get it irrespective of what the moronic dealer tells you. He must have a vested reason for pushing you towards a non-S car. Maybe he wants to give you some car lying in his yard for too long etc. The S is usually made on-demand, so you are assured of a brand new car.

If you are above 30, has less show off mind, on a regular family use purpose and value the rear folding seat, rear centre arm rest, rear adjustable head rests, softer suspension etc. (none of them are in S version), SXI or ZXI (only airbag is missing now) is for you.

The airbag is not there only on ZXi and Exi variants
(surprise no report on EXi so far - seems no one buying this variant?)

thanks will keep in mind, one last query relates to difference in mileage between the two

I meant only airbag is missing in the ZXI now. EXI is anyway the basic variant, there are too many things missing from other variants, so cant compare.

Mileage difference is just marginal as the 1.6 engine is same in every variant.

Mileage in the S will be lesser as you will tend to rev it harder. The S runs a different ECU map which results in better power delivery but at the cost of FE. I haven't done a proper calculation yet but I think I am getting around 10 in mine in city driving with 100% AC on.
