I think that this and many other feeders to the effect in other words mean that demand has tapered off significantly, and we would soon start seeing lower numbers for the fortuner post march unless they do a feature/ or AT / or interiors refresh soon.

It could be the combined effect of Santa fe, Yeti, X1 and Aria to varying degrees meeting the overall needs of potential customers.

OT:
ACM, I have been following your wonderful and meticulous ownership report of Aria. It beats me though that one still doesnt see many Aria's on the road! Whats your analysis?

It is OT but since you asked, in short on this fortuner thread:

Aria looks like a premium Innova and the features and spec angle combined with the pricing does not seem to hit too many. I have seen 5 on mumbai roads and all coincidentally have been the same colour as mine - night shade back. I have on the other hand not seen any Santa Fe, or Yeti both of which were launched around the same time and are supposed to do well. I later realized that even the fortuners were not seen in that many a number immediately after sale though I used to keep an Eye out for it.

Also Initially Aria deliveries were delayed and it was hard to get hands on one in less than 4-6 weeks, I used some contacts to get mine sooner.

I think it will be doing sub 500 units per month kind of numbers initially till momentum builds up, lets see the Jan numbers due in less than 10 days.

That is a bit OT so will keep it short at that. Now back to the fortuner.

Param:

Indian version doesn't come with cloth seats, so I guess this is the low end spec Middle east version.

Hope the LED lights make it to India, if not the cloth seats..

Wasn't your training a long time back? The LEDs are cool. Hope they make it to our shores soon. Any changes to the interiors? If Toyota brings in the non-leather version, two wheel drive, and price it around 17 ex-showroom... I know I'm dreaming...

But knowing Toyota and their long response times, I'm not sure if the quicker delivery times would push them to launch the Fortuner with these minor upgrades.

Then why these mysterious close up of floor mats. We have seen floor mats in India. You can put full photos...

re: Review: 1st-gen Toyota Fortuner

Just got back from late night/early morning flight from kuwait back to dubai and now uploading FRESH photos of 2WD AT Fortuner.

yes those earlier photos are from my previous kuwait trip.

the close up photos are not of the floors matts, but of the blue ambience lights which are reflecting the blue light on the floor matts, maybe because of the camera flash the blue light is not very much visibile.

anyway here are the photos of LHD gulf spec 2WD AT Fortuner. rear wheel drive with switch for the diff locks!

compared to the 4WD it had turn indicators on the ORVM, front bumber plastic nudge bar, LED tail lights but no roof rails.

its a rear wheel drive in 2WD AT version.

enjoy the photos, but pls excuse the low quality mobile phone pics.

photos 3 and 6 are of the 4WD version, i have put them to show the difference between the 4WD and 2WD fortuner. you can clearly see the difference in the two fortuner's front axles, one is of 4WD and the other is of 2WD.

re: Review: 1st-gen Toyota Fortuner

I hate the wood use on the interior.
This engine is the petrol 2.7L engine. Would the 3.0 D4-D be offered with the automatic?

I love the LED rear tail lights though.
