One version says change it at 40000km, the other says change it after 3 years irrespective of mileage.
Pls suggest and help if you have gone through this process. |
i10 AT is filled with ATF SP-III which is good for about 150,000 kms (aka eternity ) under normal driving conditions. The owner's manual says to inspect it at every 10,000 kms. However, it also says to replace it every 40,000 kms under 'severe usage conditions'. As per Hyundai manual, the 'severe usage conditions' are defined as:
A: Repeated short distance driving
C: Driving in dusty, rough roads
D: Driving in areas using salt or other corrosive materials or in very cold weather
E: Driving in sandy areas
F: More than 50% driving in heavy traffic during hot weather above 32 degree C (90 deg F)
G: Driving in mountainous areas
H: Towing a trailer
I: Driving for patrol car, taxi, commercial car or vehicle towing
J: Driving in very cold weather
I would say check the ATF at 40,000 - 50,000 kms for signs of darkness and take a call accordingly.
My apologies for the late reply.
