Yesterday i got a call from Hyundai Chennai regarding this and the person said he will look in to this. And the person said they have not listed this feature in the brochure. But i have the copy of the brochure in which all features are listed as standard fitments.

Whats your suggestions friends..
Not providing illumination in the glove box is shocking, even mine top end diesel i20 does not have it. The glove box does have some small holes at the top not sure what they are for. I checked with the service center guys and they say it is available only for the European versions.

Does the MID of all i20's dim a little when the headlights are switched on?

Note :- Got the auto locking feature enabled, the only problem is they have set it at 40 kph

After reading this, I did a quick check of the Brochure available with me but the above features weren't listed in the brochure
One would definitely like to have illumination in the glove box and since rbp mentioned that there are holes provided in the glove box, does that mean its space for a separate illumination to be fitted? maybe it can be fitted just like wildon did with Rheostat Illumination Control

Is the setting only available for 40kph? but I had read sometime back in this same thread, where jraj had mentioned that it can be at your preferred speed, say 20 instead of 40.

Safin,
Just got off the phone with the service advisor who enabled this in my car.
When he said,we can set it at desired speed,I mistook it.But he just confirmed that it can be done for any speeds but min is 40kmph.You cant get them lock automatically less than 40kmph.

Actually it does and it's very normal. Even on an other car the digital clock is very bright at startup and as soon as the lights are switched on, the clock dims. Quite obvious, actually.

Well this helps you to find out whether your F.A.T.C (Fully automatic temperature control) unit is working properly. If there is no problem the code will show as 00 like in that short video. It was a 30 min video and for easy viewing i cut short into 40 sec as my a/c unit is working properly and it displays only 00.

Here are the other codes which will display if any of the component related to F.A.T.C malfunctions.

00 = Normal
11 = In-car temparature sensor open
12 = In-car temparature sensor short
13 = Ambient temparature sensor open
14 = Ambient temparature sensor short
17 = Evaporator temparature sensor open
18 = Evaporator temparature sensor short
19 = Temparature control actuator feed back open
20 = Temparature control actuatore failure
21 = Mode Control actuator open
21 = Mode control actuator short
22 = Mode control actuator failure
25 = Intake potentiometer open
25 = Intake potentiometer short
26 = Intake potentiometer failure

give me few min so i can explain it with the help of a picture as how to get into this mode.

To get into the self diagnosis mode

1. Put the key into the ignition hole
2. Turn the key into ON position so the dashboard lights illuminates (No starting of engine)
3. Press and hold the OFF button, then press the MODE button more than 4 times within 2seconds
Feels like i'm 20 now - Hyundai i20 Asta 1.2-fatc.jpg
4. The you can see the Display unit of a/c illuminates like in the video and display codes starts blinking.
5. Now the diagnosis starts
6. press the A/C button to proceed to next step
7. after completion it will come into the original condition
8. Incase if you wants to quit anytime press OFF button

I compared the e-brochure with the brochure available with me and Yes e-brochure does mention Vanity mirror and Ticket holder in the features list,which isnt there in my brochure but it also comes with a disclaimer at the bottom [check attached pic], while Body Coloured radiator grill is present even in the brochure available with me

Other noteable things present in the e-brochure and not in the regular brochure are 1) DTE(Distance to Empty) Signal 2)Illuminated Glove Box

Wow, this is all so fascinating, somehow I really like the way you tinker with your car and run around procuring alarms and digging out other info about it what's more, it really helps the rest of us too !! I'm pretty sure there's some electronic trickery hidden somewhere within this car which enables it to go into stealth mode or travel at warp speed... or transform into Bumblebee maybe.
