Hi

Has anyone faced issues with locking the door? I own a month old jazz x , about 2 weeks ago my father got out from the rear seat and tried closing the door but the door would not close and it felt like the door lock had got stuck in locked position.

The problem got resolved when I pulled the interior door open lever to its maximum and then closed the door. The same problem manifested itself on the front left hand door day before and got resolved in the same way.

Thanks and Regards
Sibi

i think quite a few more along with me had the issue of door not closing if you dont use enough force. Ask the Service to fix it. It was typically the rear doors that gave this issue. Even now sometimes i feel it doesnt shut properly.

Quick question to Jazz owners, does the fuel gauge turn red or amber when in reserve (6litres)? Can one suspect a faulty fuel gauge if it's stuck in amber, even after fuelling 15 litres? Range shows 0; indicator reads almost empty.

Yes - the Fuel indicator amber blinker comes on typically when Range gets near 40. But to second part - few others have also reported this bug.
Kindly get this fixed at the service station. It had to be faulty gauge.

ALso my general ills with jazz.
1. Rattles - from all sides ;dashboard, glovebox, parcel tray. Mine is 5 mth 5k old one.
2. Steering vibration and even the entire car vibration at speeds beyond 120&+. THere s also a whooish sound emanating at that speed. NOt sure if this is due to stock Good year tyres.

1. I too had a couple of small rattles, were fixed at service, no problems thereafter. Much better than my Swift, where there were lots of rattles that they never could fix. I guess our road conditions do play a part.
2. Wheel balancing seems to be the culprit here. Jazz top speed anyway will be around 140 kmph (which I never would do on the stock goodyears). The whoosh sound is probably a beading/door setting issue (which may also be the cause of some rattles).

Hi

I too had the same feeling that sales is trying to push select model. I had by Jazz X delivered in June.

With X you get sports type alloys ( slight grey in colour rather than silver) , motorized folding of external rear view mirror , fog lamps, height adjustable driver seats. Rest is the same as select.

If these suite your requirements go for X ( price difference was about 20 K between select and X when i booked in march.

Last year i believe the X had spolier and reverse sensor as standard fitting. Both are not present now.

Sibi

Would the Grey Alloys look good with Urban Titanium or would White be a better colour for the Grey Alloys?
The X Kit-- Would that look better with UT or White? soemhow no showrooms have cars on display ..:Frustrati .. IF we dont put the Xkit ( esp the grill i guess you would remain with a Black grill?

ninja, I am the last person to have a right to ask anyoen for any updates/ threads. just see my TL/ ownership experience threads.
I guess the only one I am regular at is the one I rant on and on. @mikon must be thinking of putting me up for adoption by now.

What is the waiting period like on the base variant of Jazz. The dealer told me for specific model and color I might have to wait for upto 4-5 months even. I am talking about a delivery in Chennai here.

Your best bet would be to check with all Honda dealers in Chennai and find out the one who has ready stock of the base Jazz. That is how I did it here in Mumbai.

Rahul

Took delivery of an Urban Titanium Jazz X from Dakshin Honda on the 30th. Not done much travelling yet. But boy am I in love with the car! :D

lol - he ain't that active either! :)

Note: People looking at buying a Jazz from Pune, do keep a check if you are given this old(er) Jazz - by the VIN number it seemed to be atleast a few months old. By just looking at the (amount of dirt on the) car in the yard, one could make out it's been lying there for quite some time. Posting a picture of the VIN of that car.

I can understand the helmet sitting on the boot of the City to the right. but what is that plastic water bottle doing near the exhaust of the City on the left?!

no no, its not because of my long pending TL, its because of my unending rants on the returning to India thread

Actually the helmet was our fault, we shouldn't have kept it on any of the cars. Realized it immediately after I took that picture!

Even I found the bottle a bit of a puzzle. Found out later it belonged to one of the guys who maintain the yard - after he picked it up while we were leaving.

I think you rant on a lot of threads, no? :D Maybe we should discuss this on our next coffee meet!

Hi

i had initially booked the Urban titanium colour, its very impressive to look at in x Variant ( with the alloys matching). you should see for yourself.

I would have bouth it if it was not for my wife :-). Finally had to give up to her argument of me being stuck with the colour. My 2000 model santro which I was replacing with the JAZZ was also of same colour ( Modern grey as hyundai calls it). I agree to her 12 years of one colour is too much :-).

I am not quite sure of the X kit though. The x variant comes with the same honey comb black grill that comes with the base variant but i felt it looks more in place than the one that comes with X kit. well its a matter of taste. More over the kit costs about 8000/- in Kerala.

Dear Vignesh

For me the problem got resolved by pulling door open lever , on inside to its maximum. My father is used to just pulling the lever just enough to open the door ( was using Santro before for 12 years and never faced any problem like this). Will definitely mention during my 2nd service. thank you.

I too had some rattles but most always turned out to be some thing my kid or wife put in the boot. I am very happy on that part.

Thanks and regards

Thanks for the information buddy. Many people I knowhave been considering buying a Jazz and I must say they have taking a liking to my car :)

Is this the Bafna yard or the Crystal yard?

A bit OT, but any idea why Honda is going the Ford way? We will give you a quick delivery of the Jazz only so long as it is white?
