Hi Ritzers .. My 43k ran Ritz vdi developed oil leak. Taken car to Autoteam kochi and it was diagnosed as some sealant issue. Then need to open gearbox for fixing the sealant. On my side extended warranty was helpful and Autoteam charged me for car full wash and brake fluid only. It seems my suspension is also on weaker side but Autoteam said only if there is oil leak from struts it will be considered for replacement under warranty.

All, it seems post gearbox repair for oil leak, there is an humming noise from engine while idling. Noticed the same for last two days. Any idea what could be the reason ?

Does the noise vanish when you depress the clutch pedal?
If yes, then it's the input shaft bearing in the gearbox which has gone kaput.

Re: Maruti Ritz : Test Drive & Review

So, my Ritz VDi ABS has completed 35K kms till date. The 40K service was done last month.

The vehicle requires couple of cranks to get started. Weak Battery could be problem?
If yes, will a battery get worn out at 35K kms in 3.5 years?

Hi Prodigy07,

I suggest that you get the battery checked at either the Maruti Service Centre or some battery shop to determine if your battery is okay.

BTW the original battery of my Ritz lasted 4 years.

Re: Maruti Ritz : Test Drive & Review

I have a Pioneer 80PRS system in my Ritz VDi which displays the battery voltage.

With this I noticed the voltage to be fluctuating between 12.8 to 13V when the engine is switched on.
It normally stays at 14.2V.

So, I didn't want to take any chances.

Got Amaron GO for Rs5500/- after exchanging my old battery. Now, the vehicle starts at the very first crank

With this new battery, does your pioneer system display 14.2 volt also?

On the older battery:

1) What was the voltage when ignition is ON?

2) What was the cranking voltage?

The system now displays 14.3V even when the A/C is functioning.

1) Was varying between 12.8 V to 13V for the last 2 weeks. Last saturday it was varying between 11.8 to 12.8V

2) I didn't have a multimeter to check that :(

Issues with Ritz

Facing two issues with my Ritz 2010 petrol. 1). The clutch has turned hard which the ASS has quoted as approx 8500/- for replacement. should i get it done in a friendly neighbourhood garage.

2). Vibration in exhaust pipe with AC on which is quite irritating to hear sitting inside the car. The same ASS has worked on many times but unable to fix and have finally suggested to change the exhaust pipe quoted approx 5500/-

Please suggest possible remedy. Thanks in advance.

1. How many kms has the car done ? While you could save on labour charges in an FNG I will still suggest you stick with the A.S.S. It's upto you though. I would go with the service centre simply because I like to stick to MASS and also due to lack of a reliable FNG at my place.
2. Not quite getting this. Does this vibration disappear with the AC switched off ? And does this happen while idling or driving ?

Was it a direct fit to the H8 socket ? How are the lamps performing till now ?
Also did you need a relay ?

Btw the car completed one year and 16000 kms this month and this is how it looks. The alloys were a DIY job last month.

.
Yes it was a direct fit and no relay was used. I sold my Ritz 6 months back and bought an Ertiga; now the same bulb pair is doing duty in my Ertiga without any issues. But compared to Ritz, I feel the Ertiga lights are not that great.

Aren't the H11 fog lamps 55W bulbs rating whereas H8 are 35W? Have you noticed any issues or blackening of the reflectors?

I am thinking of doing the same. If you don't mind, can you please post two pictures of the H8 and H11 fog lamp bulbs?
