Btw has anyone got any TD reviews? Any links? Any info about the mileage ?
@ Budhiraj - Any pics of the Morello color to get an idea?
Harry, you can find pics of the Morello in this review link.
Review

No info about the mileage so far, but should definitely be good.

Absence of remote boot release and lack of tubeless tyres were my grouses even in 2006 when i bought my car. You can always opt to change the tyres post delivery, while remote boot release is definitely expensive for the price being asked.

@ Budhiraj : Few things i would like answer in one post ;-)

1. I have got the spoiler from the dealer (yes its expensive but i got it as part of accessories in lieu of my corporate discount). I never faced any problem of water leaking into the boot even in heavy rains.

2. Platinum: is a dull color as everybody said. Please see it yourself in the dealer's lot. Insist that the sales guy takes you to the stock yard and see the plantinum colored car and decide for yourself. Personally i didnt like it.

3. Act tough with the dealer and see if you can push that delivery date to bit early, write to Ford India using their website.

In my case i threatned to cancel my booking when they said the supposed corporate discount cannot applied since i wanted the car to be registered on my Wife's name. Instead the sales guy made good offer for similar amount by throwing in 13K worth accessories, cobra ani theft system and free insurance. Forgot to add this happened in Dec2007

All the best!

Cheers!

Strange, isn't it? IIRC Ford used to sell the 1.6 with 14 inchers as standard. Why take a step back? Here is my best-buds Ikon....the tyres are stock, the alloys aren't.

Thanks for the nice words about the car and color. Morello is a darker shade of what i have on my car. Looks more like maroon, under different lighting conditions.

Last time i checked, remote boot release was at 6k. Didnt bother to check following that. Condor should have an updated list. Check the other review thread.

GTO, the 1.6 used to come with the 14"ers, while the 1.3 always had 13"ers. I guess they have now opted for the 13"ers as standard across the diesel and the petrol, possibly for economies of scale, or else reasons best known to them. I feel tubeless should have been offerred as standard as well.

Harry,

1. I agree. stupid.
2. Its okay. The stock tubeless tyres are anyways junk and can let you down in most serious situations. And they'll just sell 50 bucks cheaper than the 250 apiece that I've been offered for the Swift OEM tyres in Karol bagh

Folks went yesterday to the dealer for the details of the delievery.

1. Delievery:-

The Delievery for Morello will be done in first week of December, latest by 10th so thinking of waiting till then.

2. Accessories from Ford:-

While waiting for the confirmation went to the Ford accessories place in the showroom here are the rates and accessories I am considering, please suggest

Spoiler:- Older one at 5000
New onw at 6000 (Something simlar to what is coming in Fiesta S, was looking really cool)

Side Biddings or door protectors:- Price 1000 (will be having them definitely)

Boot release:- Price 6300 (Not sure to go)

Chrome strip:- Price 3100 ( Though exp. but still considering bcoz the no. plate place looks empty)

Combo Pack disc:- Chrome strip and Boot release at 6700 instead of 9400

Paint Job;- Price 3000 for door handles and OVRMS

Dear Bhpians, kindly key in your suggestion for the above!

Sir, sven 1.6's used to come with 13"ers. I have a 2003 1.6 & it is running on current stock size of 13"ers

He must be highly ignorant to say that. Take a look at 1100D's Gallery to see a 1.6 with stock 14"ers.

@Pankaj, i may have been wrong in assuming all 1.6s' had 14"ers. Thanks for pointing that out.

I booked the new ikon tdci and color is panther black. I was promised a deliver on dec 1st week. Infact i cancelled swift vdi for this.
Few things i need clarification from you guys.
1) Will it be expensive to opt for extended warranty/TMP afterwards say ,like after all free services .Or will it be wise to opt for now itself. As i'm very tight on finance i thought of cutting nonessential parts.
2)Is an underbody coating really essential to prevent from rusting?

Congrats bullboy. That makes you the third one on the forum to make it public, although from what i know you are the fourth.

Now to your questions:
1.) Having the Extended Warranty is surely helpful. If you can, please do purchase it. IIRC, the earlier you buy it, the cheaper it is. Not sure, though.
2.) Underbody coating is not required as of now. If you really do feel the need for it, you can always get it done later. Save that money, and use it for something else of greater priority.
