The Imported Engines even though it is older than the HM Isuzu engines, the cost is more...japanese make is always a great one.
Used Engines are guaranteed for another around 2 lakh kms...
Only drawback you can say is,Service (Oil change, filter change) is 5000 to 6000 kms.But that too i am using only 20w-40 engine oil 5.5 litres cost around 1300..
I have no idea about diesel engines and which one would be the best fit, how much would they cost and their spare parts availability. Which one would you recommend and at what cost, would it be a direct fit retaining my gear box.

Dear Musicmanaman,
The Isuze Imported engines are very good in pick up and you can feel the performance of that when you drive it.
I dont think, there will be many alterations needed for this.Only thing the engine bed will positions will be changed.Anyway am not sure about it.
Gear box ,we can use the same one.Since am using the petrol engine gear box only. There is no difference in it.

G1 - 2400 cc with 84 bhp.
D1 - 2200 cc.
C1 - 2000 cc.
B1 - 1800 cc.

Used G1 engines which were imported,we can get around 60000 to 70000..Other engines we can get it less than 50000 it self.

Hey M!
G1 sounds good eh 84 bhp has me drooling at the thought of it!
Another thought - I don't know if you've managed to focus the headlamps but mine continue to wake up sleeping birds on trees. So...I was thinking of maybe getting projector headlamps. In spite of reading multiple posts on the site on these I'm still kind of confused about the differences but what I did manage to derive was that the projectors do not rely on a reflector to focus and that could really solve my issue. Recently took the 2011 Passat for a drive o the hills and after that I feel kind of blind in the Avigo No comparisons here but maybe that's one thing we could take from these modern cars. What say?
I go to Thailand fairly often in my line of work and was thinking of maybe picking up something from there ( which would be considerably cheaper!) but the problem is that I have no idea what to look for. Any ideas? Anyone?

The Avigo head lights always point skywards, I don't have a recent photo I suppose but I have gotten 2 additional focus lights on my car and they focus towards the road and do a fairly decent job, I'll try and post a pick soon.

Re: '99 Zen to '04 Ambassador Avigo 1800 ISZ EDIT: Pics on pg. 2

Over the last couple of days, I tried almost all hatch's and a few sedans like Logan, Accent, Verna etc, I thought may be I should sell the Amby and buy one of these, but nothing is giving me the satisfaction that I get in the Amby, in terms of space, seating height, backseat comfort, go anywhere feel etc, very confused, as even if I want to change no car seems to satisfy me like the Amby.

Amby by the way is going rock solid, as I said before it's a war machine, and I call it "The Bull".

Hi Musicmanaman,
I have driven a petrol amby 2009 model or 2010,But am not sure.It was around 20000 kms done.

This is the first time am driving a new amby with Petrol Isuzu.

The engine sound.Wow its great. No sound and while driving in around 70 to 80,it was engine noise is too less.

My friend told that he is only getting 12kmpl in the highways.

The petrol Amby is really fantastic to drive, the engine is in it's sweet spot between 70-90 kmph, and yes it'll give about 7-8 kmpl in city and 11-12 kmpl on the highway with AC full on.

No sound in a petrol Isuzu is not strange ; I hardly heard any sound when I travelled in a Isuzu diesel amby way back in 2000 ; the car effortlessly did 110-120 and was told proudly by the driver that she had done 2,50,000kms

Are you selling it to Tim May and ultimately for repatriation to UK? Put in details friend. I saw your post in May's thread. If it is so, good.
