Shankar, nice review on the Scorp. I really do like the way you have managed to make the plain looks (no cladding, i mean) quite appealing.

Shankar.balan- that is a nice review with good detailing. I've not driven a scorpio with a mHawk engine and wasnt really impressed by its performance. Power came in only after 3000 rpm & 1500-1800 there was a distinguishing drag.
Not atleast like the commercial claimed.

you are absolutely right

the same thing used to happen in my bolero and now happens in my scorp
largely because the OE wheels are 5.5 inches wide and the alloys are a full inch wider.

the thing is that you need to put those slightly wider mudflaps on the vehicle to prevent this mud flapping but with those wider mudflaps, the vehicle is going to look like it is wearing some strange garment on its feet!

but this is one way of dealing with it.
Plus change the front bumper as per the new bolero and scorpio and you will be able to avoid the water splashing onto the bonnet when you go through water bodies.

My Bolero throws a lot of mud on itself all thanks to its alloys.

thanks
your finding on MHAWK is interesting
however, if you drove a demo vehicle plse consider that others before you may have ill treated the vehicle and it may not have been serviced before you drove it.
cheers

thanks
actually I rather preferred the plain non cladded look over the other
and incidentally, the cladding tends to work loose over time and then with the gap between the body panel and the cladding, it is a perfect place for water to sit, causing corrosion
this is what 2 friends of mine who had 2002-2003 model scorpios said
I prefer a slightly understated, relatively anonymous vehicle - or else you end up looking like either a politician or small time real estate chap! (apologies if I hurt any sentiments here)

Anup, nice image; hope I can do this route sometime in this life!

I own the new Bolero. The extensions on the front bumpers are just taped on (not bolted on). One drive over rough roads and they would be flying across.

Can you please post the cost, and any idea how much price difference was there between the Scorpion STR and Scorpion ATR or Scorpion AT.

Sorry, adc, can't really help you there. These were bought from a dealer on an exchange basis in place of the brand new factory fitted tyres. I paid an additional Rs 11000/- for the five STRs.
I did not ask about the ATs and the ATRs.

anupmathur:What's holding you back, Jammy? Oh oh, I know.
It's Jammy!
Get into your Santro and go!
Anupji, wow, you are partly right - my wife drives a Santro (me, a Palio of 2003 vintage) . But what's the connect between 'Jammy' & Santro - didn't get that...

cheers,

I took a peek of your user profile and saw that you are sitting with two cars both of which can do the Ladakh trip.
So what's holding you back? My reasoning is that it is YOU holding yourself back - Jammy is holding Jammy back! Of course you can do this trip in this life - YOU have to make it happen!
If your Palio is well maintained you can go in that. There is also the Santro.
