My bro was about to overtake the moped. All of a sudden it started raining, the moped guy in an attempt to take shelter under a tree on the right side of the road, took a steep lane change. Bro wasn't able to avoid the collision hit the moped. Nothing happed to the rider and the moped. But the car had a severe damage (blame it on the pedestrian safety). It hit exactly on the left front corner so the damage was more.
I would thank the Lord for the guy escaping unhurt. It could have been worse.

The name comes from Engineer Bill Fair and Mathematician Earl Isaac. I would name my company Lovely Newton from Fair & Lovely and Isaac Newton . Friday is fine but VKJ may still be out of town.

Meanwhile I have recieved a call and an email from Skoda customer care. Nothing new uptill here except that this time the call came from Bangalore office (Lavelle Road, I didn't know they had an office here). I'll take some time and draft a nice long email.

By centre console do you mean the AC knobs area or the thing that houses the speedometer. The speedometer thing in my car used to make squeaky noise whenever I went on a long drive. Got it fixed, it was just a glue job.

k_ajay: The Benz CLK went via the Team-Bhp ad, but I've no clue if the new owner is of the flock!

BTW another Benz ad coming up in a tick...same garage, this time an S-class (500, no less).

Bet they both drive Fabias (one to cart apples- posthumous apples, the other to ferry sheet music).

My my.. Hmmmm.. Someone's talking of naming his 'own company' in such difficult and troubled times... Pray, may I ask if there would be opening for project manager and handsome pay?

Oh! Dampner... Anyway, you guys carry on with the meet on Saturday/Sunday, but do post here and keep us aware. If the slot is possible for me to accomodate too, I'll join you Wind Tunnel blokes for the fishy meet..

Oh nice.. More Benz coming?? Say RG, you've become a stealth underground pre-owned cars dealer for Daimler Chrysler?

k_ajay:

Benz Dealer? Ha ha- sure. A commission on this one would have bought me a small house with enough change left over to holiday in Europe! This one is really impressive- long and luscious. Pics posted y'day. I shan't add them here or I shall be hallaled/koshered/excommunicated (Henry the VIII was gelatined). That said, if you gents know of anyone with a proclivity for being transported in style (and 45 of the BIG ones spare) Call me (Debbie Harry).

Was a Friday meet planned? Must have missed it; however Friday is difficult for moi as probably is Saturday (might need to stir the pot for dinner guests). That leaves Sunday.

If it suits the quorum (oh darn...forgot my promise of using LCM English).

You guys go, I'll try.

Madrash, how is your car after the AC Blower replacement? hope the left side "thunk" has gone away. Meanwhile, to update on the AC Blower change in our town, we had talked to the dealer and it goes on like this:

Cast: SK-Shykrish, ME-Mysticeyes, MS-SKoda dealer, WE1- Warranty Engineer, WE2- Warranty Engineer

ringgg..ringgg..ringgg...hello..**** skoda
SK - I want to talk to concerned person regarding the AC Blower replacement under warranty
MS - Sorry sir, this is the sales dept., you better ring up the service dept.
ringg..ringgg..ringgg... hello..*** skoda
SK - I want to talk to concerned person regarding the AC Blower replacement under warranty
MS - Sir, you can talk to the warranty engineer in the following number ********
ringgg..ringg..ringgg..hello..
SK - I want to inquire regarding the AC Blower replacement under warranty
WE1 - yes sir, there is an option for AC blower replacement under warranty. however, the same is out of stock and if you want it, we can place an order. However, you have to prove that your car is less than 2 year old.
SK - Thank you..

After 5 minutes, it was my turn to ring up:

ringgg..ringgg..ringgg...hello..**** skoda
ME - I want to talk to concerned person regarding the AC Blower replacement under warranty
MS- Sir, I would give you another number, you can talk to the concerned person
ringgg..ringgg..ringgg...hello..
ME- I want to inquire regarding the AC Blower replacement under warranty
WE2- Sir, do you sometimes get a left side noise?
ME - Yes, but only while driving through rough patches
WE2 - Does it come from the left side or right side?
ME - Left side
WE2 - Sir, Skoda has acknowledged the left side issue and we would ge happy to serve you by tightening the nuts of the blower. We don't have the provision for replacement is not needed
ME - I prefer replacement since it is being carried out in other states
WE2 - Sir, where did you get the information from?
ME - I got it from my friends in Chennai/ Mumbai. So how come Kerala doesn't have the replacement under warranty?
WE2 - Sir, we can inspect the blower and if required, change it under warranty. However, its not required.
ME - I prefer replacement
WE2- Sir, please don't consider Chennai/ Mumbai. atmospheric conditions are very much different and hence they might need replacement. Kerala is different, we can settle for tightening
ME- I hope both of us and my car is in India. Hope the warranty is valid for Kerala too since Kerala is in India. We can talk coming saturday face to face
WE2- Ok Sir, but you've to prove your car is not more than 2 year old.

This, shows the *** attitude. I'm restraining myself from saying more. ANyway, Shykrish and myself has decided to turn up at the dealer on saturday morning with a wide smile and make up the day for them. and boy, we didn't know that fabia was launched in 2008 only. how fast the time fly Does anyone know where we can obtain birth certificates for automobiles?

fi.robin: Hey...salary just in, isn't it?
just jokin...it is a supremely gorgeous machine and I can vouch for it. Sadly, I'm not in that league either.

I once considered an old 500 SEL (mid 80s) with the gracious lines and stately look. Then figured where the Hell was I going to drive/park it. I had a niggling doubt it would not even negotiate the bends into the M'palya area where I reside, so gave up and -now in retrospect- wisely went in for the FireBlade.
Changed my life.

Mysticeyes: Aha...give them the once over, then hit them again. Relentless pressure works. Spiced with some Press. Then add some testimonials for good measure.

You got their number all right!

Morning, guys

The Fabiosi were rather silent across the weekend and I hope it's because they hived off to bucolic places with picnic hamper, camera, tripod and heaps of gas!

I was lazy. My baby has a sheen of dust on her like the patina on a recently unearthed Egyptian mummy. But the owner managed to get some fuel into his system- to flush the pipes, found the bandwidth to cook some crazy exotic victuals and generally burned down phone lines hunting for a set of '2' wheels.

Not much else to report.
I'm nearing the 10K kms mark, so the only thing on the anvil is to rotate the tyres. Need inputs from Ye gents when that comes up.

Robin: good to see you at the traffic lights.
Rest of the Bangalore Lodge: Did ye meet over coffee or anything? I'd heard whispers of a proposed meet, but it musta been so secret, nothing was divulged: NOT the venue, Not the Quorum, Not the NEW secret handshake of Ze Members!
In others words: it's a July Morning syndrome.

Good to see you too at the lights, this time in the evening . I was stay put at home whole of Saturday and Sunday (doing some office chores).

Friday being a holiday, we set out for a Mango Trip. After lunch we decided to go for a drive to a random village. Picked up our friend from Marathalli and headed towards Hosur. On the Hosur - krishnagiri stretch we took a random left to enjoy the country side. It was a nice half a day trip, away from the chaos of Bangalore. We did steal some Mangoes. Ah, relived my memory of 'mango chor' from yesteryears .

I too have to do the tyre rotation thing. Waiting for inputs.

MadRash: 16 years since I visited Pondy. 'Fired' is the operative word in a very deep Gallic-Tamil way. How long is the drive there? Roads any good? did you explore the unique cuisines? I tried Vietnamese but desisted from the French as it was too expensive.

OOPS. SORRY. Meant 'fried'. got wrong-footed in the heat of the moment

p.s. Robin: your car looks terrific in that light. It's not a common colour- I've yet to see another on the road so boy, you got exclusivity!

seems lazy bugs seems to be biting fabiosis as soon as it nears weekends. the idea to give the service guys a welcome smile on last saturday didn't materialize as I was thrown out of gear (health wise). however, shykrish got his car after its 3rd service. he was with the car for the entire period watching carefully to make sure that 'no screws were left out' he also inquired about the AC blower replacement with the senior engineer and was advised to try the screw tightening at first. seems too much screws are flying around.

@ robin-u sure know how to make a guy hungry again. those scenes reminds of the good ol' bangalore visits when we would scamper off the road you mentioned in search of some country life or the lovely bus journey to bangalore where the same sceneries would unwind for miles and miles once we leave the kerala border

to tell the truth, i got 'indisposed' for few days due to some over-experimentation with some exotic food items and now, sustaining myself on 'english marie' biscuts
