I think there is another red fabia around. You prefer the beige and I always wished to get the the silver fabi with black interiors and get the seats done in black leather with Alcantara with silver stitch. Something like in the below pic. Would love to have that. How about an exchange of interior panel that way you get the beige and I get the black

Thanks AK, Invinsible, Fardan,

I didn't expect that you guys liked the snaps, anyways appreciation is always good!

@AK yes your guess is correct, its a 1.4 TDI elegance.

@Fardan yes you are right, I was the first to get the red on THIS THREAD! cannot guarantee on other threads and across the forum in fact as confirmed by the only two dealers in Bangalore, I was first in Jayanagar and second in Bangalore to pick the Fabia[ or ]

@Invinsible the choice of color was a big headache to me then, I wanted to go for white, but my wife was inclined towards black, this was the result

Folks: Have any of you found the seat reclining knob to be difficult or hard to use? I find it extremely uncomfortable to use this rorating knob for adjusting the recline on the seat...
aK
k_ajay: I too agree (with someone below) that said the knob gives infinitely variable adjustment versus the stepped setting of the lever. But, it is awkwardly placed when the seat is moved back.

I don't know why and have never thought of trying it ever before, but the snaps of this red Fabia, especially in twilight, are simply mesmerizing.

Congrats on a wonderful car. Is that a 1.4 TDI elegance, btw?

aK
k_ajay: Nice, eh? Red really is hot, and the photography works magic. Mesmerizing is an apt word.

You play safe you stay safe.

EGR stands for Exhaust Gas Recirculation
Thanks for the pics and illumination. Heap of carbon you had there. Great presence of mind to click the pixels to illustrate the point and educate us.

Thanks, Sir.

VKJ: Great pics. I like the use of cabin lights in the last pics. It looks class. I like the back side light pattern of Fabia, a typical Skoda "C" danger lights.
Some time back I was driving to a near by town at night in a zen. My bro came in the opposite side in my Fabia. After few words, when we proceed with our journey I parked the zen on the road side and just looked at the Fabia's danger lights until it went out of sight. I love my car a lot.

BTW, I too have a red TDI classic.

Thank you for giving some expert's thought. But in Fabia the knob is a bit too close to the B pillar. :(

Having 2 horn helps when I am city I make use of the OE horn in city and when on highway or want to shoo away the ricks I use the Stebel. At times I use both by one hand on the steering horn pad and the other hand on stebel and it sounds like a mini train horn
Whatever it is it does a great job. Stebel has the output of 135db compared to OE which would be around 100-110DB. Just wondering what if I put 2 STEBEL horn
I'm hearing about this Stebel Nautiles horn for a while. Will try to fit it in my car.

Invisible: Can you please provide some more information on the Stebel Nautiles horn, as in where they can be purchased and how much they cost [single/double].

I think you get most of your mods done DIY or by someone who can get the work done well for you. Unfortunately I am neither DYI types nor have any trust worthy contacts in Bangy, to perform these small mods.

Is it possible for you to put an illustration on how you got the new Stebel horn fit into the car along with the existing one? Don't trouble yourself if this is not easy to do..

Haha.. I held the secret for only about 3 weeks. It wasn't that tough.. Usually I've been able to hold all surprises I have had for her, over the last 3 yrs. Well, almost.

And brilliant explanation on Redlining and carbon deposits with pictures. Very helpful.

I loved the beige interiors too, but from what other owners have shared, it looks like beige interiors are very difficult to maintain. I can see my Fab's black interiors getting dirty very often, I can only imagine the tough time I would have had with a beige interior.

Think about it, I still love the looks of a black dash and beige interior, but it doesn't matter much at all now, since I hardly see the black portions below the dash/arm rest, in all honesty

Yes, this is what I have a problem with. I do agree that the rotator knob is a better product than the lever, but the difficulty of operating it is what I find uncomfortable. Not the rotary knob itself.

And with a lot more juice left in the turbo!! Don't take that foot off the pedal mates.

Mahesh: If you do go about fitting it, can you please try to cover that as a report here, with pictures, so other owners can contemplate getting the same done? If it's possible, please know it will be very very helpful for all of us. I doubt someone in Bangy has actually changed his/her Fab's horn.

Invinsible: Could you please post the pic of that horn "Stebel Nautilus"? Is it an air horn?

Dear Fabiosis, seems I've missed out quite a bit over last 2 weeks as the net connectivity from my office system ran into some sort of trouble. hope it would be sorted out soon. And I don't have much luck at home even to switch on my system with my li'l daughter running all around. Just went quickly through some posts, but not enough to read each posts thoroughly.

@ Fardan, congrats on your new car and welcome to the club

When things were looking all set, the "ol' rattle snake" tried to make some noise from the rear left side couple of times last week But now, they seem to be gone. Any fabiosi having rattle snake after 1st service?or if any fabiosi had complained to the service guys about the 'left rattles', what was their explanation? I'd be very much obliged if guys can reveal here what the car's doc said.

Any inputs??

There is a dashboard flapping noise reported by many owners including me. I have taken it to the service station many times, complained to the Skoda company. They respond but the end result is the same. It has been confirmed by Invisible to be AC blower problem, even the Tafe service guys acknowledge it, but they feel hopelessly sorry in fixing it. Fortunately,it looks like some of the service stations are now in a position to deal with the problem. Someday I will call the other dealer in Bangalore to see if they are well versed in fixing this particular one. Apart from this I had 2 more rattle/noise issue which was solved without much fuss.

But your problem seems to be different one. Hope your's get resolved too. But I suggest you do the homework of locating the problem area before taking it to the dealer.
