Karan, I would like to hear & understand from you,
why would you recommended a manual over Automatic?
My thought process is,
1. I am a senior citizen and with all joints aching, an automatic is a relief (though I am a hard core manual transmission guy at heart)
2. Driving a manual in the city bumper to bumper traffic is a pain both in the a** and the knee. An automatic addresses that issue.
3. For an off-roading novice, burning the clutch is always a possibility as judging between the right gear /rpm comes with experience. I dread to go off-roading and in the process message up with gears/ burm the clutch/ stall the car and so forth. The automatic eliminates all these scenarios as the car does all the necessary work for you.

Your thoughts, Karan.

If I may interject here: Well, you seem to have listed the odds in favor of the auto and the same is reflected in your booking.

My thought: You can always drive an automatic in manual mode. But you cannot drive a manual in automatic mode.

Reasons to buy the Manual in your case ;

- You are a self confessed Manual Gearbox guy (Always listen to the heart).
- As per your location i.e. GOA I don't see traffic being an issue & the roads in this region will be fun with the manual box.
- Off roading is easy with an A/T hence not as much fun as with a M/T.
- Manual is faster than the A/T.
- " Save the Manuals " , plz.

Re: Maruti Jimny Review | My Jimny 2590 : Alpha M/T

I had ordered some new parts from Japan for my Jimny & in this Video I unbox those parts;

In continuation of my above observations & concern realised during an expedition off the road I was convinced that my Jimny needed Underbody protection. I personally did not consider any aftermarket options as wanted the car to look & feel as stock & OE as possible hence the only option was to Import JDM spec differential guards from Japan. It's an official accessory in Japan but unfortunately not available in India.

77R31 (Front Differential Guard);

^ Fantastic Quality indeed.

77R41 (Rear Differential Guard);

Maruti Jimny Review | My Jimny 2590 : Alpha M/T-screenshot-20250330-12.20.208239pm.png

Comes with a proper set of Instructions (In Japanese so had to translate);

& A Spare Wheel Cover;

Installation;

All above JDM parts were Installed at Mkraft design in Mumbai.

The Differential Guards came with their individual brackets, bolts, washers etc.

Differential Oil has to be drained out as per instructions;

Thats some excellent dedication on your side. And your Jim looks very smart.
Incidentally mine too is an Alpha manual (Thunder Edition of December 2024) and its number is 2950. I have used 4XForza Protection Plates - for the Gearbox, the Fuel Tank and Canister. And Ive used Swastik radial arm guards. Otherwise mine is near stock.
I love the Jimny. Its just perfect for my needs. I drove it up and down the Mysore Highway yesterday and enjoyed every bit of the drive.
(Here is a pic of my NOMADE from yesterday!)

Good to know about the similarities in the Reg. No. Also I too love the "Stock" look as that's hard to come by these days hence just prefer to let it stay the way it is & only enhance appearance with some unique JDM bits to stand out. Let's see what's next.

My mistake.
Mine is Dec 2023 and not 2024 as earlier typed.

Enjoy your Jimny Karan.
Btw my Jimny number is 0295 and both of us are mighty pleased with the number. Hides a couple of our significant dates in the same.
