The Itch


2016 was the year, when I had upgraded my rides to Hyundai Grand i10 Asta (O), from Hyundai i10 Sportz, and Skoda Octavia Tsi from Honda City. And both the cars were doing fantastically well, apart from the Octavia having random part failures, which were handled well by the team at Skoda.

Come 2022, a new role with a new organization came my way, and with that, came an option of buying a car on company lease. Initial thoughts were to sell of the Grand i10 and buy a new car, however, considering there was no option of adjusting the sale proceeds against the new car on lease, we dropped that plan and continued to hold on to the Grand i10. Another reason of holding on was, we had shortlisted on the Volkswagen Taigun GT Plus and I firmly believed, we needed to have at least one reliable car in the family. Thus, by March of 2022, third car was added to our garage- VW Taigun GT Plus



Fast forward June 2022, Mercedes Benz showcased the all-new C Class, and we were truly blown away with the car, the car looked smashing (in photos) and the C300D variant, made the car look hotter. Octavia was doing just fine, but at the back of my mind, I knew that the warranty of the car would be expiring by December. Thus, there was an inherent itch to replace the Octavia.

So, armed with a cheque book in hand, we darted to the Mercedes Benz dealership (Landmark Mercedes, Thane), to see the C300D (just in case if we like the car, we didn’t want to miss the boat). On display was the C220D, cavansite blue with beige interiors and the car looked fabulous to say the least.



Convinced with the fact that the C300D was a perfect upgrade from Octavia, we booked the car with promised delivery around Diwali of 2022. However, I requested the dealer team to give me a call when they have a C300D, so that I can check out the car in person too, before finalizing and making the balance payments. Below were my parameters for choosing the car-

• Engine & Gearbox- 1.8 Tsi to 2.0 Diesel, 7 Speed DSG to 9 Speed G-Tronic
• Power & Torque- 180/250 to 256/600
• Audio- Skoda Audio to Burmeister
• Comfort & Convenience- Host of features over Octavia.
• Safety- Laundry list of Active as well as Passive Safety Features

In the month of August, I got a call from the dealer, that they have received the first C300D a customer allotted car, and they have the car in the dealership, should I wish to have a look at the car, I can come down to the dealership. We went to the dealership and there she was, in flesh the C300D looked more beautiful and sexier if I can say so. Well, it was once again love at the first site.



But as we saw the car we realized, 2 major problems with the car- low ground clearance and that leading to much lower ingress and egress. Also, this time as we spent more time with the car and realized that lower ground clearance means, limited use case on highways with broken roads as well as limited usage to wander off on unknown territories. Secondly, the spare wheel, did use up considerable boot space. We came back home with two minds, should we continue with the car or should we drop the car.

Home minister then suggested, why not scout for other cars in the market, so that is how we parked the thoughts of C300D momentarily and started to look out for other cars. The C300D was going to have a lot of influence on what we chose next. First shop that we visited was BMW.

The 3 GL

We visited Navnit BMW in Malad to check out the 3 GL. First impressions, the car looks aggressive even while stand still and the interiors were well appointed as well, of course the car did not have the Jazz/Opulence of the C Class, but well, it’s a BWM after all, it has to look sporty. What disappointed me the most was the absence of rear seat blinds, common BMW, I cannot be buying a car worth 70 odd lacs and not have blinds. This was a glaring omission, especially the car was being sold as a back seat car. The overall experience at the dealership was pleasing and the SA was knowledgeable, to say the least.

The Audi A4



Audi had just updated the A4 with B&O setup along with sporty flat bottom steering wheel and a new red color. The car on display at Audi South was the car in silver color. Considering my office is in Lower Parel, I chose to drive down to Audi South dealership to check out the car. Just like any other Audi, the A4 had clean lines, and was more business-like, rather than being flashy or sporty. The fit and finish was exemplary, and the virtual cockpit looked modern and sharp. However, the car was considerably down on space as compared to Octavia and did not feel like a worthy upgrade.

The Volvo S60



The Volvo dealership in Mumbai, had last 2 units of the S60 available with them for sale. Both the cars were white in color and considering the cars were 4 months old, they were offering good discounts as well. We casually went to check out the S60, while the build quality was splendid, but all black interiors made the car look claustrophobic. The home minister too, didn’t approve of the car.

So now with all the cars checked, we were not very convinced with anything in the market and as I mentioned earlier, the C300D was constantly playing in our mind, as Mercedes had upped the ante in the segment and how.

But considering, road trips are a big part of our lives, while the C Class ticked all the boxes, we still officially cancelled the booking in September. But the itch to buy a new car, still remained.

Fast forward to 2023, discussions around new car picked up momentum at home and we were again out there scouting for options. Albeit this time we decided to go one segment above. So once again, our trips to dealerships started, starting with BMW first. We called up the SA at Navnit BMW to check on the 5 Series, however, to our disappointment with the 530D discontinued and 530i out of stock, the only option left was 520D. We weren’t keen on the 520D, so we didn’t bother going to BMW dealership.

The next stop was Mercedes.

The E Class



I must say, the E Class, is a segment leader for a reason. The amount of space on offer is tremendous. However, both the petrol as well as diesel felt underpowered. Not that 0 to 100 dash matters to me, however, I associate more power with better efficiency due to a better power-to-weight ratio thus translating into better NVH and less effort to pull the car leading to better efficiency. While the home minister loved the E Class, all because it was a Mercedes, but I was not quite sure, whether I needed that kind of rear space, as mostly, the car would be self-driven, with limited or no use of rear space. But the E Class is current shape is a looker for sure.

Considering, we were in Andheri itself, we decided to drop by the Audi West dealership to check out the Audi A6.

The Audi A6





While the car was definitely not as spacious as the Mercedes, the built quality of the car spoke a lot about the superlative quality that Audi was offering. We checked the car, went on a short drive and the 245 horses mapped to a fast-changing gearbox clicked immediately. The price offered for Daman Registration was mouthwatering. For 63 lacs all inclusive (5 years warranty & 4 services), it felt the best buck for money. The only hitch was the absence of Audi’s much famed Matrix Lights. However, the SA was smart enough to convince me that the headlights without the Matrix functionality also performed well. We took few days to think and after conversation with few motorheads we bite into the decision to book the A6- Chronos Grey with Beige Interiors. We paid 2 lacs as booking amount and considering the car was in stock, we were to take the delivery on the Gudi Padwa day. We got into loan processing and while that was happening, casually my home minister asked me to get the car for a test drive towards late evening to check the ambient lights in the car.

The SA happily obliged to my ask, and on a Monday evening (9 days to Gudi Padwa), the SA dropped in at our place with the car. We took a long test drive and when we came back and parked the car, my home minister got out of the car and was looking at the car from the front 3/4th quarters and she asked me, “Issme DRL’s nahi hain kya?” I answered honge, I must have switched off the car, to which the SA replied, “No Sir, this car does not come with DRL’s, they were a part of Matrix Lights, and all non-Matrix Light cars, do not have DRL’s as those lights are a direct lift of Premium Plus Model” Even at the rear Audi had done away with LED tail lights and the lights that Audi had given were halogen powered. All this was due to chip shortage in 2023.

We came back home pretty disappointed, and that disappointment aggravated coz my home minister said, “Audi without a DRL is not an Audi at all” I quite agreed to that statement.

The Confusion

The next day, we went to the dealership in a confused state of mind. While we loved the car, but we were not ready to accept that there could be an Audi without DRL’s. We were almost on the verge of cancelling the car, and at that moment, a team member from Audi’s Pre-Approved division approached me, who happened to be my friend from the old days. It was a bharat milap moment coz we were meeting almost after 10 years. I explained the situation, to which he responded, that he had just last Saturday picked up a 5600 kms run car, and the car is landing at the dealership today evening, it is an A6, technology pack, with matrix lights, and what it misses is the 360 camera, ionizer and perfume (that was 2023 update from Audi), however, the car comes with warranty and it is January 2021 registered & December 2020 model. We thought, no harm in checking out the car if we were further going to save some mullah. Evening the car came to the dealership, it was firmament blue with beige interiors. We checked the car, and it indeed was in mint condition, we drove around Juhu and other areas of Andheri, and the car literally felt straight out of the plant.

We took the details of the car and had sent it to the Audi India’s service team to check on the service data and other details. Additionally, we got the car physically checked at Audi’s service station to check if everything was in order.

Once we got a go-ahead from all the corners, now we sat with the team for final negotiations. The final price we locked at 48 lacs OTR, which included 4 years additional Audi India warranty, next 2 annual services & first year zero dep insurance. The only problem, the car was earlier registered in another state, however, that did not pose a greater problem, coz I anyways had a lease agreement in that state. We came home without any commitment, and we were on Thursday by the time we got all the data in place (5 days to go for Gudi Padwa).

The Decision

Friday morning, we finally took a call, to bite the bullet and gave a go-ahead to Audi West’s team to switch my booking from Chronos Grey/Beige Interiors to Firmament Blue/Beige Interiors car from Audi Pre-Approved Route.

All this while, the team at Audi West had evaluated my Octavia, and they offered me INR 13 lacs, for a 2016, 54000 kms run, immaculately kept car. So, net-net, the A6 was going to cost me 35 lacs, not bad I thought to myself. With banking formalities done by Monday evening (considering we shifted to a lower loan amount), we said, we would hand over the Octavia on the day of delivery.

Tuesday evening, 1 day to delivery, there were mixed emotions, one an emotion of upgrading to a premium/luxury segment, and two letting go of the Octavia. We briefly toyed with the idea of keeping the Octavia as well, but 4 cars in the family, could be an over-kill. So, we had to finally let it go.

The Delivery Day

March 22, 2023, a new year for all the Maharashtrian’s in the house, was the day chosen to take the delivery of the car. Before I jump into the details, I would like to mention few folks from various brands that I interacted for being patient and always a phone call away, while we were deciding.

Swapnil Sawant, from Landmark Mercedes who helped me book and cancel the C300D without any fuss about it, Anthony from KIFS Volvo to take efforts to get the S60 multiple times at my place, Harsh Sachdeva from Audi South during our A4 conversations, Julian Mariadas from Navnit BMW, Aditya Jani, for being my literally to go guy with Audi West, Maurice for being ever transparent.

10:30 we started from home to reach the dealership as we had planned to reach there by 11:30. There were almost 26 deliveries happening that day at Audi West. That was the last time I was going to drive the Octavia. We parked the car at the back entry of the dealership in the by-lanes and entered the dealership to be greeted by Aditya as well as Rohit from Maurice’s team. The dealership team was in traditional attire as well, giving festive vibes to the environment. We settled in and started the process of documentation and other formalities. Once we were through with the formalities, we walked towards the car, she was draped in red cloth, we did the customary unveiling of the car, followed by the puja and Aditya then sat down with us to explain all the features in detail and he helped us create profiles in the car to make it ours. The dealership team took the car out of the showroom, and we took the car from there.

It was almost 1:30 before we set course to home, we bid a final bye to our loved Octavia one last time before heading home. Once back home, the A6 happily took the parking spot of Octavia, I turned back to the car to realize that a new love story is about to start.



Initial Impressions

The first week into the ownership, the car was largely used over the weekends and on and off for home to office and office to home runs. Here are few initial views.

Pros

• The space on offer, especially coming from Octavia felt much more and more than enough.
• Excellent built quality and use of high-quality sound-deadening materials all around, ensure the outside sound is out.
• 17 speakers Bang & Olufsen speakers are well tuned, and the sound staging is #simplybrilliant.
• 245 horses just pull and pull.
• Ride quality is excellent, and the car just absorbs anything and everything thrown at it.
• Full tank range excess of 800 in the city and 1000 on the highways
• Audi virtual display, is still the bloody best in the business, add to that those soothing ambient lights, they change the ambience of the car as the sun sets in.

Cons

• No DCC, thus rending the driving modes, actually useless. In dynamic mode the car is extremely aggressive with false sense of weight in the steering, without tweaking the suspensions, means you are looking at having a car which is not taut when you want it to be.
• Heavy front bias, means the weight distribution is a disaster, leading to you fighting the car on corners to keep it in the line, even at speeds around 90-100.
• Seats don’t feel from a 75-lac car, especially looking at the seats that competition offer at the similar price bracket. They feel very basic, neither do the seat have thigh extenders.
• Matrix lights are a boon as well as a bane, depending on where you are driving.

Design Language Exteriors



One thing that Audi does really well is building & designing cars which have timeless designs. I think, that is a hallmark of any VAG product. I particularly love the front fascia of the car, while the grille is big, but it is not out of proportions and the sleek headlamps with built in DRL’s look fab, especially the dynamic turn indicators.



On the sides, the silhouette of the car oozes luxury and subtleness. All 4 door handles get keyless entry and exit, and the doors have sound insulation rubberized pads to ensure the exterior sounds stay out at all times. There is this resounding thud every time you shut the doors.



The rear is somewhat bulky to my liking and what is a sore miss here is non-animated taillights. There is no drama to them. However, there is this subtle chrome strip which runs through the entire rear section and the lights, which gives the car a very upmarket feeling. This was something that even Skoda copied later into their Superb.


Design Language Interiors


If you are a techie, you will definitely love the interiors that A6 offers. This was a common statement by everybody who saw this C8 A6 when it was launched first in fag end of 2018 globally. It was the first car to have Audi’s updated MMI and 3 screens philosophy. Audi’s updated virtual cockpit, one center screen to control MMI and car functionalities and third screen to control the HVAC.



Therefore, is the car a techie's dream? Well, if this had been 2020, then I could have said yes, but now in 2024, the competition has caught up with Audi and now Audi is lagging behind the competition. While Audi did showcase the upcoming MMI in Q6, which is bound to become mainstream, it remains to be seen, how much of power packed it is going to be.

Coming back to my A6.

First things that you notice is the plush interior, the fit and finish and the quality of materials used in general everywhere, is top notch. The car feels expensive on the inside.

From a driver’s seat perspective, you like what you see. To begin with, there is a nice welcome tune that welcomes you to the car. The four-spoke steering wheel feels good to hold in hand and the virtual display greets you. The seats come with ample of adjustments for lumbar, forward, and aft movements. The central console houses the gear shift selector, start-stop button, volume knob, auto hold and electronic parking brake button. There are 2 cup holders with lid and a dedicated spot to keep the car keys. But the problem is, if you have added any cover to the key, the key will not fit in the slot.

The only place in the car to keep your phone is either the center arm rest which has the charging pad or your hands. There is soft touch leather every-where you see and overall fit and finish as mentioned earlier is top notch. What I love about the car is its cooling, the 4-zone climate control unit does fantastic job of cooling down the car well.

The space at the rear is decent, yes, the car gets manual side blinds and an electrically operated rear one, a sad omission in the 3 GL, due to which we had skipped the 3 GL. Those blinds also play an important role in cooling down the car pretty fast. There is enough room to stretch, though not into a E Class territory, but I think, definitely better than our earlier choice- C300D. No complaints here.

Ride & Handling



Crank the engine, and the 2.0 litre TFSi engine comes to life with a shudder. After the initial few seconds of the engine warming up, post that there is no sound from the engine at all. The NVH levels are stellar, and you don’t realize that you have started moving, the car is that silent and hushed.

The ride quality is supple, and the car simply glides over everything you throw at her. However, the handling of the car is nowhere into BMW territory, partly due to being a Front Wheel Drive and partly due to screwed up weight distribution. As mentioned earlier, the car is heavily biased towards the front leading to constant understeering, at high speeds. What Audi had set out to do was built a car which carries its occupants in utmost comfort, that, the A6 does brilliantly well. But the aggressive driver in me, hates the dynamics of this car and that is where I miss the dynamic chassis control. How I wish, Audi could have given the A6, the adaptive dampers. Nevertheless, you win some, you lose some.


Overall

We had set out to buy the Mercedes, booked one, and cancelled one, as a boy, BMW is my favourite brand, but as you age, driving dynamics is not the only thing that you can consider while making buying choices, hence Audi, which ticked all the other boxes, barring one- it is not an ultimate driving machine. Maybe next time, when the pocket permits, I am keenly eyeing the BMW X5.

Early Set of Problems & Resolutions

Rattling Sound

Audi’s are known to have cabins which are hushed. Few weeks into the ownership, I could feel rattling sound from the cabin, particularly near the steering column. When you are used to a silent cabin, any noise, keeps bothering you.

I called up the service team at Audi West in Santacruz, explaining the problem to them, they requested the car to be dropped at the service station. While they were ready to arrange for a pickup and drop, I chose to drive down to the service station.

Now there is one thing, very funny about VAG cars, moment they reach the service stations, the problems seem to fade away. It took them couple of test drives to finally spot the rattling sound. The technical team opened up the dashboard and refixed it again and seemly the problem was solved, or did we diagnose it wrong?

Well, the rattling sound stayed at bay for a week, and cropped up again after a week. I first thought, I may have hit the bump hard somewhere and it may be one off, however the sound remained for next 2-3 days. I again called up the service team informing them about the rattling sound. Even they were perplexed.

I drove down again to the service station, and yet again for the first few test drives the cabin was pin drop silent. However, luckily during the 5th drive, the rattle started again. I must say, I felt happy. Now with the sound heard, next big question was to identify from where it was originating. Finally, one of the keen eared technician was able to pinpoint the problem to the horn pad, there was a pin which was loose in the horn pad leading to the rattling sound.

The technical team checked for the part update and Audi had just announced a part update for horn pads for the same reason of a pin coming loose. The team ordered the part, and the expected delivery was in 15 days.

I promptly got the call from the team moment the part arrived, and I chose to send the car this time via pick-up drop facility for them to replace the part. Ever since the car has come back after part replacement, the cabin is back to being pin drop silent.


Fuel Lid Lock

Third month into ownership and happily adding miles to the ODO, yet another problem cropped up, the fuel lid had to be pressed multiple times for it to go in lock position. I escalated the problem once again to the service team at Audi West, they asked me to shoot a video of the problem for them to send it to warranty team, I happily obliged to shoot the video of part failure. With 3 days the part was replaced at the service station.

After these 2 incidents, till date I haven’t faced any problem with the car.


A Transition from Weekend Drive to a Daily Drive

With 3 cars at disposal, the original idea was, home minister would continue to use the Grand i10, considering her office is in high traffic density area, I would use the Taigun GT Plus on workdays and the A6 would primarily be used for weekend trips. An occasional call to a fellow bhpian, corrupted my mind by saying, what’s the use of buying a luxury barge and keeping her home, instead why not use her. I had “baat toh sahee hain” moment, and I thought to myself, out of 3 days that I drive to work, at least 1 day, I can take the A6, rest 2 can be Taigun. Eventually, I started liking the 1 day that I used to drive A6 to work, and from 1 day, it conveniently became 2 days and then further, all 3 days. So now there was re-allocation of cars at home, home minister upgraded to Taigun as her daily drive, I upgraded to A6 as my daily drive and Grand i10 became weekend chores car.

One Year and 10,000 kms later (14000 on the ODO)

A year and 10,000 kms later, both me and the car have settled with each other. During these last 12 months, I have been on countless road trips such as Mumbai-Nasik, Mumbai-Alibaug, Mumbai-Pune, Mumbai-Goa, Mumbai- Belgaum, and few short ones here and there, I think the car has kept us in utmost comfort wherever we took her. I even dared to venture in unknown territories and not once did the car scrape down, even with full load. The car shines in city conditions, keeping you aloof from what’s happening outside, and the comfort suspension just glides over uneven surfaces without ruffling you. However, throw twisty roads at her, and try to get aggressive, she starts complaining. But keep her at around 80-100 bandwidth, she will do the job well. As I am living with the car and literally using the car every day, below are some of my observations of the car.

• Audi Virtual Display, it still is amongst the best virtual displays out there and it is fabulous to look at whether day or night.
• 20 watts Bang & Olufsen Sound setup with 16 channel amplifier and a sub, keeps you entertained no matter how many kms you drive.
• The double acoustics glass & rubberized pads everywhere ensures that there’s literally Pin Drop Silence in the car and the only thing that you hear if the audio is off, is the AC Blower.
• 4 occupants in 4 different corners of the car, have no complains on space, but put the fifth occupant, then the equation changes, thanks to high central tunnel.
• Those comfort suspensions ride well over uneven surfaces keeping the occupants unfazed with what’s happening underneath them and the car simply glides over everything.
• The 7 Speed DSG Gearbox, is sometimes hesitant and keeps shifting through till it finds the right cog, and once the right cog is found, there’s sudden surge of power, which can catch you off guard, a typical trait of this gearbox.
• The length of the car is stressful as U-Turns are mostly a pain and driving in narrow roads further accentuates the pain due to the size.
• Those Matrix Lights are a Boon as well as Pain, as they activate only in dark conditions and when they do… Baam, it’s a day light for you for as far as 600 meters, however on other times due to AFS, the light throw, while it’s razor sharp, it lacks depth.
• Omission of physical buttons from the cockpit, the only 2 physical buttons are start-stop and audio volume, rest practically everything in the car is controlled by 3 screens in the car.

Overall, then for whom is the Audi A6, the answer to that is pretty simple, if you are looking for razor sharp driving dynamics, get the BMW 5 Series, heck even the Jaguar XF will do the job, if you are looking for pure elegance and outright luxury, get the Mercedes Benz E Class, there is a reason why it the highest selling car in the segment.

However, if you want a car that will look modern and remain fresh even after a decade, something that ferries you from place A to place B in utmost comfort and in the lap of safety and has amongst the most powerful petrol motor mated to the worlds most advanced gearbox in the segment right now, then the Audi A6 is just right for you.

First set of upgrade

End 2022, Audi had upgraded the car from 18-inch alloys to 19-inch alloys and the car’s overall stance simply changed due to those alloys. The aero design on the 18 incher, made the car looking stately, but not sporty. And the 5 spoke dual tone alloys made the car look sport and agile. Also, to my mind, 19-inch alloys would have improved the handling of the car, considering the car would have become slightly stiffer. Thus, this march, finally I took the plunge and upgraded from 18-inch alloys to 19-inch and with that got fresh rubber in the form of Michelin Pilot Sports 3. While I wanted Pilot Sports 4, but for the size that I was upgrading, Pilot Sports 4 was not available in those sizes. I upgraded from 225/55R18 to 245/45/R19.



Immediate initial impressions are the car has become marginally stiffer than what it used to be, and the steering wheel is now far more communicative as compared to earlier.

I am yet to venture out on the highways to test the handling and other dynamics, but I am sure the handling must have improved as compared to what it was earlier.

Now, I can say, I am not the only one roamed around multiple segments that had no connection before nailing it down to Virtus GT+ DSG (Blue-Bean arrived | VW Virtus GT+ DSG Review).
In my hunt, I was too close to get myself a pre-owned A4 having very less ODO and about an year old for 44L [negotiable] from Audi Pre-owned showroom in Madurai, TN. My home minister rejected it because it's a Black! I still regret for not getting that.
Beyond the brand, luxury feel, body build, etc... one thing that blew my mind was its B&O Audio!

I guess, daily drive with our new ride is always a good one to get used to it and become more comfortable with it.

Sawnil, what a car! You made the right choices through & through, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading the shortlisting & elimination rounds (Audi without DRLs, LOL!).

It is so darn refreshing to read an A6 review (A4 is much talked about, due to its discounts). The A6 is a true luxury sedan and one with astonishingly great styling. The pure, clean lines make my head turn all the way round whenever I spot one. Recently, I'd spotted a 10-year old A6 with a subtle body kit and I can tell you, it looked better than any of the current sedans on sale.

Big congratulations! More so, on the wicked deal. An almost-brand-new A6 for 48 lakhs is a sweet, sweet buy. A well-priced car in what is an overpriced market today, and with a warranty package to boot. Wishing you a minimum of 10-years of driving pleasure & many road-trips with your Audi A6 .

In my hunt, I was too close to get myself a pre-owned A4 having very less ODO and about an year old for 44L [negotiable] from Audi Pre-owned showroom in Madurai, TN. My home minister rejected it because it's a Black! I still regret for not getting that.
Beyond the brand, luxury feel, body build, etc... one thing that blew my mind was its B&O Audio!

I guess, daily drive with our new ride is always a good one to get used to it and become more comfortable with it.

A4 is a fantastic product, infact, surprisingly, it has much better NVH levels than even the A6. But at the same time, Virtus isn't a bad choice either. Especially, the colour that you have taken is stellar to look at whether day or night.

I too sometimes regret not getting the C300D for what it was, and the 3 GL for what it is able to do behind the wheel. But then I convince myself saying, heck I got myself a car from one segment above.

It is so darn refreshing to read an A6 review (A4 is much talked about, due to its discounts). The A6 is a true luxury sedan and one with astonishingly great styling. I believe the A6 is not selling due to the blokes at Audi India who do not know how to market a product. Even their advertising campaigns are lousy. There is no reason for them to not to give HD Matrix Headlights (which has much better sensors) adaptive dampers and lux seats that the global A6 comes with as anyways they are at the fag end of their product lifecycle with the C8. But no, all they do is year on year they just keep increasing prices and in variable proportion increase discounts, that over the years has corrupted the brand value.

Thank you, yes the idea is to keep the car long, for now I have just added 19 inch official Audi alloys. With time the plan is to series of projects/upgrades on the car as and when time and mullah permits. Some need time and some need mullah

• Updated 2024 maps for Gracenote
• Wireless Apple CarPlay
• Audi Official 360 camera
• ACC module complete with blind spot assist, front & rear collision assist

I will keep adding to what has worked and what isn't as I start these projects.

Super stuff Sawnil. The A6 is a looker with a classic design that you just stop and admire each time. Being a fellow A6 owner, I can imagine the feel or the confusion in the head after you take a TD of the A6. You somehow convince yourself that an A6 is what you want.

When I was in the market for an upgrade and almost finalised a new A4, the SA offered a TD if an A6 despite me telling him that I would not buy it due to cost. Once you drive one, you somehow manage to find the budgets. Close to 40k km in 2+ years and the joy even today is as good as the same on day 1.

I know it's been a year with your A6, but seriously, congratulations on your purchase.
The A6 is such a stunning car, from all angles, that I could stare and ogle at it all day. The DRLs, aggressive yet elegant front fascia and the sleek side profile is just pure eye-candy.

Honestly, I'm slightly jealous you were able to find a 5k km run A6, because 48 lac is a great price for a car that is 2 segments above. I would've snagged one too If I got the offer.

I think the term luxobarge is apt for something like the A6 for how big & comfortable it is, and how effortlessly you can munch miles on highways. Enjoy your ownership!

Sweet ride you got there! the wheel upgrade has transformed the looks, Many congratulations on getting a good deal, A6 is a very nice option in the segment and a car that I too would prefer in the segment.

The only thing this car is missing is Quattro (AWD), Audi launched the A6 to fight the Mercedes and BMW with one hand tied to the back, this step motherly treatment of the Indian market has hurt them bad, hope they wake up from the slumber and are more aggressive in offering a wider range of existing options here. (Discounts will only take them so far, in fact, I feel it has damaged their reputation to an extent)
