Nothing as such. The stock tweeters will be replaced and the crossover may need to be wired- nothing to worry on the wiring front. Changing to any speakers (coax/comp) might require spacer mounts to be installed. You may opt for rain guards to protect the new speakers from water/ rain.

Goodluck.

Re: Our 2024 5th-Gen Honda City MT comes home!

The 3rd Service post 1 year:

The City had its 3rd periodic service yesterday. We returned from a trip to Varanasi last week through showering rains and muddy roads so it was a good time to get it serviced and give it a thorough underbody wash. The car averaged 20.5 KMPL during the 1000 Km round trip.
The car has done approximately 5400 kms and except the regular service, nothing else was required to be done.

The engine oil volume the City takes is 3.3 ltrs. Opted for synthetic oil as anyway the mineral oil option was not available. The engine oil cost is around Rs. 2700/- while the oil filter costs Rs. 205/- including the drain washer.

The air filter was little dirty hence I opted for change, though the interval is 20K kms. Costs Rs. 456/- The AC cabin filter, as per the schedule, was to be changed (Rs. 913/-) but it was as clean as almost new, hence it wasn't replaced. Front brake pads were opened and the accumulated brake dust was cleaned. Calipers were NOT lubricated.

Total bill for parts was around Rs. 3500/- as the labour charges were waived off being the 3rd free service. From now on, the maintenance schedule is an annual affair. The good part, everything was done under 2.5 hours and hence was a relatively quick in-out affair.

Saket, this is a simply brilliant thread. A few questions:

1. Have you driven any CVT variants? Your observation.
2. What are the negatives of the ventilated seat accessory
3. Whats your take on after-market 360 degree camera
4. In terms of ergonomics (of which Honda are masters) what further improvement can be done. You have already mentioned not adjustable arm rest.

Thanks Carhead!

Regarding your queries:

1. I haven't driven City CVT. We have another i20 Automatic but it is a far cry from the lovely MT of the City. Though not an apple vs apple comparison but the flipper side is that the automatic is a blessing in city traffic.

2. Ventilated seats are an add on and they look like so. Also, the original plush feeling & contours of the leatherette seats go for a toss when using these over the original seats. The 12V sockets have a tendency to go loose and sometimes I have to push them back in when the seats don't work! Otherwise they work ok and the massager function is nice to have especially for long drives. After running the ventilation for a while, you won't feel if it is working but if you turn it off then you will realise that it was working. The lower part of the seat has higher flow than the seat back.

3. 360 Degree camera is something which would have been a nice addition if it came from factory. I think that the HU might need replacement for accommodating a 360 compatible unit and them I am not sure if the OE lane watch camera would work. Also slightly apprehensive of the steering button controls not working properly hence I am not looking at this upgrade. May be in future if any branded and fully compatible device come as plug n play, I might consider.

4. Ergonomics of the car are mostly well sorted. Apart from the arm rest blunder, I only wished that the steering could drop a little further while adjusting the rake. That could have made longer drives a little more comfortable & less straining on arms. The storage under the armrest is also slighly on the smaller size. Rest is well done.

Thanks for reading and your nice words.

Regards.

Silver City is the best choice, especially with the rear bumper diffuser standing out! Excellent choice!

Thanks for your nice words.
The inside of both bonnet and hatch are painted in silver.

Thanks.
