re: My New Hyundai Creta SX(O) Diesel Automatic | Ownership Review | EDIT: 30,000 km update

I encountered the same problem with the Qubo dashcam on both my Ignis and Creta. I bought the one on Ignis from Amazon while I got the one for Creta through Jewajee car decors in Chennai. I encountered the same problem on both the cars at around the same time. Jewajee got the Creta one replaced for me through the distributor, who mentioned that an entire batch of dashcams were faulty. For the one procured through Amazon, he asked me to get in touch with customer care and I haven't add the time to replace it yet.

re: My New Hyundai Creta SX(O) Diesel Automatic | Ownership Review | EDIT: 30,000 km update

Off topic regarding qubo in general. The android app is pretty glitchy as I've been using it for my smart plugs at home. It loses connection easily and is not easy to pair back. I was about to buy the air purifier but stopped after seeing reviews of the same software issue..it's sad to see an attempt by an Indian company going half baked and having issues which is why we have to resort to others

Coming to the dashcams, I've been using the 70mai a800 with front and rear. Never had issues except for when an update has to be installed. It resets all the settings of the camera

The qubo products are definitely half baked. Thinking it to be a good venture by hero group and believing in the brand perception, I purchased a dash cam and also a mobile gimbal.

The qubo pro app is cheap to look at and use. It’s ridden with bugs and hardly works.
The devices easily lose out on connection and keep attempting reconnections randomly.

The service support is non existent. Money spent on qubo is a lost cause.

re: My New Hyundai Creta SX(O) Diesel Automatic | Ownership Review | EDIT: 30,000 km update

Creta Diesel AT owners, I hope you all are doing well.

I want to ask you about the ATF ( automatic transmission fluid) of your car. Since Creta was launched in March 2020, I am hoping that there are many owners here whose cars would have Crossed the 60-70k km mark.

So how do you change your ATF in your car
Or
When you are planning to get it changed
Or
What are your opinions and thinking about it?

On my recent 25k service, out of curiosity, I asked SA about this ( as I am planning to change ATF once my car hits 70k km), and he said it is not necessary to change it. He also said they change it only if transmission gives jerks during the inspection. I have asked 2-3 Hyundai ASS about ATF change till now and all make different different excuses.

I mean, why do they try to run away from ATF change even when a customer is ready to pay for it, and ASS will make a decent profit out of it. Are Hyundai mechanics so incompetent, and they are not sure that they can change the ATF smoothly without causing any trouble /fault in the car?

After this conversation with 2-3 Hyundai dealers in Udaipur and Surat, I think when my car reaches the 70k km mark, I will have to shout and fight in ASS to make them agree to change ATF in my car; otherwise,, these guys will not budge.

Second thing, I will also stand next to my car during the ATF change because from their behaviour after listening about the ATF change, there is a possibility that these guys agree on face to change it, but in reality, they will return the car back without changing it.

Most of manufacturers indicate gearboxes are sealed for life. The definition of life is not clarified. Tata says Hexa ATF is sealed for life. We have learnt hard way that the definition of life is 2 lakh kms or 5 years at max which ever is earlier.
There were not too many automatic cars couple of years back, so most likely the service centers did not build enough expertise deal with regular ATF change and automatic gearbox issues.

I am also considering automatic car as a replacement. My only concern with automatics is the service center's lack of expertise to handle automatic gearbox and ATF replacements.

Please keep sharing your update if you can get the service center to replace ATF.
Have you sent official email to Hyundai to know ATF replacement interval?

70mai A510 Dual Dashcam Set

So, purchased and installed 70mai A510 in my Creta after pathetic experience with Qubo Dash-cam.

Box-

Front Dash-cam-

The quality and in-hand feel is superb.
Looks premium and good after installation

Now comparing 70mai with my last experience with Qubo, 70mai is miles ahead. Leave the video quality aside, talking about the in-app experience which is seamless in 70mai ( it doesn't hang, there is no lag, it is very user-friendly, Connection to Dashcam is quick and videos are downloaded very quickly) while Qubo app was pathetic ( at times it doesn't open at all, takes long minutes to download the video, hangs lot of times).

Compatible Micro SD card-

After using the Dashcam and observing the videos, I found out that there is lot of Dashboard reflection and glare in the videos so I decided to buy the CPL filter.
Everyone who are using Dashcam should add CPL filter in their Dashcam's as the difference is noticeable.

CPL Filter ( Additional Cost - Rs 1000 )

Installation of CPL Filter-

Very easy, just have to align the mark of the CPL filter on the Dashcam lens top center area and press it slowly.

If you have installed 3M or any other renown brand antireflecting windsheild protector then it is not required. Moreover if you add CPL filter then you will find a black sports in videos (Sorry I don't have videos to show how they look like). I have experienced the same and removed the CPL filter and with the antireflecting windsheild there are no reflections in videos.

And yes if you don't have antireflection film then it is highly recommend to attach CPL filter to the dashcam.

Thanks for sharing the comparison with CPL filter, I got the same camera installed in my 2024 Suzuki Jimny Alpha. CPL filter is something I definitely need to install now.

re: My New Hyundai Creta SX(O) Diesel Automatic | Ownership Review | EDIT: 30,000 km update

I too have installed 70Mai A510 dual channel dashcam in my car. By default in the settings, it was always on even if engine is not running and car is locked(I have Skoda Kylaq and 12 volt power socket always draws power from battery). So, I changed the setting to switch it off after 20 mins of engine off. However, it doesn't starts back when engine is started again on same or different day.

Did anyone face this issue?

As of now I have plugged it in one of USB C socket in the front with help of USB C to A adapter. Now, it starts of stops recording with engine on and off only.

I have CPL filter for my A510 cam. Since I have installed carpro uvx windshield film recently, I am getting rainbow effect in the videos. The film had this mentioned on its document also. Any idea if there is any work around for this? I am yet to try without the filter.

30,000 Kms Service Update
( Done at Monarch Hyundai Surat)

Creta touched the 30,000 km milestone in 15 months. I took the car to Monarch Hyundai, Piplod Surat, on 22-03-2025 for Service; I booked the appointment from the Myhyundai app 3 days prior; service booking on the app is very convenient and easy. No major complaints except some amount of dust going inside the Odometer of the car.

Parts Changed During the Service

1. Engine Oil- 4.8 L
2. Oil Filter
3. Cabin Filter
4. Air Filter

Other work

1. Wheel Alignment
2. Wheel Balancing
3. Raised a complaint about Dust Going Inside the Odometer.

Here is the picture of Bill-

At this 30,000 km service, the SA told me for EGR cleaning, something I didn't budget was the charges of EGR cleaning, which was Rs 5000/. I am thinking of this done at 50,000 km's Service Interval. Please shed some light on this EGR cleaning; what are the points I should consider while getting it done? And at how many km's we should get EGR cleaning done?
Here's the EGR cleaning estimate -

Dust Going Inside Odometer -

Regarding this, when I went to the service centre in the evening to collect the car, SA took me to another 2nd gen Same SXO model and showed me the Odo-meter of that Car, and surprisingly, that car's Odometer had the same issue, even worse than mine because I always drive with windows Up and with AC. Now this excuse that other cars also have the same problem doesn't change the reality that the 2nd Gen Creta's Sxo Top Model Digital Meter is of sub-par quality; in my whole life, I never saw dust going inside an Odometer, and the Odo-meter is an airtight unit. In this case, I was expecting an easy warranty claim and no excuses from the Dealer, but after seeing another Car with the same Odometer issues, it shows that there is a manufacturing defect in a certain batch of Sxo Odometers. This time due to evening and work commitments on later days I didn't create a scene and didn't take the car to the service centre again but I will escalate this Issue to Hyundai later on, My car is just 1.25 years old and I also bought an Extended warranty by paying 37,000 till 5yr/1.4 lakh km's but this incidence has reduced my confidence upon Hyundai's warranty claims and Odo-meter part quality. If someone from Hyundai is reading this, please look into my issue and resolve it.

Service History -

1. 10k Service - 5053/-
2. 20k service - 6204/-
3. 30k service - 8395/-

Total so far - 19652/-

Fuelio Stats - My running is 60% Highway and 40% City.
