Re: 2023 BMW 7-Series (G70) | Test-Drive and Review

Crisp review!

The front end design is quirky but I kind of like it. There are days I feel its too much and other times I feel it's nice that it stands out of the crowd in a good way.

Have been pondering over what to replace my father's W222 with and I think the i7 is the ideal choice as of now. But am in no rush and would also like to wait to see what the facelift S W223 has in store. I reckon, MB will have to pull up it's socks and give a major update this time to match the 7 atleast in the rear interior.

I love how the 7's rear seat stretches out in one piece, the w223 is super comfy but that gap below your knee can get annoying at times.

One thing that always stood out for me with the 7 series in previous gens was the rear seat height. In the S you sit lower and sink in hence getting in and out is not as easy as it has been in the 7. This also resulted in a better view from the rear seat and some better thigh support. Could you shed some light on this? I hope this is retained.

Evolution is a proven strategy (Mercedes, Porsche, Land Rover) compared to frequent "revolutions". I feel brands like BMW, Jaguar are spooked by the changing automative landscape and are throwing away their legacy and identity driven by panic and lack of confidence in their own identity. At the very least, they are overreacting.
Thanks androdev. Well Said

When I did a walkaround of the G70 7er, what impressed me above all was the material quality. Everything feels and looks extremely plush and beautiful, and I’m glad BMW is learning something from Rolls-Royce.
Truly.

That being said, this car is extremely feature loaded and the rear seats are exceptional, so while the 740i is in need of a price correction, I’d argue that the i7 is actually priced decently when you factor in how much more luxury you get over competitors like the E-Tron GT and the EQS.

The real knockout punch would’ve been the 60i (which is now a V8 and not a V12) powertrain honestly.
I Agree, it needed a V8 at this price.

In the S the bench would be placed lower to liberate headroom for sunroof operation where as the 7's sunroof doesn't open.

Regarding the view out, here's a pic for your reference;

The front part of the sunroof(above front seats) also doesn't open?

From your pic it somehow seems the seats are lower down this time but I could be wrong. Will try to test drive one in the near future.

Re: 2023 BMW 7-Series (G70) | Test-Drive and Review

The car's insides are seriously impressive and I am sure that it will be of good performance, but the outside doesn't quite do it for me. The design is definitely unique and modern, but it's just not my thing.

For me, the 1993 BMW 730i is simply the best-looking car ever produced by BMW.

Oh man! The design of this car is hideous. Don't know how it passed the design stage at all.

This is how it looks in rear view mirror.
