I guess there is one thread on the same by Jithin. Here you go for the same. https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/diy-d...-facelift.html (DIY: Cruise Control & Cornering Lamps in my Ford EcoSport Facelift)

That said, one gentleman in Pune from a Ford Ecosport Owners whatsapp group installed the mods through Forscan. The same person recommended me the Geesonic LED high beams. Attaching the Box image. My Pre-Owned Black Ford EcoSport S-whatsapp-image-20220824-5.16.26-pm.jpeg

I guess I misworded it. You can't remove the seats per say, but can flip them vertically, which enables a large cargo area. There is a strap at the base of the rear seat. You can use it open the seat base, and it folds vertically upwards. After that fold the backrest of the seat down, and it goes down completely. You don't even need to remove the headrest! Skip to 1:10 in the below video.

Re: My Pre-Owned Black Ford EcoSport S: 4.5 year / 34000 KM Update

Got the 30K Service completed about 4 months back. Usual stuff, no issues or complaints. Even the cost was reasonable at around 7K. 2nd paid service after Ford left India, and the service experience remains great. Kudos to Ford dealerships!

Got the tyres replaced at around 33400 Kms. Changed from the bridgestone Ecopia 205/50/17 to Ceat SecuraDrive 205/55/17. About 15-20% improvement in ride quality, 10 mm increase in height, and no major improvement in handling. Cost me 26K for 4 tyres.

Recently completed Pune Goa roundtrip and the experience was exemplary. It handled the Anmod Ghat and the Chorla ghat roads very well, and I was yearning for more of the curvy roads!

To conclude the black beast has been a revelation and hope the experience remains same.

Re: My Pre-Owned Black Ford EcoSport S: 5th Service (38K Kms update)

This was the third service post Ford left India.

TL;DR- Service experience remains exemplary.

I always make sure to visit the service center whenever possible rather than opt for a pick and drop service. Talera Ford also offered a free pick and drop service (Crystal Honda used to separately charge for this), but still I declined it.

Issues with car before service-
  • The front left skidplate had broken up. This needed replacement. Excellent work done, no complaints.
  • There was minor noise from the rear side of car. Weirdly it used to come from both rear sides. I was almost sure it was due to the seatbelt clips, and thankfully I was right. Ford has given a clip which helps to keep the belt in place when not in use, to avoid any noise. My dad didn’t know this and I demonstrated it’s use to alleviate any of his fears relating to rattles!

Right upon entering the service centre, two gatekeepers noted the car details and also asked for the odo kilometers. Post that I parked the car and entered the service center.
I was attended quickly by the receptionist, who took my and car details. I was guided to a comfortable AC lounge, which was right beside the service bay with a huge window where the customers can watch their cars being serviced. Was given a glass of cold water and aksed for tea/coffee, for which I only aksed for water. This was promptly served in next 2 minutes. For customers to spend time there were automotive magzines like Autocar,Overdrive, newspapers (both English and Marathi), and some more automotive related books. The setting had many comfortable Sofa chairs and a TV.
I waited for about 15 minutes, as there was no further update and asked the receptionist about the delay. She had an apologetic look, and immediately fetched me one of the SA’s and also apologized for the delay, since Ford was running a monsoon service camp with many discounts and hence had quite a rush. The SA, immediately noted my concerns and inspected the car. He then asked a service technician to look after my doubts and we also went for a test drive. The technician before test drive commented that we may need to replace the brake pads if required, but will confirm post more clear inspection. Post test drive and his manual inspection he reverted back that these brake pads would easily last till another service. Also before exiting the service centre for test drive the gatekeepers again asked for the Odo reading, and also while reentering the technician shared the updated reading. I believe this is done to avoid the technicians taking unwarranted long test drives.

Final bill was 9093 Rs. Only regular service without the Interior and AC cleaning and replacements (wipers and front left Skid plate) would have costed 5500, which is pretty competitive.

Few pros and cons of service-
Pros-
  • Attention to detail- Right from noting the KMs on Odo, to the way I was treated by the entire staff, impressive (for a company who has quit India Sales Operations)
  • No pestering for any added services, or unnecessarily replacing the parts (which will last longer)
  • Prompt work for all the issues mentioned with 100% satisfaction.
  • Great communication pre service and during the service. Before booking the service I had asked on phone call whether the skid plate would need replacement and if the service centre had the same in stock. To this SA, checked with the spare parts division and within 15 minutes responded back with an affirmative. Even provided the bills for all the replaced items.
  • Excellent cleaning inside out. Looks almost brand new.

Cons-
  • Washrooms could be a little cleaner
  • The location of Talera ford on google is currently wrong. They can also install markers on road to indicate where the service center actually is present. I believe it is currently showing the google location of where the Talera dealership would have been operating.

Time for few pics-

Ford was running a Monsoon service camp which had some great deals. I availed discounted replacement of wiper blades.

My Pre-Owned Black Ford EcoSport S-whatsapp-image-20230619-7.41.52-pm.jpeg

Customers could watch their cars getting serviced through big windows in customer lounge area (there was another large one just beside this window). They service technicians also had no qualms if anyone wanted to stand beside their car, while it was getting serviced.

It's hard to upgrade from Ford vehicles (especially in case of Endeavour and Ecosport). Maybe Ford's way of helping their current owners decide for any of their future cars!. PS- Do note these are post 2021 issues of the magazines.

Service centre brimming with cars.

Black beauty comes home. My dad picked it up. I was impressed with the overall washing and wax application service. No extra charges for this!

Conclusion- My decision to retain the Ecosport despite getting offers almost at the same price that I purchased it pre-owned remains correct. Extremely happy with the car and the fill it, shut it and forget it experience by Ford. Kudos to Ford India!

Re: My Pre-Owned Black Ford EcoSport S

I always visit Talera in Pune for servicing, as i am staying in Wagholi with office @Kharadi. Its located conveniently on main Nagar road and never had to use Google Maps. My last 100,000KM service costed me around 5K if I remember correctly.

Re: My Pre-Owned Black Ford EcoSport S

11 Dec 2023: SOLD

Everything was working fine with my buddy. She was happily chugging along at 42700 kms without a single niggle. However, my dad (62), whose ecosport was the primary car, was yearning for a automatic car.

Hence started search for a automatic upgrade. We finalized on a Seltos GT Line DCT. Got an excellent value for my Ecosport by selling it directly to a genuine buyer.

In a way I was extremely sad to let go my buddy, however, I was happy looking at the extreme happiness of her new owner on finally obtaining her. She will definitely be in great hands.

Sharing few pics of her on her last day with me. I washed her myself on the last day, and I don't know why it looked like she shined a bit more than when she was washed by my regular car wash guy. Afterall she is 5.5 year old now, but looked nothing more than a 5 month old car.

She had even happily accompanied me for finding suitable replacements. Also attached the new upgrades pic

Congrats on the new car. Could see your dilema in the many threads / posts on which car to replace, buy, etc.

What was the price you finally got for the Ecosport ? I understand the resale is pretty good and demand is good.

Thanks!

I was the second owner, yet got excellent resale on the car. Demand is good, however, I got a final offer from only one buyer. 3 people had test driven, but they were haggling on the price. The now owner of the car seemed genuinely interested and did not haggle at all. He was happy with my quoted price, since he required a high mileage car, Ecosport top variant in black was his exact requirement. Since I felt both the me and him were extremely happy with the car, I did not entertain other buyers a lot and my buddy was sold in under a week.

I had purchased it at 9.65L, sold at 9L.

Hello there! It’s a nice surprise to find you here. For context, I regularly read your posts in Kia Seltos review page(I too am the owner of Kia Seltos GTX Plus).

Past 1 month, I am finding a 2nd hand vehicle, below 10 lakh, and filtered Ford Ecosport and Kia Sonet.

There are few things I would want to know from you regarding Ecosport.

I know the basics that the service centres are still operating and are good. But regarding the car,

1. Are there any constant issues or damages you faced during your possession. Like you mentioned Skid plate got damaged in one of your services.

2. Also, I am looking to keep the vehicle for at least 5 years. So, will it be good to go with Ford?

3. Any other information you would like to share while buying 2nd hand Ecosport or regarding maintainence.

I had both Ecosport and the Sonet (iMT turbo Petrol) and my experience with both was excellent. Typical fill it shut it forget it.

Coming to your questions-
1) Now that I have used different cars with climate control settings, I feel the climate control of my Ecosport was the slowest to respond to rise in temperatures. My Seltos, Sonet and now the Fronx respond much better.
It's not that the AC is weak, (infact its splendid), just the response from climate control was slow. I am not sure if it was with all ecosport or just mine. This was just a minor irritant though.

2) Go for it. Infact, I am myself on the lookout for getting a used Ford in near future.

3) If you come from a Tier 1-2 City, it should not be a problem maintaining a Ford. For interior parts of country there could be some issue for procuring the parts.

I will use the car mostly in Jaipur and Udaipur. There are 3 in Jaipur and 1 service centre in Udaipur. So, I think maintainance will not be an issue.

Are you looking for an Ecosport again?

I personally love the Sport variant. Currently looking on Spinny to find the one.
Are there any other trustable platforms where I can look for 2nd hand cars, as it is my first time experience.

Spare should not be an issue in city like jodhpur.

Yes I am looking for ecosport/global fiesta/Figo/aspire/freestyle. Basically all Fords except endeavour

Do not assume that if the car is on spinny or CARS24 then it would be 100% trouble free. Do your check thoroughly.

I intend to get the car checked by zekardo or such agency before buying it.
