Agree with your views. Started looking for a replacement for my diesel Jetta which will complete 10 yrs next year in NCR.

Looked at A4 & 3 GL parked opposite in a mall. Noted the following:-

A4 much spacious on inside. Though 3 GL also has good back seat legroom.

Didn't like the integration of screens into the dashboard of 3GL. Not proportionate and supported by a plastic leg on dash. Looks weird and ungainly. A4 screen integration looks organic and classy.

The seat material in 3GL looked cheaper than A4. Also the floor carpet looked cheap. A4 gives a much more premium look and feel.

A4 gets integral sun blinds in rear seats. 3GL misses it.

THE BOOT. I tour a lot and the boot on 3GL is just good enough for 2 medium suitcases.. A4 has huge boot rivalling my Jetta.

Exterior. Personally I liked 3GL better, though A4 also looks classy.

I know that 3 GL will drive better but for overall comfort and that luxurious ride I think A4 will trump it.

To sum up A4 is a more rounded comfortable spacious family sedan. Whereas 3GL is more driver oriented sedan with serious compromise on boot space.

Difficult choice

I'm an Audi Fan boy. Intern at Audi. A4 looks way too good in real life, close up.

Congrats on the new car!
I myself bought an A4 Technology for Delhi South last month at the same cost!
Have even completed a road trip with it. Drives like a beauty but still seeing low mileage figures. Hopefully will improve as the engine breaks in.

Congratulations on the wonderful car! All the best with your new ride! 👍

Can you please share the split price, it would really help me as the OTR depends on the taxes that are different for states.

Thanks in advance! 😊

Dear All, please advise on the right tyre pressure; the panel reads 38 psi in front and 33 rear. Dealer had kept it t 45 psi which I got corrected to 35 psi but somehow the ride doesnt feel the same. Planning to have all tyres amped up to 37-38 psi.

Thanks

Checked yesterday, its marked E10.

Agree, it was difficult for me too between 3 Series and A4, however for factors quoted above and that I wanted to lets say play safe with my first foray into the luxury segment opted for A4.

There is a sticker for air pressure indications for varying loads in the car. It's pasted below the driver side door. That said, I've been happy with 32/33 psi for driving around alone, or even with a couple of folks in the car. For full load and filled boot I've usually been on 36 psi and have had no complains with ride quality.

Congratulations on your new ride, what exterior and interior color options did you end up choosing?

Many Congratulations! 2.0 TSI/TFSI is a gem to drive. Does fuel lid has E20 compliant sticker?

Hey, just checked, it is E10 only and min 95 octane. Manual says 91 can be used in emergencies. I'm tbh surprised since all cars since sometime last year are supposed to be BS6 stage 2 compliant, which means e20 if I recall correctly.

Also, when I test drove the car from Audi Delhi we saw the coasting feature in action. The car was in cruise control and the coasting would trigger pretty frequently. However with the car I got I'm not able to get the car to coast at all. Only when I'm in non-cruise control, and step off the accelerator it the gear shows E/D(in comfort) and no number. In cruise control it doesn't turn on. I've driven the car around 350 KM and it's only 2 days old so maybe with time it'll start turning on.

Also, the people who bought the car recently, did your cars come with a space saver tyre? Mine hasn't, planning on speaking with the dealer about it tomorrow.

Mine is Kodiaq 2.0 TSI MY 2022. Yes, it came with space saving spare tyre. Audi had recently made away with it - I fear this trend will soon spread across all of Volkswagen models. It's very strange that yours isn't E20 compliant officially. You better check with dealer & sort it out. All models sold post 1st April 2024 has to be E20 compliant. Also, do check your month of assembly & manufacture. If you are having engine transmission kit manufactured before 1st April 2024 - it could be E10 only.

It’s manufactured in march 2024.

The information I got from the showroom is that the “ BS6 B engines are E20 compatible”. Not sure if this makes any sense. I am yet to figure out what exactly this means.

Hey Silver smoke, I am going to speak to the dealer today. Can you send me a news article or a government notification or something that says that models sold post 1st April have to be e20 compliant.

Hope your issue is resolved. Here is the official document released by Niti Ayog, Govt of India which specifically illustrate that vehicles need to be E10 & E20 compatible - can run on both E10 & E20 from April 2023 only. Beyond April 2025, vehicles have to be running ONLY on E20 & they won't tolerate E5 or E10 fuels - in order to compensate for decreased efficiency, they will be tuned to draw more output from E20 [as ethanol decreases energy density] - with more compression ratio. If fed E10 or less, severe knocking will ensue.

Here are important extracts from the released document.
