I think will be changing my tires soon. I so much want to change my 19" to 20" and then get the Contis.

What do you think will be the damages?

1. 4 Contis : $1200
2. Swap with 4 20" wheels : XXXX??

How do I go about doing #2? Post on the forum or check with local BMW dealer?

Check this classifieds, somebody should post them for sale. There are some aftermarket wheels for sale too.

There should be others as well for sale. If you go to a dealer, then you are looking at almost 2500$ just for the alloys. If you look in the classifieds, may be you can break even at 2000$.

But if it is lease, no point investing on those. Just change the tires to Conti DWS 06 plus.

~2000 Mile Road Trip - Tail of the Dragon

Long Weekend Drive happened just after the long weekend here in US

Few of us BHPians from the Teambhp Rust belt group had planned a 2 day overnighter trip to the beautiful Great Smokey Mountains area. We have been planning this from quite sometime and finally it materialized and turned out to be one of the amazing trip for me here in US.

White Wolf performed flawlessly during this 1900 mile (3000 kms) drive and it never let me down at any given point of time. I almost tested its limits in straight lines and curves and it behaved as it is supposed to be and I am glad I bought this car. However, after driving my friend's M3 Competition I am sold over it and may be it will be in my garage in the future.

Main agenda of this trip was to drive the tail of the dragon (318 curves in 11 miles), known for its twisty roads and well known in the sports car and motorcycles world, here in US.

Due to some unexpected turns in my Visa process I had to relocate back to India and the White wolf was sold in Last November.

It was with a heavy heart I had to sell the car and it was a pleasure driving it for 1.5 years with approx. 18500 miles on it. Hope I get another chance to be back in US and get to enjoy more cars down the line.

I had bought this car at 61K$ and was able to sell it at 57K$. I got a good deal, hence sold it a little earlier than planned.

This is a huge surprise. Sorry to know about the turn on events of your visa situation. This is the biggest grouse of many folks living in America (never know where the tide is going to change. )

That is a fantastic re-sale price you got for owning the car for 1.5 years and clocking 18,500 miles. The X3 M40i is highly in demand and its resale value is really good.

Wow, it’s by sheer coincidence that I am now contemplating selling my “white wolf” since I will be moving to states. It has clock <8 in a year, has 3 year (now 2 remain) service package, dashboard cam and of course remains in impeccable condition. I intend to move in July so likely put it up for sale in June.
