Even I face the same issue in my Kodiaq with my iPhone 13. Yes the phone is smaller than the pad, and its possible what you're saying makes sense. Because, when I had my earlier phone in the car, a XS MAX, which did not move about so much, did not used to get hot at all. Although charging speeds were really poor. Will try again with my old phone over a long drive and report. The attached bulletin describes the issue perfectly, its exactly what happens with my iPhone 13. At first I thought this was happening due to the introduction of MagSafe in the iPhone back, but this explanation definitely makes more sense. According to the bulletin only solution is to buy a pro max model

Hi,
I am a Tiguan Allspace owner who also had a new Skoda Superb L&K. My iPhone 13 Promax never use to fit the Superb’s charging pad with the cover. After removing the cover it's a tight fit. By the way, even if your phone fits in there, the charging is too slow. It becomes very hot within no time. The wireless Apple car play connection breaks in between. Hope this helps.

Loved your experience with the Kodiaq. Wanted to ask you and other connoisseurs here, how you would compare it with the Jeep Meridian? It's expected to be more capable off road, but is it better/ same on road as well ?

I’ll list out a few differences and hope you can pick out the details that concern your dilemma.

- Meridien is slightly longer in comparison but wheelbase is longer in the Kodiaq. Meridien is also heavier than the Kodiaq which puts it at a slight disadvantage in terms of driving performance, might not feel as eager as the Kodiaq, which itself is not ferocious when it comes to out right performance.
- If you’re looking strictly at diesels, your options are only Meridien and Tucson. If not, Tiguan and Kodiaq are the only options that can satisfy the demands of a consumer in the range of 35-45 lakh.
- Meridien has a larger infotainment screen, in my opinion looks better than the Kodiaq.
- Kodiaq has 9 airbags vs 6 of the Meridien
- Limited Slip Differential is not available on Kodiaq.
- DCC vs. FSD suspension. DCC in Kodiaq is customisable, but not necessarily superior to the FSD of the Jeep in terms of ride quality.

I own a 2022 Lava blue L&K. I faced the charging issues as well. The reason might be what AROO7 mentioned.
I have one more concern, it seems that I did not receive any umbrellas with mine. I did not check whether it was there during the delivery and don't recall seeing it afterwards, neither in the umbrella holder nor with the accessories. Any suggestions what I should do?

I infact was very close to purchasing Compass as it met all my needs and expectation PLUS its timeless styling, interior quality, and music quality which holds true for Meridian. I did not need a 7-seater nor am I an offroader. The decision to go for Kodiaq was purely for everything it offers, a luxury factor and she is a looker

Unless your equation with SA is super, obtaining OR claiming your missing accessory may be impossible. Try anyway
OR if you really want one, buy something like this. I have tried and it fits in the holder

Giving some life to this thread. Been a while that she could stretch herself so here we go on a 3,000 kms road trip. Mumbai - Indore - Haryana - Udaipur - Mumbai

Must say start of this trip was stressful. Getting out of Mumbai through eastern express is always a task. Took 2 hours for the first 60kms. Roads all the way to Igatpuri is BAD.

Always wanted to have a TPMS in my Kodiaq. Remember the SPORTLINE version does not even have a passive TPMS
Hence bought an aftermarket TPMS by Agaro. Pretty simple setup and works seamlessly.

It’s been a while since I last contributed to this thread dedicated to what is one of my favorite acquisitions. Every day, I create memories with my Kodiaq. It energizes me during my hour-long work commute with its powerful sound system, power-on-tap acceleration, sleek all-black interiors, and smooth, comfortable ride. At the end of the day, it helps me unwind with its pristine interior ambiance, the soft glow of the ambient lighting, and the calming quietness of the cabin.

And today, in my free time, I revisited my February 2022 memory of the day I first brought her home by re-reading this entire thread. I recalled those nights when, for no reason, I’d turn the ignition, take her for a drive to Marine Drive, and enjoy those admiring glances from drivers of cars far more expensive than this.

Today, my Kodiaq marks 33 months and 23,000 kilometers, with nearly 15,000 of those being on memorable road trips to Goa, Delhi, and Indore. Over these 33 months, this car has become an integral part of my life. It gives me confidence, keeps me safe, and reassures me every day that this was worth every rupee spent. Not once have I felt the pangs of buyer's remorse or wondered, "What if I had saved my money and bought something else instead?"—a feeling I’ve had with almost all gadgets of today and cars of the past. Sure, I enjoy reading about and admiring the latest launches, but that’s where it ends.

Anyway, reading through this entire thread was incredibly nostalgic. Even though this version of the Kodiaq will soon become a part of history with the facelift arriving on our shores, the thread leaves a lasting impression that feels timeless. It’s this sentiment that has made me decide to keep this one alive for as long as I own the car.

Three months ago, while reversing, I didn’t notice a protruding tree branch, which ended up giving my Kodiaq a need for a bit of a "spinal adjustment." I plan to get it repaired in January during the third annual service. The quoted cost is 48,000, which includes removing the perfectly fine Skoda five-letter badge and replacing it with a new one.



And my favorite angle, tell when which car looks so clean and stylish under 80 lakhs. What's up with the wacky design these days!

I concur with your thought process that, also, does not let me let go of our 2012 Superb.

Some battle scars are good, as we say in our motorcycle fraternity.
