In my layman opinion, you carried out a wrong move. It's perfectly acceptable for a +5 psi rise in tyre pressure depending upon the type of tyres fitted, vehicle, weight of pax & luggage, speeds driven & road surface.

If you had set your tyres to 35 psi when cold, that would rightly have risen to 40. When you lowered it to 35 mid-way, that made it a risky 30 when cold. This is avoidable as (contrary to common knowledge), underinflation causes far more tyre blowouts than overinflation.

Wow! Congratulations on this beautiful new car! The car looks fantastic and is sure a great machine.

Long time back, I once owned an Audi A4 too (back in the US), and absolutely loved that car. It is a great car to drive on the open highways. Wish you many happy miles on this car, and looking forward to your trip reports and pictures with this car.

Re: 2021 Audi A4 2.0 TSI Technology Ownership Review

Every time I (with/without family) step into the car, the effervescent new car smell alongwith the gorgeous interiors greet us with a pleasant warmth and justifies the decision that we have taken.

Its been now 9 days since we brought the A4 home and the odo is just over the 600km mark. Its a shame, haven't driven it more already!

Started going back to office every other day now (another excuse to drive the four ringer ).

First day at office with the car, can't have enough of the magnificent Terra Grey color shade:

2021 Audi A4 2.0 TSI Technology Ownership Review-first-day-office.png

BTW, Audi uses this color on its official A4 corporate branding also.

And while on the way to office, each time, just totally loving the unpretentious & classy interior layout, the MMI adding that extra touch of class to the overall ambience.

Speaking of interiors, saw this on the passenger-side seat belt buckle. Felt-lining on the inside to prevent/reduce rubbing noise of the buckle, nice:

Check this usage of the 'Audi Progressive' red color in the "welcome" message:

And as for the MMI theme, my fav configuration - so clean yet so intuitive:

Yes! Me too prefers to 'go my own way' every time I take out the car, inspired by Lindsay Buckingham of the Fleetwod Mac band.

Re: 2021 Audi A4 2.0 TSI Technology Ownership Review

About 10 days ago, I had put up this post stating the incorrect picture put up on myAudi app. Slightly irked by the fact that Audi not being able to put up the exact variant & color of the car that I have purchased:

Have emailed Audi India, btw
Today, I am seeing this on the app:

2021 Audi A4 2.0 TSI Technology Ownership Review-img_3253.jpg

The car shining away to glory in the Terra Grey metallic color. I see the de-chromed front grill + 5 arm-parallel spoke style alloys of the the Premium Plus (that I have) variant, and NOT the dynamic style alloys + heavily chromed front grill of the 'Technology' variant.

Appreciate that the 4 ringer logos on the wheel are lined up horizontally alongwith the tyre valve at the dead center-bottom. Quite a task, that (could be a software rendition, most likely).

But credit where due

Now one more thing please, Audi: can the right-hand-drive config be reflected in the pic also?

Your work is inspiration, exemplified. Can't wait to get hold of the entire bunch!

Am trying to learn a thing or two in the process (a long way to go, though):

Re: 2021 Audi A4 2.0 TSI Technology Ownership Review

First of all, what a great thread this is. Congratulations to the fellow BHPians on acquiring this magnificent looking car. In my pursuit to search a new car (entry level luxury), I having browsing a lot of posts and talking to a lot of people. I did a test drive of Camry. I liked the Camry a lot. Considering it's Toyota which is cheap to maintain and is reliable - I was almost done with my selection. But, few people asked me to look for the other options as well.

Given my preferences (good space inside, good looks, good driving experience and a good fuel economy) the only car I am going to try is Audio A4.

Few Questions, before I test drive the A4 in couple of days:

1. My local dealer in Gurgaon is quoting a 49 lakhs ex-showroom and nearly 57 lakhs on-road price for Technology trim. How did you manage such a sweet deal. Prices have certainly increased but I would still try my luck for a 52-53 lakhs deal, if it is possible.

2. How does it compare to Camry? Any few liners comparison/feedback would be appreciated. And how does the mileage for A4 hit like?

3. Okay, last question - The local dealership says that I should not be worried about extended service as for Audi cars it is very costly. Rather go for normal servicing which would cost around 30, 000 per year. I am still confused on why he did not pitch me the service package. What's your story guys.

Thanks in advance.

Great choice. Hope you enjoy the Test Drive. Will leave it to @JoshMachine to tell you the differences between the camry and a4 since he was in the same boat.

There were 2 price hikes...one on the 1st of Jan 2022 and again on 1st of April 2022. Hence the prices will definitely have gone up to a considerable extent. I have an acquaintance from Kolhapur who bought a Technology variant this month from Audi Pune for 56 OTR as well. So I think it is par for the course.

The last PP bought on TBHP was at 52-53.. so expect a 3 Lac premium over that for the Technology variant.

Mileage wise you can expect around 11 kmpl in the city and a comfortable 15.5 to 16 kmpl on the highway. Since our car runs more on the highway our overall average is around 14 kmpl since purchase.

We have also not bought any Service Pack since according to me the cost for the Service pack is the same as what will cost for paying every service as it comes. Our Sales Advisor also said the same thing to us. So why should we pay that cost upfront?

Do note that 30k service cost will be for minor service which comes after the 1st, 3rd, 5th etc years. For the 2nd, 4th, 6th year ...you will have a major service which will cost 60k or so. I think it will be around 2.5-2.7 lac for 5 years / 75000km (around 50k on average). However the comprehensive service pack for 80k kms is around 3.5 lacs. So in any case you can pay for each service as it comes without it being more expensive.

Happy shopping!

You may want try out the Skoda Superb and the Volvo S60 also, just to get a wider perspective.
But don't blame me if your decision thinking goes for a toss

There has been a 10-15% hike in the past 1 year across all A4 variants. You might want to deliberate which variant really hits the sweet spot for your preferences. For 52-53 lakhs on-road in NCR, I think Premium Plus variant could be a close winner.

The A4 and the Camry are miles apart when it comes to how they drive (hybrid battery vs petrol-only), how they handle (suspension setup is quite different), and ofcourse the luxe quotient of the interiors - which is possibly the biggest differentiation point.
Camry might give you a slightly bigger feeling car to car, but it misses the taut feel of a true-blue German pedigree, that the A4 dishes out in dollops.
Then there is the peculiar thing about prices (discounting or otherwise) - it can be a hit or miss proposition. Camry gives zilch discounts, and the A4 can get you some depending upon the time + negotiation.
Last thing about mileage, Camry will win here hands down specially in the city (virtually all on battery if you ride economically) but the A4 can pleasantly surprise with its respectable fuel efficiency.
Out on the highway though, the hybrid loses its value proposition while the A4 surges ahead with its stellar 5-link suspension. And ofcourse, not to forget that brilliant S-Tronic of the German which the Japs cannot emulate, ever.

Again, a very individual perspective. If you drive more (lets say 15-20,000+km annually ballpark), your car wears & tears more, you service more. And that's where the service package can potentially come handy.
As Sauravpat said rightly, its not the basic/minor service but the major /replacement services that can burn your wallet.

Re: 2021 Audi A4 2.0 TSI Technology Ownership Review

Hi Guys,
I am inclined to Book the A4 Premium. Previously I had owned a 320d F30, 2014 model for a short while. Was not very impressed with the interiors although the drive was good.
Wanted to check if there are any discounts available for the A4? Which is the best month to book the A4 with discounts.
Currently I am offered around 2.5 lakhs discount for the A4. I am also being told that the complimentary service pack and extended warranty is not applicable for Premium variant

The part about the extended warranty not being valid is just ridiculous. No such thing. You can absolutely get extended warranty for any Audi car.

As part of their 15 year anniversary in India, you will get extended warranty for free till the end of 2022.

Our family owns a Premium variant. Can highly recommend it. Great car and you don't lose out on much compared to the upper variants which are 4+ Lakhs more expensive. However if you have the budget do go for them.

It would help if you can tell us what you have been quoted now. Also would like to tell you that 1st July is going to see a massive 2.3 Lakh increase in price on the Premium variant. Came up on the New car price thread on the forum last week.

So after that they will reduce this price and tell you that they are giving you a 4.7x lakh discount. So it would help if you can lock in the price now with your sales guy.

The cases of insane 8-10 L discounts have disappeared in 2022. We got ours for a 4.7 L discount in Jan 2022. No service package though. But you can certainly buy it for a lowered price after negotiations. It is certainly valid for the Premium variant.

Thanks a lot Saurav for the detailed information. I was quoted 46.5 for premium variant initially but need to sit and negotiate.

The SA informed about the price hike. He also asked if I was intrested in Q3 which will be launched soon.

Shall I wait till September to see if further discounts are available?
I am inclined only towards the premium variant as i feel it is more value added.

Not sure if adequate stocks are available due to chip shortages.

As much as a couple of us got good deals on the A4 in August last year I doubt there is any fixed pattern for rolling out discounts apart from March and December end offers which too aren't as common and all out as they used to be.

If you really like the A4 (or any other car) be in touch with a sales advisor at your local dealership, check what discounts are available in the current month and be straight forward in what you'd be comfortable to proceed with the purchase. If they find your offer reasonable I'd imagine any self respecting sales team to bridge the gap and close it for you.

Jumping boats between from the Harrier to the Superb and then the Octavia for over 12 months the A4 literally fell into my lap last year with least expectation of it going through. After our first discussion on the A4 not working out I had called to confirm a stunning silver 320D GT that I had held back freezing a weekend prior to see what comes through on the A4 (great car from unknown dealer v/s buying brand new) only to find out its sold. Thankfully though the A4 came deal came around in the next couple of days from not one but both dealers in town and rest as they say is history

I was in touch with Bmw sales guy also. But they do not have 330i sports variant.
My only choice is the A4 now with this budget.
I am in touch with Audi sales person. As you have mentioned, its best I list out my offer snd wait if they can close it.

They will say that, but after 2-3 months they'll make it available. You just have to showcase enough enthusiasm and excitement. I took delivery of 330i Sport earlier this month.
Was in touch with SA for a long time now, negotiated over M Sport almost, before I was informed of the availability of a white 330i Sport.
