This is incorrect, and no ECU value needs to be edited. And no, such changes are not reset on any future service. This is an issue only on BMW/Mini cars, no such issues on VAG cars including audi.

Just to keep information correct in this thread,

I humbly disagree with your statement, this information is only regarding my experience with the B9.5 petrol Audi A4.

A fellow BHPian who introduced me to the OBDEleven had changed speed warning settings in his MY2021 Skoda Superb. He offered to change the warnings on my car but was unable to do so.

After a lot of research, this is what I have found. The technology trim has a speed warning function which can be changed by the user. This is usually the only warning that can be changed by the OBDEleven.
The 80 & 120 speed warning are not in the usual feature of the car and have been encoded into the ECU.

During routine servicing one of the procedure of Audi is to flash the ECU to factory default to negate any small errors that may have entered into the overall system during regular use. This may not be a procedure with VW or Skoda.

I would also like to bring to your attention the following experience by our moderator ajmat.

I might have considered an FNG but the standards at Audi were impressive. Only issue - they remapped the engine back to standard!!! It needed a remap again. Next time must warn them not to touch the engine map.

Thanks for sharing your info and experience. But i would say this is purely the inexperience of the Bhpian using obdeleven if he couldn't do it, it can be done and yes, even Specifically the B9.5 Technology 2.0 TSI.(I'm not speaking from anything other than my experience on multiple units of this car and other similar Audis as well)

Regarding the flashing to stock it is not at all a regular procedure to flash everything back to stock, not even in Audi. No small errors enter into the system in general use and the only reason his car was flashed to "stock" is the dieselgate Fiasco. Unless you have a pre 2016 TDI in your Audi, you dont need to worry

Cheers

@gungax: My MY16 Octavia had a setting in the MFD itself for a user-changeable sped warning. I don't think you need OBDEleven for that basic speed-based chime warning.

@agambhandari: as you maybe aware, I have recently picked up a Audi Q3 35TDI Premium variant manufactured in July 2016, and registered in BLR in November 2016.

My question is how do I know if any dieselgate mods (if at all applicable) have been carried out? I have the entire service history with me, but cannot make out anything from the same. A couple of services in 2017-18 have the standard VAG code "GFF/Guided Functions", but nothing else.

Any pointers what I should look for? There is nothing wrong with the car, and it also cleared the PUC too yesterday.

OT:
If your car has visited the Audi service centre regularly, its a given that they would have put in the update for it. Maybe you can check with them to see when was the last time ECU was flashed. Dieselgate fix basically just gets the car to comply to emissions in all scenarios but does blunt the performance a bit. It is possible to revert the ECU back to the original map through ODIS or some people just get a remap anyway. For your kind of use, dont think you would notice much difference. You have the Bimmer for the thrills

Looks like the A4 too got expensive!! The latest quote for A4 Technology is 57.50 lakh on road +1% TCS (MH) and this include 5 Year Warranty + Service. Sales guy told me that this is a rock bottom price and no further negotiations

The SA is offering Technology variant at 57 lakhs and 52 lakhs on Premium plus model this month. Is this a good deal ? Or should I push for more discounts.

Re: 2021 Audi A4 2.0 TSI Technology Ownership Review

I got to drive the A4 45 TFSI Quattro for a fortnight stateside. Unfortunately due to an extremely tight schedule, I couldn’t do any long drives, but here is my observation based on a fortnight of urban and semi urban drives.
  • First and foremost the nose heavy feeling that I experienced when test driving in Bangalore simply did not exist in the Quattro model. It was quiet nimble.
  • The all black interiors while giving a cramped perception of the interiors were much better in look and feel
  • The seats had heavy side bolstering and I found that uncomfortable. Mind you am not on the heavy side.
  • The boot was much more spacious than the 3 and C
  • The Audi pre sense was quiet unnerving on many occasions
  • I actually had a difficult time getting in and out of the car . I don’t remember it being this bad in the Indian version
  • The car wasn’t as quiet in the inside as I expected it to be. There was fair amount of road noise creeping in
  • The 18 inchers and the deteriorating Bay Area roads meant the rides weren’t as smooth as ine would like
  • Despite a 250 bhp engine the car returned 28 MPG on quite a few occasions. Drive it hard and it easily dipped to 18.
  • The car was quiet nimble to handle and made silly speeds before you know
  • The interiors are really well put and looks upscale. However the driver side door was creaking a lot despite just having 6000 miles on the odo
Overall I enjoyed the car and it was definitely better than the Indian one. I will let the pictures do the rest of the talking.

Re: 2021 Audi A4 2.0 TSI Technology Ownership Review

Hi guys!
Im a newbie member but have been following Team BHP for years so thank you to all for the invaluable input over the years!
Being a proud owner of an Audi A4 40 TFSI Technology, I thought that this was the best place to make this post regarding my issues in the last 4 months of owning this beauty.
This being my second Audi A4 (the earlier one was a B8.5), I knew what to expect going into the ownership of this car and it has a very pleasurable experience mixed with a few niggles which i want to address.

Startup shiver - I have noticed a mild shiver/shake during a cold startup for about 30 seconds. Is this normal? Possibly has something to do with the mild hybrid?

Fuel economy - I have read that most of the owners are getting around 12-13 kmpl. The most that I have managed driving in economy mode with a very light right foot has been 12! Any thoughts as to why that would be?

S Line pedals - Due to the warranty most of my upgrades will have to cosmetic for the next 5 years. Thinking of getting S line pedals for a sportier look - would you recommend getting them from Audi itself or are there any aftermarket options?

Interior trim scratches - The area around the center console and AC vents is made of a very high gloss material finished in black which looks phenomenal but is very prone to scratches. Im very careful with what goes on with my car but even then I haven't been able to prevent these minor scratches.
I've read that ScratchX will be able to take care of these surface scratches - has anyone tried this? or any other remedy?
Thinking of getting a protection film if there is no other option.

Phone box - I was one of the unfortunate few who got their car when Audi was having chip issues and did not fit the car with a phone box.
I have spoken to the dealer and have been told that nothing can be done about this and I have to source an aftermarket one.
The cars before mine and after mine all have the phone box so Im definitely feeling shortchanged in this regard.
What options do I have? Is it possible for Audi to retro fit a phone box now that the chips are available? If not does anyone know of good wireless charging devices which can fit into the center armrest storage?

Alloy wheels - All A4's come fitted with 17" wheels, even the top Technology model. Not only is the alloy design very sedate but I feel the wheel arches are too big to sufficiently accommodate this wheel size.
The tyres just seem too small for the wheel arches, most the A'4s I have seen abroad have 18" inch wheels and fill out the wheel arch much better.
Im thinking of upgrading to 18 inchers - got a qoute of 2L form Audi for the 4 wheels plus tyres so I have laid that option to rest.
If i do go for aftermarket alloys would that void the warranty?
If yes, is there any option of getting OEM alloys from outside?

A lot of questions but I'd be grateful for your responses and advice.
Happy driving!

Hi gungax,
is the comfort seat option only available after integration with audi connect dongle? I have the technology A4 22 manufactured and the mmi doesn't show the seats option at all. Has anyone else faced the same issue?

Although I did not activate 'Comfort Seats' with the OBDEleven app, I noticed the option on the MMI only after I had connected the OBD dongle. Will check again once I am home.

Startup shiver during cold startup is present in my car but very mild. Startup shiver when the mild hybrid system starts the car at a traffic light is sometimes jarring and gets me worried.

On a good highway with cruse control on for extended periods of time I have got 18-20. With my heavy foot, the fuel economy stays below 10. Engine sounds really nice at high RPM! You should be able to eventually settle in 15 Km/l average with a light foot.

I got my pedals from the showroom at full price. Picked up chrome electric seat switches and chrome 12V socket cover from Amazon USA, they are good quality and should serve the purpose just fine. After market pedals should work just fine too.

Once you have the initial set of scratches, beyond a point it doesn't look too bad. With kids sitting in the car often I too am concern that the glossy bits will not age well.
Some detailers agree to apply PPF on the interiors but most usually don't attempt in a car like this because if not careful the water used for application can really mess with the electronics.
Alternatively you can enjoy the gloss black for now and change the trim after a few years.

Since you don't have a phone box installed you could install wireless charging from after market options. The phone box wireless charging is slow for android and usually unusable for iPhones.
Amazon has a few options which fit in the small space ahead of the gear shifter, below the 12v socket.

Basically you wish to have the 18" as shown by "SR-71", just one post before yours. As per his experience and also mine driving A4 with low profile tyres in UK, the ride will become uncomfortable.
I have also tried to change the alloys to black ones, I have been told it voids the warranty.

Lots of Audi owners here. Would kindly request you to please share any pointers here on this post (Audi A4 | MMI error whenever I restart the car after long breaks)
I really hope that this issue can be fixed ! Will the dongle connection solve it by any chance?

Yes, I have the dongle installed since before delivery. It is installed in a different location inside the dashboard.

The OBD port below the steering wheel is free to use as required.

Re: One year and 10,000 Km Update

Hi Gungax,

I have an A4 Technology 2021 model. My car doesn't show the "Comfort Seat" option in the MMI. Has this feature been there in your car since the beginning or has it been unlocked aftermarket?
