Thanks ramnaresh. I will definitely consider them. The air purifier is a standard accessory that can be purchased. Now that you mentioned it, TPMS is a good addition. Somehow I never realise that one of the wheel is low or flat until someone passing by me by tells me. So, this would be useful.

Congratulations for getting Blaze!!

Very nicely written review. In the same boat as you, except that I got the petrol automatic given my low running and high city driving.

Longitude (O) is definitely VFM as compared to the Limited variant, though in hindsight I think the Sport variant is even better (I got the Longitude for auto AC, which unfortunately is quite weak).

1. Ease of using EPB, as its located near to passenger side.
2. Visibility during rains, as the headlights look bright white.

I do not see any problem in accessing the EPB even though it is in the passenger side. but the passenger would have better access to it.

I have not driven the car during night while raining yet.

Are you happy with the Firestones?

Do not have any problems with tires. Not noisy enough to complain in high-speed travels. Grip seems to be good too in inclines.

Yes. Sport makes better sense. It lacks a few features and the roof rails. Family was quite keen to get the roof rails plus and I on the other features. We did not want the sun roof though. Later got to know that the roof rails was a part of the standard accessories (~18k) which you can fit on the sport. But not the others (bigger ICE, digital console, dual AC, fog lamps)

Wait! so we buy a car upwards of 25lacs and we don't even get a Cruise Control?!?!:Frustrati I think we can retrofit cruise control. At first, I thought the cruise control was controlled by ECU, but turns out if we can procure the OEM parts from the higher variant, THEORETICALLY it would work without voiding the warranty. I found a few videos on youtube where the customers sourced oem parts of higher variants and fitted it.

Hey, I had looked into this. In the compass cruise control only came in the automatic models, whereas creta got it in at and mt models. I think compass would be more difficult to retrofit.

Hi, I think we are apartment mates. Sent you a DM about it.

Its a very small world after all I guess.

Been drooling this red compass in my apartment, that's in the spot alloted for washing cars, and today I learn that it's owned by a fellow Bhp'ian

Hey Turbolove, technically, It should not matter if the car is manual or automatic. The cruise control should work irrespective of the kind of transmission. But hey, I'm no engineer. I'm just an auto enthusiast who finds anything related to cars really interesting (like everyone in our teambhp family). I'm actually trying to fit cruise control to my Micra Dci. But so far no luck. Need dive deeper.

P.S. Apologies to Hypermiler for hijacking your thread. Congratulations on your new ride. I just love cars in red. Please get the alloys painted black. IMHO, the contrast of red car with black alloys is gonna look killer:loveit

Congratulations clap:
Wishing you millions of safe and joyful kilometres :thumbs up

Compass looks H-O-T in red and after facelift, the interiors are a lot welcoming.

That might be hill-hold in action.

Congratulations on your Compass. The car looks good in red. Your experience in Gurudev makes me wonder if it comes down to personality and not the showroom procedure. Bought my Nexon there and the SA was quite good, when I went in recently to check out the Safari they were not enthusiastic to show me the car.

Happy driving!!

Loved your car and your writing style man! Specially the separate bag for slippers! Can totally relate to that. We have it too and also a separate bag for additional inners in case we get stuck anywhere + food.

Wishing you a minimum 1.5Lakh kms of safe and trouble free ownership.

Congratulations on your Compass and welcome to Red Compass club. It sure does turn heads wherever you park it.
Wishing you thousands of safe and happy miles on your new ride !

[*] The tool kit and the reflector have Velcro strips to stick them to the boot floor. This takes up space on the floor compared to the other cars where they are usually kept within the spare wheel space or under the boot lid. If I were to get a rubber boot mat, then kits will have to be kept loose or I may need to get a net.

Enjoyed reading your review. So many things i could relate to. Harrier smitten but gave up, 5 feet 7 inches, Diesel manual brings a smile on the highways, Honda City comparisons, city driving in gear 1 with half clutch. I am alternating 1 and Neutral to avoid half clutch. Again, i am not sure if thats the correct way of doing it.

The tool kit and reflector velcro should be stuck behind the back seat than the boot floor. This is what the SA told me. Thats where it belongs as per him. And i have it hanging there really well.

Love the cloth interiors of Longitude. Limited has the auto IRVM.
