I put this also high on the list. The one I got from Aliexpress has held well since last 4 years, works really well too, In fact other than for fog lamp illumination, I guess I have never touched the switch for basic headlamps operation. Additionally, it adds another feature to the car - coming home and leaving home, whose time you can again change using the VCDS, mine is set at 15 seconds. And the switch itself allows you to calibrate the sensor for when to turn on or off the lamps based on the light outside, just adjust them initially and keep adjusting till you get it absolutely right. Since the speedo and tacho gauges of Polo get difficult to read even in slight dark, I have adjusted my parking lights to come on quite early, hence it works like a forever illuminated instrument cluster for me

Thanks for this, I'll put this up separately on the tyre upsizing thread too, but the incremental % of going from the current tyre to what you have recommended appears to come to 2% which should be avoided I believe! Will look into this in detail.
Highline plus trim comes with 195/55 R16, additionally the service guys never caused an issue with the 195/60 R15 to me and the people in my circles who got this done.

Check the attached comparison for reference, it's not a 2% breach. 195/55 R16 is a size fixed on the car by VAG engineers after all.

A close friend of mine purchased a Lapiz Blue Polo Highline Plus AT a month ago and needs a headlight upgrade. I have purchased Nighteye LED's from amazon, and I took them to the Volkswagen service center to get them installed. The technician was unable to install the LED bulbs.
Yes the holder needs to be modified. You will find this video useful -

That is exactly why I got it done directly from the dealer before taking delivery - don't want to mess up my warranty.

Ah, I got you now, but the difference is that the variant I have (Comfortline AT) already comes with R15s. The tyres are 185/60 R15, hence the difference in our calculations.

If you want to upgrade your tires then 195/60R15 is the only viable option, unfortunately.

If you go to 195/55R15 then your rolling diameter goes down to 23.4" which is 1.3% smaller than that of the stock tires thus defeating the purpose which I assume is to increase the sidewall height to improve the ride quality.

205/55R15 could be considered however such a wide tire might foul with the wheel well cladding or your bumper etc. With this size, the rolling diameter increases by just 0.8% and is thus within the recommended range. Additionally, this tire size would require a minimum of 5.5J size wheel which I'm not sure Polo comes with.

195/60R15 at 2.1% is very close to the upper limit of 2% increase in the rolling diameter normally recommended while upsizing (in case of cars; SUV have a slightly higher percentage at 3%) and should work just fine.

Running a set of 205s on our Rapid, I can safely say that these sit quite comfortably and do not foul with the wheel wells at all. People run wider 17 inchers on Polo too.

To the OP, the ride quality would marginally take a hit, and you’ll feel every bump and pothole on the road. That’s a trade-off you’d have to make for increased grip and traction though! But if comfort is what you’re looking for, I’d say stay away. Get 195/55s or 60s.

Thank you for your candid write-up. And, an excellent purchase decision - choosing quality over quantity (safety equipment & good to have features versus fancy equipment)

I have seen quite a few Polos in my city with ORVMs finished in black and a black rear spoiler. They look pretty cool. May be you should reconsider getting the rear spoiler.

Leather wrap for the steering wheel is an absolute feel good factor especially for someone who spends a lot of time behind the wheel.

Congratulations and happy motoring!

Thank you! Absolutely - went for what matters more than nice-to-have features! Yes I will think about the Spoiler. Maybe a black roof wrap with the spoiler will look nice.

Thank you, It's a unique color for sure! Will keep this thread updated.

Any recommendations from BHPians on getting a ceramic coating done? A friend suggested that for darker colors it really helps. Or will regular detailing sessions (twice a year) be enough? The paint quality & shine right now is great. Here's a close-up pic from a recent rainy drive -

Congratulations Shreyas! Lovely to read your experiences so far. Absolutely in love with the Lapiz Blue on your polo too! Having spent 60k kms behind the wheel of a GT TSI, I can assure you that the car just never stops to excite! I affectionately dubbed it the traffic mosquito as it zips around traffic with utmost ease and insane pace. Happy miles ahead!

Re: Ownership Review | My 2021 VW Polo Comfortline Automatic | Blue Dynamite

Many congratulations Shreyas, for your new steed, the fantastic Polo A/T.
While reading your review and the buying decision, I was actually revisiting my own experiences and brought home the Polo GT TSI (Flash Red) a week back.
Coming from the Elite i20 petrol, it is definitely an upgrade in terms of engine responsiveness, ride and handling.
I have always liked how the Polo looks and it’s build quality, but introduction of TC unit is what sealed the deal for me.
Hoping for a wonderful and long ownership experience with it and wish the same for you too.
Cheers!

Thank you, Parth! I keep hearing from Polo TSI owners about the fun they've had in the car. Traffic mosquito is a nice name

Thank you, Coolvik and welcome to the 1.0L TSI club! Wish you many happy miles with your flash red Polo too!

So, I took the car today for the 1 month Swaagat service check, where they do a 10 point check and do a complimentary car wash. Took it to Autobahn Volkswagen workshop in VidyaVihar as it's very close to my residence.

It's a nice setup, neatly managed and professional service advisors, good experience today. Nothing much they had to do, car has not even touched 500km so far.

Got a complimentary car care kit too

The service center is offering extended warranty for the 5th and 6th year for around Rs 18,000. Any thoughts if that's a reasonable quote?

Other than this, nothing much to report, car is running well and the engine+gearbox is really fun, tried it out in sports mode and that's even more fun!

Go for the extended warranty if you can. If not, then you may buy one when the car is in the 3rd or 4th year.

Try to negotiate on service package. I got one for 21K for 2 annual services and 2 check ups with multiple other freebies thrown in. Mine is a diesel DSG hence 21K, yours would be around 16-18K. It is a Value for money package and if you trust the SA then there is pick up and drop service.

Not sure of Autobahn, VW Sewri has a Shaman Shield with the service package. It means you dont have to spend a single rupee during any insurance claims, has an additional RSA as well.

Congratulations on the purchase. Lovely review. Great pictures! Don’t worry about the warranty as long as you’re doing reversible upgrades that don’t leave any trace. But there’s a plethora of upgrades available for these cars. There’s no end or limit to it. You can have 10 lakhs and spend all of it on upgrades, such is the potential of how modular this platform is.

Thanks! I'll enquire about the service package. Yes Autobahn has something similar in their offering as well. Will do some more research on the extended warranty rates before finalizing.

Thanks Sarfraz! Absolutely - the upgrades done by you, fluidicjoy and others on their VW cars has been a revelation, and an inspiration! I'm planning to start slow - firstly cosmetic upgrades, then some plug & play ones, then move on to bigger things (very inspired by your MK8 steering upgrade )

I was offered the Extended Warranty (5th & 6th year) for around 15000/- and went for it. Please ask your dealer SA what offer is currently running for the same. The earlier you buy EW the better offer you would get, I guess.
