Thanks for the updates, as well as on Xtragreen. I wanted to try this on our Innova but was not sure if it will do good or harm to the exhaust after treatment. But glad to know you are having a good experience.

On the other hand, I switched from BP diesel to IOC regular diesel from the last three tanks. Even in my Innova, with BP diesel, regen used to happen like clockwork at the 200kms mark. But after switching to IOC, its somewhere near 240-250kms. Seems like the quality of diesel is better even in regular IOC with lesser soot formation in the DPF. Not sure if this will also extend adblue replacement intervals. So far, I got the 2500km countdown at 7000 and 14000km odd marks. But I have been using Toyota adblue only and did not explore other options.

That is very good. I get 2500KM warning at about 4.5-5K KM mark. Got a Tata DEF this time around, haven't driven after filling but I doubt there will be any noticeable difference.

Of course, the DEF doesnt have to do anything with performance. At the most you would only notice a different replacement interval based on the quality of Adblue. If its of good quality, then the dosage would be less and hence last longer and vice versa. But thats it.

Ok, any idea what concentration is preferred for Toyota? I see concentration varies from 32-37%. Toyota can mentions AUS32 grade. Does this mean 32% concentration?

Adblue is specified globally under ISO22241 and it is at 32.5% concentration. I havent come across 37% of concentration. All Adblue manufacturers I have come across still follow AUS32.

Great, so AdBlue/DEF from a good brand which is ISO22241(or AUS32) should be good in case Toyota ones are not available. Price seem to be on rise and new batches are expected to have even higher price.

Hello PrideRed!

How do you find the audio quality from the stock 11 speaker setup?! Any need for upgradation?

Regards,
Powertrain

The bass is slightly lower, clarity is very good especially the front speakers. I can easily listen for hours at higher volume without bleeding my ears. The speakers at rear are bit average especially w.r.to loudness. If you are an audiophile and love thumping bass, then an upgrade might be needed, for others like me, this is perfect. Advantage with lower volume at back is, I can pump up volume listen to loud music, without having to listen to complaints from folks at back.

Re: 2021 Toyota Fortuner 4x4 AT | Ownership Review

New ride, personal commitments ensured Fortuner had not got much run time. ODO is at 17K, which is little lower than average monthly running. During last outing had got AdBlue warning. Car munched good 500-600KM post warning. Did not have immediate plan to visit Toyota service, hence picked up 5Lx2 cans + 2L can of DEF from town. Bought a 20RS plastic funnel and another 30RS for plastic mug. Car gulped exact 7L of DEF and filling took less than 5 min. Higher altitudes and frequent short trips may be reasons to avoid BS6 diesel, for rest use cases BS6 has been fill it shut it forget it. While refilling DEF is a 5 min job, it's much better than visiting service center for 5K service, which is the case with BS4 Toyota. Touchwood, for now don't see DPF bothersome as it is made to be, provided you have some basic understanding of system and know what to do when.

Weekend routine, this time around had got a new spray gun, gave a good underbody wash. Was satisfying seeing all the muck fall down.

Fortuner is always ready for the surprise, just business as usual. This is not Himalayan range but at NH75 near Gundya .

Re: 2021 Toyota Fortuner 4x4 AT | Ownership Review

Work commitments, travel, did not get to drive much. Aliexpress TPMS which lasted a good 4 years, started giving trouble finally. Actually just one of the sensor was leaking air and could not get same rectified. Rest 3 were fine but decided to get an internal TPMS. Wanted set of 5 and Sensairy was out of stock. Got hold of Treel for 750 per sensor. So far is working fine and no complaints. Like Sensairy, default app from play store is not compatible with Android Auto. Team gave me an apk and is now working fine with Android Auto.

Re: 2021 Toyota Fortuner 4x4 AT | Ownership Review

For the first time since purchase Fortuner is doing city duty since 2 weeks. Size makes its presence felt especially in heavy traffic. In heavy B2B traffic where a KM takes 10 mins to cover, FE in MID hovers around 8KMPL. Have been doing lot of short drives, so far no BS6 related issues, will be keeping a close eye on this one.

Good wash after long. Running has come down drastically as there has not been many long drives. ODO is close to 19K and next service is a trip away. Plan to dechrome, but not quite sure if to go with paint or wrap, and have to pull out some time too.

Just curious - why de-chrome? Chrome looks gorgeous on your car!

I own a 4x4 Diesel AT Fortuner 2021 in "attitude black" (fortuner lingo). Chrome looks even prominent on that color. Attaching a sunrise image somewhere in Jharkhand.

However, in case you go ahead with de-chroming, I heard that wrapping gives issues 3-4 years down the line. Corrupts the paint, even with the costly 3M services.
