As you said, features gets shuffled, added and deleted across variants. Hence you should consider the current brochure only.
Thanks. After doing some more evaluation, we zeroed down to santro and nios and felt santro smaller for us and hence have booked nios a week back. Just not sure when we will get. Hopefully soon.

Re: Hyundai Santro Sportz AMT Review | 2 years & 21000 km up

Couple of dealers in Hyderabad say that the santro amt has just now got discontinued and they are not able to place orders for it. Does anyone know if this is true or could it be a temporary supply related issue? Would be unfortunate if this is the case as I found the santro amt to be closest to a CVT/TC.
They are asking me to go for i10 Nios. I felt the the Nios amt had a a tad lag more than the santro amt. Plus I am looking for a city- only car so the more compact the better

Re: Hyundai Santro Sportz AMT Review | 2 years & 21000 km up

Had a discussion with a hyundai sales guy a couple of days ago. He promised 2 months delivery for AMT. But he wasn't very knowledgable so I wont take it seriously.

I am in the same dilemma. I find nios very big. Plus dont like the dashboard design. All the small cars from other companies are 1 litre 3 cylinder engine.

On the topic, I wont be surprised if Santro itself is discounted. That is my another concern. Not that there will be service related issues. But you dont want to buy a car about to be discontinued.

.
One more dealer I approached also mentioned that Hyundai has stopped taking bookings for Santro AMT Maybe this is the case in some states only ? You could try through your dealer and see if luckily it goes through.

Looks like the only options I have are the new Celerio / Wagon R AMT now. I did a test drive of the Celerio and the AMT was alright but I was just not comfortable with the paper like flimsy tin can body.

Myself and Wife are first time drivers. Back in Oct 2021, we booked Spresso as we wanted a small car. Since it wasn't delivered for 3 months, we cancelled booking and headed to Hyundai showroom to see Santro and Nios.

Santro was nice small car we liked and it had AMT and all too. Didn't take TD (As they only had manual and we didn't want to drive that). Then we went to Nios and it was better interior wise and we liked the car and also I did a test drive too. That's when we finalized the Nios and currently have it in parking.
Santro was nice but we just felt inside it was little small and Nios for some reason felt pretty big inside but didn't appear much big outside.

Let me tell you, the Nios in my society seems to be the smallest car (as I see from my 3rd floor home). In my society parking, we have other hatchbacks like Baleno too. From inside, the Nios feels really big, especially for new drivers like me. I have heard and can feel that space management inside the Nios is really good which makes it feel bigger than it is, inside. Myself and wife still keep feeling like we are driving a truck when we take Nios on road but we are getting used to it.

We have just driven literally only 50 Kms in last one week but the AMT for us is super smooth and I don't feel any jerks. May be because I am concentrating more on driving as I am a new driver but many a times, on slightly open road, I realize I am at 45 Kmph and gear showing D3 or D4.

I decide to get a small automatic for my parents and strongly consider the Santro Sportz AMT. I go to one dealer yesterday who quotes me a 24 weeks lead time for Sportz AMT and states that Hyundai isn't producing Santro AMTs anymore. The Sales guy drops hint for me to move onto greener pastures (Santro MT or Nios AMT), but I am reluctant as my use case mandates automatic transmission.

I find the 6 months LT atrocious so I go to the second dealer thereafter - and as luck would have it, the Sales guy confirms that there is a single Sportz AMT lying in their stock (booking was allocated to another customer, who is refusing to take delivery now). I get a quote, come back home, discuss with family and decide to finalize the deal after doing PDI and commercials (in that order). Today, before I could call, the Sales guy calls me up to ask regarding my decision; to which I tell him that I will finalize only upon doing PDI. He also informs me that another customer is on the verge of finalizing and that I should hurry up with the booking. Passing this off as yet another sales tactics, I nudge him to offer his final price on the deal. He calls back after 10 mins and gives me an offer which looks decent. I tell him that I'll discuss shortly and call him back. Guy calls me after 5 mins and says that the other customer has finalized the booking and that's the end of the last Santro AMT inventory in Kolkata! Well, some things are not meant to be - so close yet so far.

I can vouch that no dealer in Kolkata (Saini Hyundai, Gajraj Hyundai, Bengal Hyundai) has available stock of Santro AMT. They are either quoting very high lead time to dissuade customers or they are outright refusing bookings. I have no clue if this is a production related problem or whether Hyundai is contemplating to take off Santro from their lineup, but it's a lot of money on the table in terms of missed opportunities.

I am not too keen on buying the contemporaries of Santro, but I suppose if I have to go ahead, Kwid, Celerio, Wagon-R is the way forward. I am not sure if stretching is an option (might need to relook at finances), otherwise, can consider Nios AMT (Magna) or Tiago AMT XTA.

If someone gets a heads up regarding the availability of Santro AMT, please do chime in.
