I think there is a small button behind steering wheel. There are two: left one for radio channels switch (I don't listen to radio, but i guess it was switching) and right one to mute audio.

Congrats on the purchase, just curious to know did you try out the 4wd system? Any feedback and honest thoughts? Went through a few YouTube videos where it did not seem as capable as some of the ladder-frame 4x4 cars like Fortuner or Endeavour or Isuzu for that matter. Wanted to know your thoughts since you own it for few months now I guess.

Mod Note : Please avoid typing with excessive dots.........like................this.

Please proof read your posts for spelling errors / typo errors / grammatical mistakes before submitting them.

Also, please do NOT use acronyms (e.g. ANHC, MS, T-Fort, ANHV, Endy, JC) when referring to cars or their makers.

We advise you to read the Forum Rules before proceeding any further.

Thanks.

Re: My Facelifted Jeep Compass S Diesel Automatic 4x4 (Galaxy Blue)

My sunroof shade is making noise and hits some part of the glass when the vibration in the car increases, for instance when the clutch is pressed and the car is not moving or when you are in the wrong gear. It is minor but annoys me a lil. If I hold the shade with my hands pressed against the roof, it's gone. I hope it's a simple fix.

If anyone experiences this please let me know.

Re: My Facelifted Jeep Compass S Diesel Automatic 4x4 (Galaxy Blue)

I finally took delivery of my car on the 1st of June 2021. Drove it back to Delhi the same day and it was a great driving experience! Drove a total of 300 km and you can easily forget how fast you are going in this monster. It's not as comfortable as the Toyota Corolla Altis in terms of ride comfort, but it comes quite close. The driving dynamics are quite a bit tighter than the corolla though, which I prefer, to be honest.

Was told by the SA that I need to drive it every three days for at least 5 minutes otherwise, the battery would go flat, so keeping that in mind for now. Was also told to shift the gearbox back to neutral when I know that I am going to be standing still for more than 2 minutes in traffic to extend the life of the DDCT gearbox. I do have a question for the people who have owned a DDCT Petrol for a period of time now, do you guys also feel that the gearbox is quite jerky in lower gears or is that something that will smoothen out over time?

P.S. the prices have gone up for all variants by Rs. 20,000/-, so not that big of a deal in my opinion.

Congratulations! now you will also have wide grin when you drive. It is sheer pleasure to drive this car, Noida is in lockdown but I take it for spin every morning. Oh yes I was scared of my apartment lift because of this crazy COVID virus (who knows it is gliding in Air ), but that didn't hamper my morning rides and I used to go down by stairs 17 floors (and of course come back up by stairs ). Such is the attraction/addiction of driving this as you call monster!

I drive diesel AT, but my experience was also that lower gears didn't feel smooth in first few 100kms. May be it is because that i was not used to driving an AT, but now (driven ~850 km now) it sails smooth may be I have learned how to control the throttle to have smooth shift of gears.

Re: My Facelifted Jeep Compass S Diesel Automatic 4x4 (Galaxy Blue)

After almost 6 months post booking, two days back my SA messaged me the 3 words I have been dying to read for so many months - 'Car delivery tomorrow'

I picked up the car yesterday and it was a pleasure to drive back home! The car felt a bit stiff but then it had been a while since I drove on Mumbai roads so I just thought its the new car getting settled and probably the roads got worse during the lockdown! It did not strike me till I reached home and thats when I checked the tyre pressure on the TPMS. It was 40+ on all tyres! I guess they just forgot to bring down the pressure post transport! I have now brought it down now and haven't had a chance to drive it post that but will do so soon.

My experience has been less than pleasing overall. The sales experience left a lot to be desired. You expect a certain level of cushiness in the experience when you are buying a car that costs 30L+. The SA wasn't proactive with anything and in most cases I had to follow up with him. I can give them the benefit that it was a lockdown but the least they could do is make the delivery experience as pleasant as possible within the lockdown limitations but I was very close to losing my cool even during car delivery. The only thing holding me back was the fact that I did not want to spoil my mood for such an exciting moment for my wife and me. Simple things like, the ordered accessories were not ready, the mud flaps were not fixed and lastly as mentioned above the tyre pressure was obviously not checked!

FCA's uncertainty with the delivery was annoying but after a few frustrated emails and tweets, FCA redeemed itself and apologised for the delay and gave me some complimentary accessories worth INR 18,650 and also 1 complimentary Jeep trail. The free stuff definitely made the wait for the car more bearable!

Pro-tip: Watching/reading car reviews on the internet while waiting for the car to be delivered DOES NOT speed up the delivery process. Believe me I have tried!

High tire pressure is a common thing to notice after delivery. Would be interesting to know what all are included in the free accessory kit worth 18K.

As for me, I am still on the fence about going for the Sport Variant (Petrol Manual) ~ lesser frills, lesser things to break, no worries about DEF, better FE OR spend 7L whopping lakhs more and get the Limited variant. It has all the features I WANT. But Sport has all the features I need. I dont see too many people buying the Sport variant here in the forum.

@Pancham You don't need the Jeep Compass, you're thinking of buying it because you WANT IT. So I'd suggest go for the variant you WANT.

Thanks! Even I look forward to getting up early in the morning now to drive the car, even though I am not much of a morning person.

Yeah, will keep an eye on it. Maybe, I will also learn more about the throttle response the more I drive it.

I bought mine from the dealership for Rs. 25000/- which included 3M ceramic coating, 3M anti rust coating, Jeep floor slush mats, mud flaps and a car cover. License plate frames were already on the car. Apart from that I also got a box from the dealership that included a car perfume, a pen, car key cover, a keychain, a small bag and a cap (all Jeep branded). Don’t know if others got the same as well?

Congrats! The Mrs & I had settled for the same colour before we decided to put our purchase on hold! Looking forward to a detailed thread from you. Coming to the issue with the sales experience, this is exactly one of the reasons which also played heavily on our minds with the purchase. FCA need to get their dealer act in shape, especially if they want to charge the amount they are on products like this. It is exactly like you said, it doesn't go hand in hand with the pricing and positioning they expect. I hope your experience is an aberration and not the norm. I see that their suburb dealer (same group) seems to be far more better in terms of customer service and satisfaction (more proactive on social media too) than the town dealer.

Hopefully the plus side of waiting this long should help FCA address the early gremlins with the vehicle and hope you don't experience them..

Enjoy and do share more of this brilliant stunner of a vehicle.
