5 Star - GNCAP Rating - Missing?? Wouldn't worry too much though. After taking delivery of the car, I stumbled upon an old post. It has been well discussed elsewhere also on the thread. The facelift has not been tested by GNCAP. Though it is highly unlikely that TATA would skimp on the feature they and us Indians are most proud of. The Ratings should be re-instated especially since the safety features are standard from the base model. Last edited by Tgo : 19th December 2020 at 13:30. |

Senior - BHPian | Our first TATA | Nexon XZ+(O) | Decision making Decision MakingAug 2019 The car hunting began around August last year. He was at a stage where he was working out what his requirements were. Nevertheless, some new and exciting launches (Harrier, Seltos, Hector) were the ones we had in mind at that time. The Hector was the first to be test driven and it did have the premium look and space on offer. The engines on offer were adequate. The Seltos didn’t seem like an upgrade in terms of space but one densely packed package on all fronts. The price tags reaching close to 20 Lac seemed out of this world for a first car. The harrier was good as a concept car, spacious cabin with nicely appointed interiors and road presence. With reviews hinting towards a version 2.0 which was the end of that. With the leave coming to an end this was for the first round of prospecting.March 2020 1. Used 2017 | Hexa | Diesel | AT | 17,000 kmGuys in the Army move about a lot. Their cars are used very little as they live inside or close to the cantonments. Travel back home on annual leave entails a long journey and hence the car becomes a cumbersome mode of travel in those cases. They do live close to unexplored areas and weekend drives twice or thrice a month is the maximum usage the car is going to see. The smaller segment is not a deal breaker for now since the family is small or is going to have smaller sized members added to it for the next 6-8 years. In addition, his wife can learn driving on a car with a smaller footprint. So there seemed no point in going for a car from the next segment as you pay more for it, including taxes, insurance and fuel cost for the period of ownership. We’ve always had cars with a high ground clearance in the family, so he was not going to compromise on that. Lastly, the CSD pricing of eligible CSUVs was tempting enough for him to buy the car outright and live EMI free rather than part financing a car from a segment above and compromising on important features.2. Senior - BHPian | Our first TATA | Nexon XZ+(O) | Booking and Pre-Delivery Period Booking and Pre-Delivery PeriodThe showroom closest to our house was chosen. The sales representative promptly furnished a list of Tata cars available under CSD. Since it was a CSD sale, and the prices were transparent, we didn’t cross check it with the other dealer in town. We had one issue wherein we thought that the XZ+(S) was the model which suited our needs the best. We didn’t want the connected car features made available in the XZ+(O), however the said model was launched later in 2020 and had not made it to the approved CSD list. Leaving us to either wait for the nest month’s revised list in hopes that it would be included, or go ahead with the (O) variant instead of the (S). This was decided way back in the September. With the model not featuring in the list for October, the booking for a Silver Nexon XZ+(O) Petrol was done on 21st of October at Tata - Akar Fourwheel with a wait time of 4-6 Weeks. We wanted to pick up the car close to the 20th of November as that seemed reasonable while booking. Discussed about the genuine accessories kit they were offering for a bundle cost of INR 15,000/-. We weren’t too interested in the side moldings with chrome on them so asked them for a list of other accessories. The genuine accessories come with a 2 year warranty from TATA. After going through it we conveyed our requirement. Seat Covers - P/N 885752101639 - INR 7,979/-Also asked them to give us the cost for extended warranty as we wanted the maximum coverage of up to 5 years from the day the car would be handed over. The car comes with a standard 2 year 75,000 km warranty. The extended coverage of additional 3 years and upto a total of 1,25,000 km would have us more than covered since the actual running wis never going to be that high. Their breakdown and accident assistance programs are a different game altogether. There was no need to differentiate between the two and provide 6 month packages. I still haven't figured it out. Will go for it after 2 years by which time I expect that they would simplify it.Boot Mat - P/N 885752101548 - INR 1,590/- In the Interim, sat down one day and ordered a long list of Car Care products and accessories for breakdown / emergency situations. Left out the tyre pressure gauge since the car has TPMS and the inflator too has a digital gauge which shows the pressure in the line. Dashcam - DDpai MiniSo with all this done we just had to wait for the car to be dispatched from the plant so that CSD and bank formalities could be carried out. During Diwali, after a wait of 4 weeks, my brother conveyed to the sales rep. that he would also consider a White car if the Silver was not being produced. He needed the car in any case since he had limited leave and had to use the car to travel to the place of new posting in it. On the 24th we received news that they had readied the availability certificate of a white car they had received in stock. Based on this we began the paperwork for payment to CSD. One has to pay in advance to the CSD and they transfer the amount to the dealer. Had to wait for a week due to a long weekend and month end stock taking activities. In the mean time, they were also skeptical that the prices could be revised in the revised list the CSD issues every month. Well, nothing of that sort happened and the payment was credited to the dealer’s account on 7th December and a release order was issued. Surprise... Due to the delay, they received a Silver car in stock as we had originally booked. So It was back to the colour of our choice. Paperwork required for delivery which was completed on 8th December and the same day, the copies of all the documents were sent to the RTO in HP for permanent registration. The Documents needed were: Temporary Registration (RJ) + Payment ReceiptAs for the final cost break-up, it looked like this... DD Amount to CSD ----------------------------------------------------------------- INR____9,23,700/- Last edited by Tgo : 19th December 2020 at 13:33. |

Senior - BHPian | Our first TATA | Nexon XZ+(O) | Photologue Front has matured up a lot in the appearance department. This view makes this small car look like a Hexa. Remember how, the Top Gear trio were surprised when they first saw the Ecosport and got to know that it was a compact SUV for the American market, this somehow manages to do the same. Only when you look at it in isolation. Park it next to another car and you find them to be more realistic. The new headlamps are a nice play on hexagons. The intrusions into the bumper lend the car a butch look. The fogs have the same colour tone as the headlamps which is a mature touch. Better this than the half hearted riced up look with yellow and white beams. All lamps lit up in the same colour tone. The logo takes centre stage on a gloss black grill. Most of the upper grill is for cosmetic purpose. There is however a small slot with a honeycomb mesh below the logo. All those who think Gloss Black, instead of White would have suited the car better?... Say Aye... @(*&@(*&%$#%^* Okay, the motion is passed. That will be the only mod on the car whenever it happens. These bits are snapped onto the door frame and are quite a simple DIY. I still don't like the rear of this car hope I don't have to look too much at it. The from three quarters view is a smart one. This has to be the car which has the wheels spaced out the best in stock form. Haven't measured it but they must be just about 5-8 mm inside the wheel arch. Hope it doesn't turn out to be as much of a mud slinger as the Duster. The flared out front wheel arches accentuate the look of having a wider front track. The other eye-sore for this car from my perspective. On the other hand, the lines and creases seem well controlled and not overdone. The blacked out side rear view mirrors merge well into the window line of the car. They become almost invisible. The slim side indicators are nice integrated. The updated wheel design is better than the last one. The wheels are blacked out apart form the diamond cut face which helps hide the bulk. Blacked out hub covers with the silbver logo helps run the same logo theme on the exterior of the car. The car feels well tired - width, profile and quality wise. Should mention that the concealed washer jets help in cleaning up the bonnet. Never realised this in pictures but their absence from the bonnet does look quite striking in person. The glasshouse has a very mild tint. The blackened A and C pillars are new on the facelift. A floating effect for the roof looks better IMHO. The play with the rubber beadings of the door frame help give the floating roof a sculpted look. It also looks like an oddly executed wrap job from certain angles. The feature that ranks highest in novelty in our environment. Unfortunately, it is bundled in the top spec variant and you cannot give it a miss. Lets talk ergonomics first as they should rank first in the criteria for a car which is going to see long drives. Does it have space? Well, the most important thing for a travelling fauji, is his trunk. Its specifications are sent to a GC when he joins the academy and it travels with him throughout his tenure. So that can fit easily. All the car care products and accessories fit in snugly around the spare wheel. Out of sight but present when you need them. Helpful when you don't have a dedicated garage. Nexon EV - For drawing us towards the Nexon platform and into a Tata Showroom. Tata Design team - For designing and developing a global product in-house, using an ancient X1 platform. I know, the assembly lines were being tweaked, for this C-SUV as far back as 2012. Youtube Channel: AutoTrendTV - For their most comprehensive reviews covering all the updates and features in detail. These actually helped me understand how the Facelift was a comprehensive one with additional features and that's when it came to the top of the shortlist. Akar Fourwheel - For handling our booking, understanding our requirement for a timely delivery and being transparent with all the charges. Kartik and my brother - For the back breaking photo session in the afternoon. Giving me what I and when I wanted it. Putting up a review remotely for the first time. BHPians - Reinhard, Shrey_1520 and Vinod_nair for promptly replying to my queries on the official review thread. Reinhard again for his thread DIY-ing the mods on his Nexon. janakiraman_m for his Tiago review and snan for his Nexon facelift review, which caught my eye and made me pay more attention to Tata's offering in this segment. | Re: Our First Tata | Nexon XZ+(O) | BS6 Petrol MT TGO, first of all a big THANK YOU! to your brother for keeping our country safe and our borders protected. I really like the kind of cars you've picked up. Tough and utilitarian! You don't seem to care about features, you're the kind to make use of a vehicle like it should be used. The Nexon is a great pick for someone who will cover lakhs of kilometres in the most challenging terrains. Hope Tata keeps your brother happy and never lets him down. All the best! |

Distinguished - BHPian | Re: Our First Tata | Nexon XZ+(O) | BS6 Petrol MT Congratulations on the Nexon - TGO & family. Wishing you & all unlimited safe & happy miles ahead with the versatile little car. A solid strong car for a solid strong soldier of the nation! The opening picture is just so smart! And what a thread! This I'd say is one of the best Nexon ownership threads on the forum - if not the best (well it is & so have rated it 5 stars already). The detailing, picture quality & attention to small things are going to be extremely useful as references to visitors who read your thread. Certainly will help in decision making for others. For a car selling in quite good numbers - the Nexon 2020's ownership threads were very few on the forum & you've really set the bar very high on quality. What a pleasant surprise to find my name mentioned along with fellow BHPians to have been of help. Glad I was of any valuable help through my threads. Keep the thread updated whenever possible mate. Stay safe, cheers & happy holidays. Here's to a better 2021! Last edited by Reinhard : 21st December 2020 at 10:28. |

| Re: Our First Tata | Nexon XZ+(O) | BS6 Petrol MT Arguably one of the best and detailed thread on Nexon. Especially the visual comparison with pre-facelifted Nexon. One query - Why wasn't the Duster Turbo Petrol chosen? You could have got three times lucky! You have such extensive understanding on Duster and Renault after sales service which makes adding another 1.5 Lakhs to go for the Duster Turbo justifiable. Duster is a segment higher than Nexon however it makes more sense. To top it off, it goes well with your Army guy Cousin's personality and stature Congratulations and enjoy the Nexon |
