Thanks GTO for putting this on Team BHP homepage... Feels good to be recognized, even though people at my home still ask - What are you up-to now a days ?

Re: American beauty from Italian parents | My Grey Arrow | Jeep Compass 1.4 Multiair DCT Review

Beautifully written. And the grey arrow is even more beautiful. I am petrol swift owner and I can completely understand that racer car feeling. And I am eyeing Jeep Compass from long time. So I guess I am in a similar boat. Having said that did you test drive the 2.0 l diesel engine?
How was difference in your personal opinion?

Re: American beauty from Italian parents | My Grey Arrow | Jeep Compass 1.4 Multiair DCT Review

Hi Roadster,

Loved the review and story ! I have a 2020 Longitude plus Petrol AT and in the 500+ kms run so far, easily getting 13+ mileage on highways (South India outwards Bangalore). Just curious, if you drive with heavy foot sometime ( I know it's difficult to resist the temptation )? Other possibility is that 2020 petrol version being a BS6 might have the engine tuning leading to better mileage.

I would love to follow this thread . Cheers !

A very well written and balanced review showcasing the beauty of the beast as well its few shortcomings.

Your pictures are wow, especially the one showing headlights as eyes. A truely understated beauty. I think this car is going to age like Marlyn Monroe . It still commands second look even after 3 years of its launch. Wishing you miles and miles of pleasant motoring.

Re: American beauty from Italian parents | My Grey Arrow | Jeep Compass 1.4 Multiair DCT Review

Congrats on the Compass. It would be my default choice of SUV as well.
Does it have a service interval of 1 year? Jeep India's website mentions the service interval to be 6 months/7500 km for petrol models and 6 months/5000 km for diesel models.

Absolute beauty car and wityful review

Had test driven the Jeep compass in jan 2019 and really liked the car but did not find it worth spending 25 lacs and instead got a ford Endeavour 3.2. I understand your itch of upgrading the segment coldsweat

Congratulations. The whole chronicle made for interesting reading. I have a query regarding your Mopar mats. They look fantastic. Can we have them fitted to other cars (Non-Jeep)? And how much do they cost, please?

Very well written review, car looks pretty fresh & energizing in this color though I'm a red lover. BTW, did you know about the facelift news of compass when finalizing this car?

Re: American beauty from Italian parents | My Grey Arrow | Jeep Compass 1.4 Multiair DCT Review

Excellent review and this is my favourite colour on Compass as well. Congratulations on your beauty and beast ride. One question though. How do you plan to keep the interior clean considering Jeep use almost white interior. Maintaining that interior is going to be a pain in the long run isn't it.

Re: American beauty from Italian parents | My Grey Arrow | Jeep Compass 1.4 Multiair DCT Review

Such a well thought and well written review. You covered all aspects from a owner's perspective. In my heart, I was always inclined towards Jeep Petrol AT but somewhere the head was saying Seltos DCT for the excellent value that it offers. But your review has reinforced my belief in the Jeep again.

Thank you. Wishing you many miles of happy driving.

Re: American beauty from Italian parents | My Grey Arrow | Jeep Compass 1.4 Multiair DCT Review

That was a great review and amazing pics. Have the same petrol automatic in white i.e. a 2017 Limited one. Love the Limited plus alloys, always had a mind to see if I can ever purchase that and replace the ones I have but was not sure if the ride comfort can be affected but it looks outright gorgeous.

And you have echoed almost every single point I had thought of the jeep, right down to that flimsy IRVM plastic housing! The acceleration does take time and with the traffic conditions here in Kochi, it can get pretty frustrating and since I hardly take her in the highway, I don't get to experience that push. Comparing that to the 2.4 NA engine in the CR-V that only required slight tap of my toe to be super responsive. But I recall once there was this stupid guy in a Creta trying to overtake me in a rash manner...all I recall was stamping my feet on the accelerator pedal to metal style and as you said...few seconds of calm and then all hell broke loose! Really freaked me out more than excitement cause I never experienced such rush. Again, all this I felt as I came from a different car/engine experience with the CR-V which was much more linear in power delivery.

Btw did you take the extended warranty? My ABS sensors had failed on 2 different occasions (each time a different set) and they replaced it under warranty (the standard warranty just got over!). With the DCT gearbox, I don't really know how reliable they are.

Car is way solid compared to anything I had owned. My only grouse is the seating isn't as accommodating like the CR-V. Other than that, it's amazing. And the service cost also seem reasonable considering it's price. The headlamps are horrible though, both low and high beam.

Re: American beauty from Italian parents | My Grey Arrow | Jeep Compass 1.4 Multiair DCT Review

Congratulations Roadster17, this is an excellent & well-balanced ownership review that I have across in a long time! Well done, wish you many more blissful miles with your Jeep. I have been eyeing the jeep for sometime now, although my current Rapid seems good for a couple of more years at least. The compass seems to tick all the right boxes for us enthusiasts albeit the pricing! Hopefully the facelift does not push it further.

I have an inclination towards the Diesel engines, having owned the Punto with its 1.3 MJD & now the Rapid TDI with its 1.6 engines. The torque of a Diesel engine is probably something I’m gonna miss at some point in time considering there aren’t going to enough of them soon with regulations kicking in & electric cars becoming mainstream in the next decade. Keen to know what made you go for the petrol engine, although you did have a Rapid 1.5 TDI earlier. Did you get a chance to test ride the 2.0 MJD on the Jeep, What’s your view?

Re: American beauty from Italian parents | My Grey Arrow | Jeep Compass 1.4 Multiair DCT Review

Lovely write up of an equally good machine. Guess this is the first ownership review of petrol DCT JC? Thanks for sharing your experience. Please keep the thread updated

P.S: Am surprised to know about the lack of cruise control on a 22L car. Its a pretty usable feature on highways( more so on automatics). Absolutely not done Jeep/Fiat :thumbs-down

Absolutely Yes. "Sahi Pakde hain".. The temptation always overpowers my urge to go slow on pedal. The best I have done was on a clear highway for 50 odd km where I think I managed somewhere near 15. Overall, is not a problem for me as I bought the car even after reading and watching several reviews which suggested it to give 6-7kmpl. I think 9-10 kmpl is all that I expect out of it, with my style of driving. Anything over and I take it as a bonus.

The service interval is 15000 km or 1 year whichever is earlier. The 6 monthly service happens only once in 1st year and is only a checkup, not even a service. After that it is always 15000 or 1 year.

Sir, it was your ownership thread that acted as an inspiration to me. Really love to follow your thread.

MOPAR mats are only custom made for MOPAR cars ( FCA vehicles). It cannot be fitted in other vehicles. Yes the fit , finish and solidity of the mats are too good. They look good as well. I paid 12000 for all the mats ( including cargo mats).

No sir, I bought it in 2019 when there was no facelift round the corner. But, I really liked the way they have handled the new facelift. Looks really tempting, especially the interiors.

That was my apprehension also. But, it has been very easy to maintain. I just use a damp cloth to wipe the interior if needed. Else, have thought of getting interior polished and cleaned professionally once a year. As of now, there is absolutely no sign of dirt accumulation or ageing on the white leather seats.

Thanks for your comments. Yes, I did purchased 2 years additional warranty over the 3 years given by company.

Sorry, but I never owned any Diesel ever. Always have been a petrolhead. However, 1 thing is certain, after 1.5 TDI, 1.4 Multijet will not cut the clatter. 2.0 MJD will be a logical upgrade. You will enjoy the thrust and the punch from the diesel Compass.

Thanks Man! Yes, this is the first JC Petrol ownership thread on team bhp. Cruise control was added in 2020, so it is there now. It was absent when I bought it in 2019.
