Thanks for the good words Sreesh.
I am certain that 95% of the times, I am going to use this as a 5 seater only. My family comprises of 3 adults and 1 7 years old. The most baggage we are going to have is what say the airlines allow us to check-in for the folks mentioned which are roughly 60-70 kgs. While I haven't done this run yet, I am confident this will not pose many problems or affect the performance adversely. But, yes, if there are 7 passengers and suitable baggage, it might affect certain dynamics like the pick-up, thrust, FE, etc. In my opinion, it shouldn't be drastic.

Thanks, Eshan. My first pick was a colour called 'Pyrite Silver' but it was not available with the dealer. Silver being light coloured in nature and with Black alloys would also accentuate the car design well, I think.

Thanks, will check this out.

Yes, I have already seen that thread, thanks. I also checked out the rear AC vent caps but AliExpress/ Alibaba was not taking orders from India and I believe now the apps are even banned in India. I will seek alternate options to source those accessories.

I usually change my first set of tyres since when they are anywhere between 30-36 months old. My car's tyres seem to be from Week 35 of 2019. So, I was casually looking for similarly sized in the Hyderabad market. I found a Bridgestone (not sure on the particular variant) for around 15k apiece. I did not delve deeper into the manufacturing month of the tyres as I was not serious at that time. I am apprehensive as you mentioned we might all end up with only one option if this tyre import stalemate continues.

Thanks for the good words, Guna. As fluidicjoy answered the other questions I am skipping those. This car does not come with ACC. I am yet to find out if it has the equipment and merely disabled or if they stripped down the radar as-well. The logo upfront is the one that accommodates the Radar, if you notice.
Here is the pic for the Paddle shifter. Apologies I could not capture it from the right angle/ clearly and hence it's not part of the review. It is the right size and well-articulated for our fingers to be able to operate it comfortably.

No Sir, this car does not have the ACC, I am afraid. I am following your thread with utmost interest to see if this can be done.

The car has:
1. Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB)
2. Front Assist - Advance Warning/ Urgent warning/ Automatic braking/ Braking intervention/ City emergency braking/ Distance warning
3. Lane Assist - Ability to hold the car within well-demarcated lanes when on speeds > 65 kmph
4. Regular Cruise Control
5. Speed Limiter
The same car in Europe has these additional features which are not in the Indian version:
1. ACC
2. Traffic Jam Assist
3. Blind spot monitor
4. Semi-automatic vehicle control in a Medical emergency
5. Lane change/ Side assist
6. Pedestrian monitoring/ crossing alerts
And I think the primary reason for these features to have been disabled is because it is illegal to use the Lidar based Radar in India at the moment. The car has a camera inbuilt into the windscreen which assists with lane assist and front assist but by itself, it is not sufficient to correctly/ accurately assist with much deeper functions as the above. Here's the camera integrated to the front windscreen:

My X1 was from 2012, it was a CBU too, with Rear-wheel drive and Hydraulic steering. I would say the part quality say of the interiors or the exteriors are on par with the car I had. Driving pleasure, a rear-wheel-drive X1, any day, eyes closed. Also, X1 has a much better-tuned steering wheel. And the front:rear weight ratio was very close to the most ideal 50:50 ratio on that car.
But, you should note that today the X1 has an FWD with a Servotronic EPS and isn't much fun as earlier. I too was contemplating a Petrol X1 (on paper) but the extra boot (700 litres) was important for me. I am not going to use the 3rd row of seats at all. The FE on X1 is always going to be better, even in the petrol one. You should TD both the cars, at least twice each and decide.

Thanks for the good words.
So, the first few Allspaces imported to the country during the Auto Expo times had the body-coloured cladding and bumpers. But, that's limited to those first few cars. Their India site
https://www.volkswagen.co.in/en/mode...-allspace.html also showcases the one with the body-coloured cladding in the first image but if you see any of the videos or the official colour options picker at the bottom, all colours are similar with the black cladding. I have seen at least five colour options live in Hyderabad and all are the same whether Habanero Orange, Ruby Red, Black Pearl, Pure White, Planitum Grey. And hence the quest to get that part painted in white like that in Europe.

One thing i noted is that you specified that your vehicle is manufactured in Mexico. But when i decoded the VIN of my Tiguan AS, it showed that vehicle is manufactured in Germany as the starting digit of the VIN is "W". Kind of strange that VW is sourcing the vehicle from different countries. |
Thanks for the good words, Dhruv.
The starting digit of my car's VIN is also W, but here is what I found about the VINs. I am 100% positive that my car was manufactured at Puebla Plant in Mexico. When I had done the pre-PDI check, the car was at the dealer stockyard and there was this big sticker pasted to the windscreen probably for customs which read Made in Puebla.
