I have mostly used Shell Normal. I have also filled from Essar and Reliance, especially when out of town. Some of other T-Roc owners are using XP95 from Indian Oil and they did find better performance of engine. I have used it recently, but I am yet to find any difference in engine behavior. I will switch back and forth for sometime to see if I can find any.

And T-Roc fuel pumps have been robust,so far, touch wood

I had contacted the service centre to add Driver Fatigue Alert on my 2020 T-Roc. So far they have not been able to figure out. Forget about getting anything additional done from them. You are better off with OBD11. But refrain for sometime to avoid any warranty issues.

Yes. My T-Roc has the clock reset issue. Along with the clock, all driving data is also reset. This has happened 4 times in my car already. There is a TPI for this which mentions that there is no fix yet. See the attached PDF document. I am not sure if there has been any update to this TPI.

Re: Volkswagen T-Roc : Ownership Review

completed my run in of 2021 T-roc delivered in OCT, here are my observations. (the run in was 60 % city and 40% Highway)

- Achieved average of 14.2 KMPL on regular petrol (calculated via tank method).
- ACT engages above 100 Kmph as well.
- coming from a diesel miss the torque but the overall acceleration is good
- Start stop feature is eager to kick in, engages even before you have come to a complete stop (unlike my 320D which engages only after the vehicle has come to complete stop)

- the ride is pliant and has almost no to minimal body roll
- the music system is a hoot and works flawlessly with Apple car play

By first service you mean the 1000km one - correct?
If what you are saying is true, mine was a hogwash.

The guy is still checking. They are completely clueless!

In mumbai, my city mileage is more like 9-10 kmpl and the highway mileage is a 12-14 kmpl. My highway mileage is lower due to hard acceleration.

for me ACT was getting activated only when going down a mild slope or when accelerator pedal was not pressed for gradual breaking.
in the city, it gets activated if I am cruising at a constant speed of 40 or 60 kmph - that didnt happen after 80 kmph.

Was it any different for you?

True, even I noticed this off late. Any idea how to fix it!

-Jaipur has much lesser traffic as compared to Mumbai.

- haven’t accelerated hard due to the run in period and this being a turbo petrol mileage will be affected by the acceleration.

- for me ACT gets activated when you are maintaining a sustained speed and it does continue to be active if you are decelerating as well.

-I keep it off in city drives and around heavy traffic, you can turn it on at red lights and it shuts down the engine immediately unlike other cars.

Re: Volkswagen T-Roc : Ownership Review

Hello fellow BHPians,

I am looking for help and advice on the following issue.

I booked a T-Roc on 26/10/21 from VW Gurgaon, Sohna Road. Sales advisor was extremely confident and assured me of delivery in December 2021. But my middle class Indian genes were happier to get it on January 1st, 2022 and that's what he mentioned on the booking form.

On, 09/11/21 - I heard the news on the bookings for T-Roc getting closed. I immediately picked up the phone and got on a call with the sales advisor to check if my booking was secure. He was sounding hesitant to commit anything but assured me '100% gaadi milegi, tension mat lo'. I asked him if I should write an email to Volkswagen or, if he needs any partial payment for the car to expedite the procedure. He requested me not to write any mails and didn't want any further payment either.

Cut to today, 23/11/21 - The sales advisor isn't particularly responsive. What could be my options here?

The T-Roc is supplied to the dealer on allotment basis, if he has one allotted to him by the company he will commit the delivery or he is keeping your booking as an advance in case he gets an allotment from the company which could be a long wait for you.

Try visiting the showroom and talking to the sales manager you will get the clarity.

PS- I guess the car is stocked out as of now in India

Thank you for your response! So now that the bookings are closed and he has one booking pending - Wouldn't he know if he's getting allotment or, not? It's bizarre and unethical for them to accept bookings and casually say no after a month and cut an x amount on the booking fee.

After this post, I got a call from the showroom - The SA requested me to shift my booking to the upcoming Tiguan, which frankly speaking is out of my budget. He called me to meet today. I am visiting the showroom in the evening, will update once I get a response.

make sure they don't charge any cancellation fee from you as they are the ones who are backing out.

Re: Volkswagen T-Roc : Ownership Review

Can someone help me out of the dilemma of CBU TROC vs Taigun GT+. I test drive both and obviously TROC feels premium, and have more boot space compared to Taigun. Only sore point is long term reliability and maintenance. Taigun obviously will have lesser maintenance .I am ok for the upfront higher cost for TROC and also OK with 25 to 35% higher maintenance cost, but have a fear what if I have to encounter BIG maintenance expense few years down the line. Obviously with TROC I have already given up on good resale value .But future expenses gives me worry and put a second thought of going with Taigun gt+. Can the existing owners help , how they perceive the car and their anticipation on how the car will age.

Read the below article on carandbike. Is Tricky also going to be discontinued like allspace?
