re: My 2020 BMW 330i Sport (G20) Review. EDIT: 2 years & 27,000 km up

After a spirited run to the new JW Marriott at Golfshire. This was at 35 psi when cold. Is 39/40 acceptable? Made the 3 a bit bouncy too when hot.

On an aside, a glorious day with lovely views!

re: My 2020 BMW 330i Sport (G20) Review. EDIT: 2 years & 27,000 km up

Copious brake dust after every wash - one of the drawbacks of pads nearing end-of-life.

Staining my garage tiles pretty effectively. Constrained by a hosepipe ban, I'm thinking of getting the floor professionally cleaned at a later date.

Is this a locality byelaw or something?

A pressure washer might seem to be worse but it actually is 80% air 20% water,
Saves water while being almost 10 times more effective.

You'd be done with cleaning the floor in a few minutes.
And have negligible water running off.

Local gated community one. .

And tell me about the pressure washer thing. I'm unable to use my Karcher K4 only because of the prevailing misconception. Will try and reason again, but you know the set mindset of these RWAs.

Bangalore having water scarcity?

You can use the Karcher through a bucket. You would need just 2-3 buckets to wash your car. I do the same.

I do not wash my car daily. Just Car Duster and Quick Detail using any quick detailer.

So any Society person gives me advice on saving water, I tell them; I use nothing compared to what you all do using a building car wash guy wasting bucket loads of water everyday.

Try it.

......

Try it.
I do the same,
No enforced rule as yet but they usually frown upon using the hose pipe.

I do not have a water supply in my basement parking so I have to use buckets. I have a 20L water bubble that I dip into the tank and fill, then insert the feed pipe of the pressure washer.

About the brake dust, is this with or without using a rim/tyre cleaner?

Congratulations on the new shoes buddy. Difference is day and night right vs the older RFTs
Any specific reason why you didn't go for Michelin Pilot Sport 4S.

Does it become too sporty and affects the ride quality?

Would love to know if you actually considered those tyres?

YokoAdvan's are they any good ?

Hi, thank you and yes, difference is remarkable!

By the way, mine is the Sport variant on 225/50/17 square. Unfortunately, PS4S in India is available officially from 18++.

Extensively researched the Yoko Advan Sport V105 & found it to be very very good, but the relative lack of user reviews put me off. Not much delta with the PS4 either.

Hence QED.

One known bug in the G20 is the glitchy software controlling the sunroof shade. At least in my MY19 Sport, it starts 'bouncing off' and refusing to close.

Luckily there is a simple fix involving holding down the sunroof button for 15 seconds which makes it reset itself. Works every time.

I echo your sentiments as even I switched from 18" runflats (255/35/R18) to 20" PS4s's (255/30/R20) on my 3 series recently, and I was very apprehensive about the ride quality. Surprisingly, the 20's with tubeless provide a far more comfortable ride than the 18's with RFT. The grip is just phenomenal and the road noise also seems marginally better. I have preserved the 18's as a functional spare set in case i need to switch back at any point.

Hey, nice to hear this! Post some pictures of your setup? Are they on BMW or aftermarket ones?

I was very keen on bronze coloured wheels as they contrast the paint on the car quite well. BMW did not have any wheels in that colour, so I had to go aftermarket. I loved this particular design and colour, and since it was only available as 20's or bigger, i went with 20s.

Looks stunning! Great choice. In fact, it fills up the wheel arches so well, it almost looks lowered. Unless it is also lowered? :-)

Was it a direct fit or needed any hub rings etc.? And why not the BMW center caps?

Thank you. No suspension changes done, not lowered, no spacers used, just direct fitment. An interesting fact is that the overall diameter of the wheel + tyre for the 20s is the same as it was with the 18s. I am attaching another picture of the wheel, in that you can see that centre caps on these wheels are a little different, it's a bigger piece that is actually screwed on after tightening the nuts. So I am going to see if I can figure out a way to install the BMW Center caps on these, If I can, then I might order the 50 years of M ones.

Since the car in the picture is an M340i, it is around 15mm lowered (by default)as compared to the regular G20.
