Re: My pre-worshipped Honda Civic Automatic – A dream comes true

Congrats on the new buy.
I recall when this beauty was launched back in mid-2000s, the futuristic looking speedo was what caught the attention, ofcourse among other things.
And so, your folks, it must be said, have really got that fine sense of admiration for this time immemorial kind of a feature!

Wishing you many happy years of ownership.

Wishing you many happy years and miles of ownership. The car may get less convenient for the elders with time, but you can always get them another more suitable car. This one can be with you for a long time. After all, it's a Honda. A Civic.
Thank you Condor. The dealer definitely stood out among the numerous dealers out there just like my civic did amidst other used civic examples.

Definitely, I'll look for a +1 car when civic gets a bit cumbersome for the elders at home. However, I would like to keep her for a very long time.

Check out the Roger suspension buffers on Amazon
They should help with the low GC and consequently ingress and egress.
Thank you Iyencar... I'll definitely take a look at the suggestion of the suspension buffers. I'll PM you with the price.

Even after so many years, the design is such a head turner. I walk a lot, so everytime I look at a well maintained Civic, I can't resist looking back.
I would love to own a pre-worshipped Civic, unfortunately my family does not agree with my thought process. Hope to see a lot more of this beautiful car through your updates.
Thank you very much. If you have the money go in for one. The 1.8 NA is an absolute beauty and the car is extremely reliable. The upkeep shouldn't cost you much as well.

Thanks man!... The dealership person definitely gave a buying experience to cherish for a long long time. The first owner indeed is a great man with a great taste and love for what he rides!

Thank you very much. I miss a touch screen too and was eyeing various available options. I'll definitely consider this when making the swap. I'll share the price in PM.

Not too many references of the same config around.
Go up to 6 lacs and move fast. These beauties do not stay for long. But please follow all the steps mentioned in the pre - used buying guide mentioned in the post. Don't mind paying a couple of ten thousands more if you are sure the money is going to the previous owner, just as an appreciation for good maintenance, if the car is well maintained. I am sure to have paid close to 40K more than the market value but, I was sure on the dealer commission and how much was going to the previous owner.

The world needs people like us to appreciate the timeless beauty and the world definitely needs more Civics! Yours look great too!

Great to know Sir. Civic is a timeless beauty. In addition to the engine, In my opinion, the new civic doesn't feel to be a substantial upgrade to the old Civic. You need a better car to fill in the shoes of your Civic. I would love to know what you will eventually replace the beauty with.

Thank you very much Rajeevraj. The car indeed is wonderful and now is the time the beauties of '12 and '13 are getting into the used market. Keep the look out on and I wish with all my heart for you to find a great example.

The Cruze is a great car. I missed buying Bhpian Kini's Cruze by a few months when he sold her. I had just bought the Punto and didn't have the money to take the plunge back in 2015. I have driven it for miles and the Turbo whoosh is very addictive. I always felt the "Got BHP?" sticker suits Cruze the best this side of 20 lacs.

I too was tempted, and finally bought a Civic in October 2017 from a close family friend. There are a lot of things to love, the smooth engine, and great seats, the looks (!). Sadly for me, I never got comfortable with the car. I like feeling planted at high speed and coming from a line of Germans/Europeans, the lightness of the body and the (comparatively) fluttery ride was something I couldn't live with.
Now, every time I see a clean Civic (like yours!), I feel very silly for not being able to enjoy it.
Wish you many happy miles!
Thank you. Very true and I wouldn't have gone in for the purchase if not for such detailed record.
I had similar issues with the Jazz and though it being a wonderful car, I couldn't live with it.

I completely get you, brother. The way she picks up speed after 100kmph, the way she redlines is so very sublime and effortless. Except for the poor low end, the Civic never fails to plaster a smile on my faceShe is just so very Satisfying!

Congrats on a great car. It really seems to be in great condition. I too have a 2012 one albeit a manual and driven it from Kolkata to Bangalore to Delhi. A pleasure to drive. Attaching a pic of my White Walker

Re: My pre-worshipped Honda Civic Automatic – A dream comes true

Congratulations for the Civic. It's a brilliant car. I thought of selling my civic but couldn't gauge that which car will be able to fill that void. Killer looks, Honda reliability, good FE, and that sweet smooth revving iVTEC engine. Decided to keep it!

Nice to see such clean example picked up by you. It's a very reliable and trouble free car overall. And enough muscle under the hood to keep drivers grinning.

Regards.

Congrats on the buy, @NTO!

A car that I like a lot and one that has lots of mod options. Especially famous with those who like the "bling" factor.

Am sure it will serve you well for a very long time, with just regular up keeps done.

Congratulations on the purchase NTO!

That drool-worthy digital speedometer still catches my eye whenever this car pulls up beside me.
I am also on the lookout for a used 2012/2013 Civic (preferably AT) for myself.

Could you share what this particular specimen cost you, which would help in my car evaluation as well

Re: My pre-worshipped Honda Civic Automatic – A dream comes true

Hi guys,

Lots of nostalgia and emotions for the civic. Being an old owner, this has re-ignited my love for the civic. I remember how seeing the car in the garage while going home would always bring a smile to my face.

I had bought a 2014 Dec City CVT, which I could never learn to live with after owning a Civic, Swift and a Palio! I am about to close the deal on the car sale. Would be great if I could get a good condition civic (2011 or above please). I need a car which I will sparingly use. And Civic just fits the bill, except one scenario (Mumbai Rains with water logging).

While I start search, would be great if anyone can share any potential leads with me in Mumbai.

Thank you Josh machine. Everything in the car wows me. I am sure the speedo steals one among the top rank.

Thank you very much. The car definitely feels brand new inside out. The engine is creamy. The seats are supremely comfortable and it is one looker and you will turn back and look after you park the car. I just wish I was the right age and had the money to buy this beauty when it was new. Still, it is not too late. I am falling deeper in love with her with every additional kilometer I add on to the odo. And, yes I have subscribed to the thread and I will keep my fair share of contributions coming.

Thank you Also cumulus. It is indeed in a great condition. I am sure those road trips would've been a lot of fun especially with the manual, revving the iVTEC on the expressways. Your white walker looks fab. I too wanted a white one but, in the used market, car is more important than the color. No regrets whatsoever.

Thank you techcoze. it is indeed a mesmerizing beauty inside out and it is like the first humanly love which people can never forget in their lives no matter how hard they try!

Thank you Saket77. You definitely made a great decision by retaining the beauty. It would definitely have been hard and very expensive to fill that void.
I am sure the car is extremely reliable, the Vtec is smooth as butter and my car returned 16.93 kmpl on a recent 1200 kms road trip. I will post a travelogue shortly on this.

Thank you. I miss my WagonR as well. However, Vento filled the void very well and it bettered WagonR on every aspect, including the after sales service experience and made sure I never think of the WagonR again. Let us hunt for the Jazz replacement together.

Hey 2000 rpm, I will also be on a lookout for you if you don't mind picking up one from Chennai. Also do let me know if you find any good examples in Chennai. I can personally go and check it out for you. Love for Civic unites us.
No matter how smooth the gearbox is, CVT is definitely not for the enthusiasts. It is good for just taking X from point A to point B in comfort and nothing more. I also find that Civic is returning better FE than what my Jazz CVT used to return. And so much for the new Hondas with their quality compromise in the name of cost cutting...

Re: My pre-worshipped Honda Civic Automatic – A dream comes true

Congrats on the new Civic NTO. I am doing some preliminary research on a pre-owned Civic. One of the points that I recall is some issue with the AT box of the Civic from a few threads. Was there anything in particular you checked for the AT BOX with regards to its condition etc ?

Also, I couldn't find the price you paid for this beauty - do you mind sharing it. Will help other members like me when we look out for cars.

thanks

@ NTO - first of all, Congratulations on your Civic AT. I too bought a 2007 model couple of years back and this car is special somehow.

@ narayan - from various threads in the web, i think maintenance of the Auto Transmission fluid and timely periodic changes are required for this one, else it may give you problems. So, when you look at a used Civic AT, if it performs well at that given time, smooth shifts, no jerks, adequate power, all the indicator lights on the dash like P, N, D, S lights up correctly as per your gear, then i think you are good to go. Then just do replace the ATF for your satisfaction and enjoy. I just did that and it is going perfect.
