Did a Palakkad- Chinnar- Munnar-Aluva- Thrissur-Palakkad. A solo drive! Pure bliss in rains!

Update: 144,xxx km

My Bilstein B6 busted! Front driver side! I had a few close shaves with some nasty potholes in heavy Kerala rains in the last two days. Never had heard of B6s giving up after 4 years of usage. It would have covered 70-75k km.

Bilstein B4 were available and got them installed in front, with the rear being the B6s. Drove back to Palakkad from Kochi. The handling at high speeds is still immaculate and precise but the B6 magic will be missed. The B6 harshness is gone now and the B4s offer a butter smooth ride even on 18 inchers (and 45 profile) with no compromise on handling and cornering stability.

Note: I did call up Pete's in Kochi (where B6 were purchased) to see if there is a way the B6s could be reconditioned at my cost with no success. They offer a 1-year replacement warranty; that's it.

Your car grabs a lot of attention. New alloy wheels look killer! Best choice to have gotten on 18 inches now compared to previous Lenso wheels.

Update:
Did another long drive yesterday. Around 1100km in about 18 hours. Palakkad-Salem-Namakkal-Trichy- Thanjavur- Velankanni and back via Dindigul and Pollachi.
There is a new 4-lane stretch from Dindigul towards CBE/Pollachi- the best stretch i have done recently. Smooth suface, well lit, great grip, fenced on the sides. Absolutely beautiful. The steering had zero judder and the vehicle rock solid at speeds that I can't post here.

On a different note, these A2Bs are a boon in this part of the country. Had breakfast in one just before Salem and lunch just after Trichy.

A much needed wash after covering around 2000km in 2-3 days!

BTW, my Green getting a wash a day before I flew out for a few months. I give at least 24 hours after a wet wash if planned to park the car for few days. This is to ensure that the car is dry inside. The regular 3M rodent treatment got given to the engine bay and wheel-wells too.

Two months since I left India and my Yeti! Today, my driver friend spent a few hours to give the Green a thorough cleaning inside out!
