I am used to 123K on Civic .

The same clutch now after 1L Kms as absolutely healthy.
I am having this clutch problem on my Brezza as Laluks sir briefed. It gives a weird vibration when engaged in 1st gear in slow moving traffic. My car has completed 37k kms and is now mostly used to back to back city traffic and occasional highway drives. I was told by Audioholic it’s mostly due to clutch warping but the pick up & economy hasn’t dropped and seems fine. Not sure if I should ask the service center to inspect because they’d only recommend on getting clutch set replaced which I don’t think should be the case for a car of this mileage?

I am mercifully free of failed-clutch experience! But, when a clutch fails, in the usual sense, doesn't it slip, and ultimately fail to transfer rotation from one plate to the other? Rather than vibrate?

I took him for an airport run, revved the nuts off him, clutch seems to be holding up quite well, with wheel spins as required on heavy launch. Probably he wasn't used much, and some ghost got into him in short runs. I'll keep a watch if the juddering returns.

Like trying to move the car against the brake, I think there is equivalent test for clutch. It is something like engaging clutch in first gear with brakes hard on. Engine should simply stall. If it doesn't, clutch must be bad.

Not suggesting anyone follow my vague memory, but hope somebody posts actual reliable procedure!

Nope, too early to give up considering 85% long drives. I have a similar usage patterns as yours and I am still on stock clutch at 1,31,000 KMs.

Yup, seems too early. I am at 75k with 80% city driving and the OEM clutch is fine.

I can only wonder in the event of a rear ending what could be the scenario, seriously disappointed!!
Was this fixed? What was the issue and resolution?

Fixed? No!!
Issue - It's a Maruti, and lack of consistent quality checks and obviously them being not able to understand that it is indeed an issue.
Resolution -I pray no one rear ends me and drive carefully. Even if it is attended to, since the sheet thickness is already known for Maruti, I wouldn't bother much
In principal you need to gas weld that area and apply the coating again. Doing that in any MASS is as good as leaving it as it is. Not even worth the hassle and time, you will get more annoyed. I will tend to it after a while at one of my friends body shop.
Regarding alloys changing color, why bother!! Learn to live with Maruti quality on their premium most offering .

No more MARUTI for us !! But I will keep this fellow, it won't fall apart with my care, after all its my Kungfu Panda (Jr.).

Now I try cross pollinating Toyota with SCross stuff, and adding some funny blings to the SCross as DIY experiments. Do read if you like. Cross Pollination can be read here (DIY: Toyota Fortuner Type 2 - Auto Dimming IRVM & Auto Folding ORVM), and bling DIY here (DIY: Auto Folding ORVMs (Maruti S-Cross))

re: S-Cross'd : My 2017 Maruti S-Cross 1.3L Facelift. EDIT: Sold!

Since the virus scare had not been driving much, and when I had a chance to do so just jumped into the temptation. CM had taken the Hyatt Place in Rameswaram and hence me and wifey chose to drive out there for a weekend. We had all the time in hand since we had been there before. This was just for the drive.

As usual we started out early by 3AM

We were chatting about our kids, how we are back to ourselves, they flying away from the nest, etc..etc.. Infact this trip without the kids were a first in the last two decades of our marriage

After 2.5 hours and 160KMs of driving I find this on the MID!! 28Kmpl

Size: 60.6 KB

This got me amused, and started taking some picture as it panned out.

After 5 hrs and 400Kms, MID shows 25Kmpl !

When we reached Rameswaram after a break for food, it says for approx 700Kms 23.5Kmpl!

On return some where when it touched 1000Kms MID says 22.5Kmpl! and it went to reserve. Filled up and it took some 40 litres. Realization you can do a 1000KM in a tankful of SCross 1.3 with whatever is in the reserve to spare !!

And finally after reaching home completing the trip it showed 22Kmpl in the MID.

To calculate the overall trip efficiency next day I filled up the tank, it drank some 16 litres!!

So overall 1400Kms in 56 litres of diesel, averaging 25Kmpl.

It was not a boring drive, had speeds when required, but since there were no much vehicles gear change and braking was absolutely minimal.

Sorry for the delay in a post. All is well and I have been keeping myself quite busy. Regarding miles, yes have put a lot, but not by Kungfu Panda Sr, but on my legs

Been running a lot, and have quite a few hard earned medals now. Did two 100 milers ultra run, a Manali to Leh stage race and Everest Challenge marathon to state a few. Hooked to ultra runs these days and training and races don't leave me with much spare time, and in a way that's good.

A few pictures from a 100 miler from the last weekend

Thanks for the wonderful update
Wow, that's quite a lot of running you look very fit.

Was getting a bit worried since there was no update in kungdu panda thread. A big relief to see your post.
