Re: My Mahindra XUV500 W6 Automatic : The Wanderer

Seat Covers Update

So I was looking for fabric seat covers and thanks to Sinner666's suggestion, Elegant was on the top of my mind.
Went to JC Road since Elegant's Bangalore distributor happens to be there, and I was hoping for some other choices too. Unfortunately, there were no other choices for the XUV in fabric. Even the Elegant ones were not in stock and would need to be ordered from the factory and would take about 15 days to arrive. Whereas custom art leather/leather seat covers could be stitched there the same day. But decided to stick with fabric covers, since this was a 'function over form' situation. Did some cross shopping to find a good price and was surprised that JJ Enterprises offered a price that was much lower than the distributor's price. Placed the order with them, and the guy placed the order with the same distributor right in front of me. I ordered the Denim Retro Velvet in black, which was more like a dark grey. I felt like this shade will gel with the black/beige interior combo. The feel of the fabric was very soft unlike the denim jeans that we wear.

Fitting was done about 15 days later once the seat covers arrived. Fitting was ok in most parts, except for the headrests. The fitting guy made a total hash of the headrests. There are seams and insides visible in some spots on the headrests. Took about 4 hours to complete the fitting. These were fitted on top of the stock seat covers, so it should be possible to remove them and go back to factory ones.

After about 15 days of usage, I can vouch that these covers don't get hot like art leather ones. Quite comfortable to sit on too. They don't look half bad either. At the same time, art leather covers will easily beat these ones in the looks department. But since my requirement was functional here, I am satisfied.

Re: My Mahindra XUV500 W6 Automatic : The Wanderer

I am facing many niggling and some serious problems on my XUV500 W6 Automatic

I Bought a Black XUV500 W6 Automatic in End April 17 from Dada Motors Ludhiana and upon receiving the vehicle I noticed a slight vibration from the engine Bay. After looking for the problem I saw that the Entire INTERCOOLER ASSY was loose as the factory forgot to insall the fastening bolts on top of the Intercooler which are two in no.
I brought it to the notice of the dealer that they overlooked this during PDI but anyhow they fixed it.

After this I started to get the following problems.

1. Central locking from remote key not working Intermittantly
2. After taking the Key out of the ignition the steering lock and switch not snapping in place. The key sometimes needs to be re inserted and then removed to make it work
3. The plastic cover on the base of Auto Gear shift lever keeps coming off and vibrating which I think this is a manufacturing defect.
4. The entire dashboard display console which houses the speedometer and RPM meter etc. has gone kaput. I was told by the Local Dealership at Ludhiana DADA Motors that the entire unit shall be replaced which would take about 10 days.

Now I cannot take the car out of town and Fuel guage, speedometer ,temp meter etc are all not working.

Mahindra QC department needs to take note of these problems. You donot expect these from a car worth 15 lacs.

I guess it was excess sealant from the Windscreen. PDI at M&M factory needs to improve.

skler,

Sorry to hear about the issues you are facing with your car. In M&M, escalation to higher levels has been known to work wonders and they are quite proactive in trying to fix issues.
Have you tried that route?
I hope these issues get resolved to your satisfaction. All the best !

Wait for few more months as new more powerful XUV is about to launch, then buy W6 AT rather than Hexa

NOt that concerned about the power since I know that fact that XUV is already very powerful. SO not really looking forward more power.
Few plus points i found in Hexa were its very spacious and the price is also 50K lesser than W6AT.

So if it based on the present scenario, could someone help me with the present W6 AT? Hows it in overall in maintaining hows the Fuel Efficiency. Is there regular issues which you think is facing with its Automatic Transmission, anything else which you think is worth mentioning

Thanks in advance
