Saw one being TDed on worli seaface today...what can I say, the car might be perfect, but it still looks like crap to me.

Please Hyundai, please come up with a nice design to go with the rest of the car!

But it looks better and more executive than the Honda City.

The side profile looks exactly like the Accent Viva CRDI to me....what is the difference apart from the headlamps? How come no one was going ga-ga about the Viva side profile before the Verna came?

Well the Verna is in fact a grown up Accent. So resemblances will be there. But it looks bolder and nicer than the Accent.

The Verna CRDI engine in the Fiesta Sxi's body-shell/driving dynamics would RULE, in my opinion. Add Disc brakes all around, ABS-EBD, TCS, etc. That would be awesome.

guys i just test drove Verna(crdi) today.. wow indeed this one is a beast.

cars exterior is pretty ok, not the head turner kinda thing but not bad either. though i dint like the front grill at all n the back looks cool.

As i sat on the drivers seat i noticed the first problem, my Rt Knee was hitting the ignition panel.. then i had to push the seat quite back to rectify it.
let me get to the best part ie driving it. man i turned the ignition key and this babe is sounding so refined n silent ,not so like an diesel engine(much refined than my accent crdi) with little to no vibration. Intial pick up is seriously good though i noticed a slight lag intially when you jam the throttle at any gear(not so in accent crdi) but then this babe flies... man i reached to 170 at ease n it was so stable.Braking is sad without Abs but anyday better than accent crdi(o5 model)
they say the diesel verna gives about 13-14kmpl with ac in city and more than 18kmpl in the highway.
It costs 8.46lakhs on road out here in Mangalore and optional Abs would be around 30k's more.

Somebody said that Verna is the only car to offer optional 15inchers. I think even on a Optra 1.8 there is a similar option available.

My dealer is not offering test drive here, he is sayin they are yet to register the car following which only test drives will be available.

verna crdi testdrive and impression

helo, as everyone have read in the magazines its looks are not that attractive from front but its smart from the sides and rear.then there were so many pictures and reviews in -so no more of the repetitions.i found few rather interesting points about the crdi version.

exciting features

you wont be given an fatc-fully automatic climate control as in the top end petrol version.but you get a max a/c position werin if you put the control to that position it automatically goes to the inside air circulation mode in the given fan speed setting. then there is the demister position where its advised to put that position with outside air circulation-if the control is put in that position then automatically outside air circulation is selected.

then no more sticking out lock switch. the lock controls are like the getz.then you get a seperate central locking switch next to the power window lock to lock and unlock the doors .

the most exciting of them all - after removing the key if you find that any of the window is down -for the first 30 sec you can operate the windows .that saves treinserting the key again.

bottle holders on all four doors .no wooden inserts as in the petrol variants-xi and xxi.no electrically controled side rearview mirrors as in xi and xxi.and like before no crdi customers expect music system and alloys .

then you get abs as optional for an extra payment of 20,000/

the other features include-fog lamps, power stearing with tilt,4 power windows, cental locking, removable ash tray, clutch lock as in the elantra, remote boot lid and fuel tank opening, then you get a power saver which switches off the lights even if you forget that after you park the car.

hope you all find it exciting and top class power delivery, and torque.

happy test drives

Maybe that's what Hyundai intends to do in the future, after the sales begin to warp...

P.S- I really don't get the omission of height adjustable seats. It's not of much use, but when Hyundai offers it in the Accent/ Viva CRDi, they should've given it in the Verna too.
Absolutely...Lower One could have competed with Fiesta and the more feature rich version could have eaten Octavia's share...

I remember when Skoda launched the Octy, they lopped off ABS and something else from the diesel so as to sell both versions at the same price.

They sure are scared of verna crdi cannibalising elantra sales, otherwise what explains the fact that the above mentioned factors not included in the verna crdi and sold as a higher end model.
