re: Preview: Ford Endeavour

I have 3 ford vehicles including an Endeavour and I would rate the quality of service as acceptable (at Metro Ford & Lathangi Ford in Bangalore). My other vehicle is from Maruti, so that is the only benchmark I personally have.

I have rated it acceptable and not higher because with my Endeavour sometimes there has been a delay of 1-2 days, while the parts are shipped from Chennai. And these were pretty regular wear & tear parts like brake liners. With the EcoSport & Fiesta the experience has been much better, with multiple post service satisfaction surveys and prompt followups for any negative comments...

My benchmark is Hyundai, and I'd rate Ford better. With Hyundai, I give my car for an entire day, and get it back only after 6 pm. Ford - I've always got my car within 3-4 hours from Lathangi Ford (my trick - I always opt out of the free wash, they have only 1 wash bay, so there's a big bottleneck there). Fortunately not needed any spares, so can't comment on that.

That's not very good. While the Endeavour is not a mass-market product like the Classic or EcoSport, I'd have expected better inventory levels for Bangalore.

Now, with Ford selling spares over the counter, I hope that it becomes easier to source spares: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian...erala-too.html

re: Preview: Ford Endeavour

The service level seems to be encouraging to a new Ford buyer. Even a normal Mahindra takes a few days on many occasions to source parts from Nasik.

I quite like the vehicle. A test drive will aid my final decision. If its comfortable seating and a good drive backed by solid built I will buy it for sure.

re: Preview: Ford Endeavour

An update I received from a authorised dealer.
The demo vehicle would arrive to showroom by November end or December First week. The Base 2.2L would start from 21.5 lacs exshowroom while the AT version of 2.2L would cost 28-29. There would be only one variant of 3.2L which would cost 31-32lacs.

Surprising that they are delaying the launch when the production has indeed started. I hope the single 3.2L variant which they are launching is loaded to the gills with the panoramic sunroof, powered tailgate and last row seats and other such features available in the top end versions abroad.

Why are AT versions costing much higher than the normal ones ? Haven't technology and process improved a lot that they can be priced marginally higher than a huge difference ?

AT is considered as 'luxury' at least in India.

AT Could be 4x4 Titanium+ ? If its true, i would say the 4x4 components including terrain management system, the AT box & features contributing the high price for 2.2 AT

re: Preview: Ford Endeavour

I know Ford would be watching this space. While I have no objection of them launching an AT with all goodies, I would also request them to launch an MT for the same model, not just launch an AT, please.

My sentiments exactly!
I hope Ford will consider a Manual Tranny version for the 3.2L 4x4.

re: Preview: Ford Endeavour

Thank you Team BHP and S2 for this detailed review on the Endeavour.
This beast will definitely be a competition to the Fortuner and other competitors in the segment.
I worked for Ford as a contractor managing their IT for their manufacturing plants around the globe and have a lot of experience visiting the Chennai plant. The sad part is even the Eco-Sport models that are exported to Europe and other parts of the world from Chennai have better equipment, fabric and safety features loaded in comparison to the models that are manufactured for India and this makes me wish for the availability of those awesome looking 20 inch alloys and other mind blowing features like the molded blind spot mirrors on the ORVMs, etc. I love the way they have designed the instrument cluster and digitized the whole face of the dashboard.
I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of this beast in India so that I can take my uncle for a test drive and help him decide between Fortuner and Endeavour.

re: Preview: Ford Endeavour

My source tell me that there is a sales training scheduled for dealers in November first week. Will try & get some details post that. It looks like an end November or early December launch.

On a side note, I am in Bangkok next week for a day, so am planning to visit a Ford dealership and a Toyota dealership to checkout the new Everest & Fortuner. Don't know if they would entertain a test drive for a non resident, but I will try.

I am biased towards the Endeavour (currently own one), but am willing to consider the new Fortuner as well. Will post my layman views on this thread.

I only saw the 2.2 in Titanium while the Titanium+ was only on the 3.2 (on the Thai spec vehicle). In the TD as well saw the 2.2 without the terrain management - unless I missed something.

The 2016 Ford Endeavour has been caught fully undisguised by the Powerdrift team.

The rear wash-wipe has already been the victim of vandals or so it appears.

Am I seeing a manual gearbox and the terrain management system? This seems to be good news for several SUV lovers who want a manual + 4WD
