Well, compare it with the new 2016 Fortuner please.

The new Fortuner has rear disc brakes and the same number of airbags in the top versions as the Endy and the base version has three airbags( D+P+knee airbag ) instead of the two only in Endy base variant.

(But whether the knee airbag and rear discs make it to India have to be seen)

Negative. Hell lot of features are missing from the global models.

Comparing 3.2 Titanium Indian Endeavour with the same variant in Australia,

Following features are missing on Indian model.
  • 20" Alloy Wheels
  • Adaptive Cruise Control with Forward Collision Alert
  • Blind spot monitoring system (BLIS) with cross-traffic alert
  • Driver Alert System
  • 230V inverter in rear console
  • Pollen air filter
  • 8-way power front passenger seat with manual lumbar
  • Auto high beam control
  • Flip/auto spare key
  • Satellite Navigation with traffic Management Channel
  • Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning
  • Heated Front Seats
  • Mobile WiFi Hotspot
Apart from the above missing features few specifications are not clear from Ford India website

SYNC™2 ( From the vehicle specs page it looks like SYNC™ (1st Gen) while the Endeavour 'smart' feature page reads it as SYNC™2 )

http://www.india.ford.com/suvs/endeavour/features/smart

Its SYNC™ (1st Gen) for the base model and SYNC™2 for top models in Australia

TFT touch Screen - what size ? 8" ?

HID head lamps not available for Trend version - then what will be available - reflector type or Halogen Projectors ?

Panoramic Sunroof - with power blind ?

If features contributes the high price for a vehicle, stripping down the features should reduce the price of vehicle.

ARAI fuel consumption figures for 2.2 4x2 MT is 14.12 Km/l - then why not 2.2 4x2 Titanium MT variant ? ( Mileage + Engine response + Features ) - would have been a great choice (Value for Money) since most of the test drive reports says 2.2 AT is 'Lazy'

Adaptive cruise , Blind Spot , Lane Departure , traffic management channel , heated front seats - Missing - how does this matter in India presently ?

230V - of course would have been a great for longer journey's

so officially ford dealers are not taking booing yet but have been promised one from first lot in case we pay 1 Lac ASAP . They will book for eco-sports and will convert to endeavour as soon as their system allows - looks Ford has taken some steps to ensure correct delivery sequences are followed based on booking date .

I am happy they have deleted these features from the Indian version since they would anyways be mostly of no use in Indian driving conditions, Stripping down such features so that they can go with a aggressive pricing!

I am actually surprised they have retained with the park assist.

This had been shared on the other thread. It caught fire because of incorrect installation of battery by some journalist or so.

Wow! Finally a mean looking SUV with truckload of features, really looking forward to it to hit market really soon. Ford you guys are on right track, just bring on the right price tag and be ready to rule SUV territory.

Re: Ford Endeavour India: Variants, specs & more!

So i have been fortunate to lay my hands on the new Ford Endeavour, 3.2 Auto 4x4 today morning. I don't think i need to elaborate so my short feedback.

Likes

1) Great quality; inside & outside
2) The steering is right size, more car like and very agile. Effortless to use.
3) Ac is decent. Right placing of the vents.
4) The engine sounds little loud but not unpleasant. But with all windows up, you are insulated against the noises. The power delivery and the beautifully mated gearbox makes the Ford extremely brilliant to drive.
5) Functions work as expected; 4x4, Hill descent, sand mode etc. and no surprises.
6) Good quality ride, did not experience any body roll or any drama while going over bad roads or small humps.

Dislikes

1) Very low headroom. Found it too low for my liking even though hough I am not 6ft. Safari storme, XUV got much better headroom
2) Last row is cramped. Though the middle seat can slide, the overall adjustments and finding space for all passengers isn't good.

For the overall features, capability, the endeavour is a good fit. But if you are expecting comfortable seating for all passengers then its not the 7 seater SUV to buy.

Any idea about the pricing?

In the previous Hurricane version, the driver seat was too low & i had to sit in a weird frog like position. is it the same now or have they done something about it? how about the seat height for front & middle rows & under thigh support?

The seating position and comfort is much better in the new Ford endeavor compared to the front seat of the previous iteration.

Under thigh support for middle row is okay.

All guess work, the sales guy says that the pricing for the 3.2AT 4x4 would be above 35L (ex showroom). In addition, he was enthusiastic to share his prophecy that Prado world wide is now dead because of the new Endeavour, in terms of pricing and features.

Didn't you just get the new XUV ?

In terms of pricing my prediction is that the 2.2L versions would range from 26-30lac and 3.2L would have a differential of 2-3 lacs variant to variant. Lets see what it really is eventually. I wont be surprised if the top trims are priced above the Fortuner, given the amount of features it would offer.

Yes but it seems i am in too much in love with the new endy, Looks great, Features are sweet! Sliding second row, Luggage space left with the 3rd row up, okay well who am i kidding, All these things aren't ground breaking for which i should sell my hardly used new age xuv! But well life is short, So if the 2.2L Titanium AT 2WD is priced anywhere around 25-28 (Okay high hopes maybe) I will most probably take the plunge.

3.2L Version will surely break the 30+ mark which won't really be very VFM, But still a great choice of a car in the price range.

All eyes on the pricing. Common ford!!
