Interestingly, the 4S uses the same Bridgestone B250 195/55/R16 and the recommended pressure is 33 PSI. A reassuring point to my hypothesis

Wrong! You need to *reduce* pressure to make any steering heavy, and not increase it. The reduced pressure increases the area of contact to the ground.

I may be wrong but I doubt in case of a EPS such small pressure difference would make any difference to the steering effort. The effort that is required by the driver is simply the input to the electrical unit and it is the electrical unit in turn, whose effort would be affected by tyre pressure.

By the way, on the old Verna (2012 fluidic) with same tyres, is the recommended tyre pressure not 30 psi in almost all load conditions? Remember reading that in the manual. So why 32 or 33 on the new one?

This's from S2's 2015 review. I'm pretty sure my 2014 has 32 psi for all loads.

Got my hands on the 4S .

Though I'm no expert, I'd like to put my observations on the board. [ Apologies for any unlearned comments]

1. I did drive the previous Verna fluidic for long distances and not much of a difference is found in the feel of drives .

2. Easy to drive in bumper to bumper traffic. The 1.6 L Engine sees that enough power is realized at the tyres with enough power at the release of clutch.

3. I see the turbo kicking in after 1750 Rpm after which the power of the Engine is felt under the foot and it would be breeze to drive on a well-paved Highway at triple digit speed.

4. But the Steering and braking did not inspire much confidence; steering wheel being too light , someone might fancy to twirl it with a finger but it might be disastrous at high speeds.

Braking was not too effective either though I did not do any emergency braking.

5. Though there is a change in ride quality, I would not call it significant . I drove over well laid paths so couldn't really comment on how this new one takes the ubiquitous undulations of our road.

6. Last, but not the least, as usual, loaded with many gizmos that add a spark to the interiors. [ The interiors seems to have not changed though]

I'd say the smile came back to my face when I took back the wheel on my Swift 1.3 [ I know I'm being blunt to the owners of Verna including my BIL , no offence]

Kinda in a soup. Planning to buy Hyundai Verna. The 4s is the latest one but has several features removed from the previous model like rear disk brakes, not height adjustable rear head rests etc. The previous model to the 4s is also being offered by great discounts. On the other hand the 4s has better suspension.

The car will be with me for long time. Can someone please help me out with this. Thanks.

@Infurion You can actually get a few very good deals in moderately used 2012-13 Fluidic Vernas - if you are not closed to the idea. What you will miss in the older version is the better suspension though. I own a 2011-12 Fluidic Verna and although I love almost everything about it - its the GC and the suspension which gets my goat every time!!

If your usage is primarily in the city for office commute, the lack of rear disc brakes are not something that would matter much because 90% of Indian cities have crawl speed traffic in most cases. I still say the 4S is a pretty good car and value for money too, specially with the 6 air bags - now that is something we all need.

Hi Infurion, I have the pre-facelift 2014 model bought in July '14 and have covered 14k+ KMs so far and I can say that, the suspension is perfect for our driving conditions, not too stiff, not too soft. handles pot holes pretty well. My suggestion would be go ahead with the pre-facelift model for a sweet discount

P.S - Previously I had a i20 with softer suspension and I can clearly feel the difference in a positive way

Get a Honda City IMHO if you have to get a car right away. The 4S is just a stop gap arrangement until the all new Verna is launched in 2016. Hyundai is proactive and I am sure India will be one of the first markets to get the new Verna/Accent. Heres a spy pic

Any update on discounts that are being offered around the country on the old shaped Verna Fluidic. The Hyd dealer has a 2015 CRDI SX model, but quoted a mere Rs 40,000 discount. I feel that's too less.

A friend of mine in Chennai was in the look out for the older Verna. Not many could be found on the shelves. One dealer offered him a Nov 2014 made basic 1.4L CRDI (the one without airbags, abs and comes with an 185/65/R15 tyres). He was offered a discount of Rs 60,000 and a free upgrade to zero depreciation policy.

He didn't pursue after that and is in the queue for an Elite i20!

In punjab the dealers are providing upto ₹1,00,000 off including the loyalty bonus. Though discounts differ from dealer to dealer. I went to buy 4s fluidic verna so got to know about it.

Hello Bhpians I think I am the only one so far in this thread who has bought verna 4s fluidic. Was in dire need of a car though knowing hyundai is testing next generation verna due for launch in 2016 may be. But I could not wait another year and half for the car so went ahead with the 4s fluidic verna. Any other fellow member who has purchased 4s fluidic verna can update.. Regards
