Re: The 2014 Fiat Linea Facelift - Test Drive & Review

Car Scoops has caught the Linea replacement testing. This is based on the 500X & 500L small wide platform. More details and pics below.

With all that heavy padding, nothing much can be made out.

Thank you Tarun, I also read somewhere that the current model would be continued in India and Brazil until late 2016 or early 2017. So there is a long wait for us to see the launch of the updated version here. Let's see what Fiat comes up with this time and how there plan to improve an already good car shapes out.

Now that's what you call a long drive. Kudos to FIAT for building cars that can handle such rigorous tests and a 100 cheers to the family who took the challenge

Guys, am thinking of replacing the stock headlights of tjet as I felt they were not adequate at night esp. on highways. Any suggestions / recommendations for more powerful ones?

Re: The 2014 Fiat Linea Facelift - Test Drive & Review

Hello All,

FIAT has released a new ECU update to address the shudder/jerk usually experienced in gear 3. I got the ECU update done today at AV moors here in Hyderabad and I the issue has been addressed.
From my conversation with the GM - Service at AV motors he mentioned that FIAT has issued a circular to have the S/W update done across all the 2014 90HP engines hence all the 2014 Linea's and 90 HP Punto's would receive this ECU update mostly when they come in for service. If somebody wants to get this addressed immediately please call any FASS for a quick appointment and you can get this done in flat 10-15 min, its free of cost & covered under warranty.
Post the software update I did observe something very interesting, the drive-ability of the car seems to have improved. In simple words the turbo lag seems to have minimized and I did feel that the car was pulling fine in gear 3 where earlier I had to downshift to gear 2 and I observed similar behavior between gear 3 & 4.Please do not expect any miracles as its the same 1.3 MJD and the ECU update would not do any wonders to make it sprint friendly or pull like a train at lower rpm's, however Iam sure you would observe a significant change in the drive-ability.

PS : Details and experience updated on my ownership thread.

@pdma: Is this ECU update applicable to all 2014 lineas ? OR is it for only those, who have registered a complaint about it ?

Hello Vinit,

This is valid for all 90 HP MJD's from 2014 onwards irrespective of the model of the car.

Re: The 2014 Fiat Linea Facelift - Test Drive & Review

Hello folks, Can anyone tell me if there is an isofix for child's seat in this vehicle? I saw some international versions of linea having it. Not sure if the indian version has it. The specs sheet also doesn't mention it ?

Re: The 2014 Fiat Linea Facelift - Test Drive & Review

Is this ICE head unit shipped with the linea/punto anywhere in the world?
I have seen this online but the software doesn't seem like an OEM product.

I found this ad / image from the Turkish Fiat Linea, that shows a smaller SAT NAV head unit ( and also a brilliant ad! )

http://www.fiat.com.tr/modeller/sayf...IcTasarim.aspx

Is this unit available for an upgrade?

Checked this with Torrid Fiat in Mumbai. They dont seem to be aware of the ECU update. They themselves asked me, how did I come to know about this ?
