Re: Urban Titanium Honda Brio V-AT

Dear Rana,
I think you need to test drive the Polo GTI, Brio AT, Ritz AT, i10 AT & the Astar AT before taking a decision.
Sgiitk sir,
While i fully agree that the Jap & Korean cars are maintenance free, the fit and finish and driving manners of european cars are second to none, and this comment after having driven a whole lot of Jap & German cars.

No car is maintenance free. The repair costs and availability of spares is far more favourable for the Japs and Koreans. I am not too sure about the driving manners and fit & finish of the Europeans. Do not compare a Merc with the Japs, look at the Skoda / VW.

Re: Urban Titanium Honda Brio V-AT

Got the one year service done. I also opted for the 3M Interior Cleaning since there were a few stains on the rear seat (shopping and beige upholstery do not mix), and a surface rubbing (painting of the house put some white paint droplets). Interior valeting was excellent and the paint cleaning also acceptable. The service part came to ~Rs.2350 including oil.

Re: Urban Titanium Honda Brio V-AT

The rates are quite reasonable.
The "surface repainment with glezing" - is that typical, wash-dry-remove tar-clean-rubbing compound-clay- machine polish-wax- cycle? If yes, then 3200 is quite reasonable as well, assuming this is done at 3M or equivalent.

No it is I think the 3M protocol by the HASS.

Surprisingly no Scotchgard coating in the interior treatment.

Re: Urban Titanium Honda Brio V-AT

Today when looking at the car closely I found three blemishes:

1. Two very tiny paint marks had not been removed on the drivers side.

2. There is a small stain left in the passenger front seat.

3. More serious: The clip in the bumper is still missing.

I emailed them, and within an hour I got a call from the SM, and now they are sending someone to fix the problems. Let us see.

Re: Urban Titanium Honda Brio V-AT

I got my Gtechniq Smart Fabric Coating from greenzcarcare.com Bangalore. I had ordered two 100ml packs @968 each. Sprayed the seats today. The smell wqs very similar to Scotchgard from the past. Let us see. I used up 1-1/2 bottles. I plan to get another two for my daughter-in-law's Amaze VX-AT on order for a January delivery. With an infant son they need it more than me. Also, got a bottle for the Leather Coat which I plant to test on my Civic.

Re: Urban Titanium Honda Brio V-AT

Hello Professor,
I have a couple of questions about the Brio. Mine is closing in on 10000km (VX-AT), does the first service interval say 1 year or 10000km or just one year? I'm also noticing a few rattles from the front shocks (only when I am on gravel/mud/slightly bumpy road), is this expected so early?

Re: Urban Titanium Honda Brio V-AT

Just got the 18 month service done. Cost Rs.3123 since both the wiper blades became victims of the Kanpur sun. Total time under 2.5 hours. A dent on the sill where the paint had gone, was brushed up for free.

Re: Urban Titanium Honda Brio V-AT

I have booked Brio automatic and it will be delivered(hopefully) around first week on June.
When do I have to pay the balance amount? Sales guy says I have to pay the balance amount once my car is shipped from the factory. Is it correct or I can pay once the car is reached Chennai showroom. According to him delivery will take 10 days to reach Chennai.

Don't pay the whole amount now. Tell the Sales guy that you will clear the whole amount once you inspect the car in person and are satisfied. In the interim, pay up to 80% of the amount.

Re: Urban Titanium Honda Brio V-AT

What I do is to pay an amount with under 25k remaining (rounded figure), which I pay at the time of delivery. No hard and fast rule. Technically they have the right to get the full payment before letting the car out of the showroom, or even registering it.

Re: Urban Titanium Honda Brio V-AT

Hello Sgiitk and other Brio AT owners

Looks like I will be getting the Brio AT between 30th to 2nd of June.

please let me know, is it necessary for any extra fittings?
If yes, what are the extra fittings I can go for.

My car price is 7.14L includes 4 years warranty. Is this the best price or any further negotiation is possible. Will transfer my current NCB(50%) to this; I think I should get another 5-7k less in the insurance cost.

Thanks for your input.
